Fit Review Friday! Banana Republic Washed Cotton Chore Jacket and Mid Rise Relaxed Painter Pull On Pant

Happy Friday! Atlanta is having some really nice weather for the past couple of weeks. It's the perfect spring weather. Not too hot and low humidity. This Banana Republic outfit I was trying to put together to emulate spring vibes did not quite work out as I had hoped. 😅

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS in Banana Republic. I also wear size PXS in Athleta and size 4/6 or XS/S in Lululemon.

What drew me to this jacket is 100% the color. It's a really pretty mauve, more purple/brown vs the pink that's showing in the top photo. It's definitely closer to the bottom photo in real life. I'm wearing size XXS in this Washed Cotton Chore Jacket and it's still quite oversized on me.

The sleeves arrived cuffed, you can fold them down if you want like the model. The fabric is 100% washed cotton. I'm definitely gravitating towards natural fibers lately, and you cannot believe how hard it is to find anything that's 100% cotton these days. It's also why I'm loving Banana Republic lately. Most of their t-shirts are 100% cotton and they are so soft.

This is a vintage style from the 90s, and now I'm realizing it's why I unconsciously picked it out. The pockets are large and comfy. I love the side slit detail. It has a snap front closure and overall it's a very comfortable jacket to wear. I can understand why this gets nearly 5 star reviews. I admit, it's not the most flattering jacket I've ever bought, but it's definitely one of the most comfortable. What do you guys think of this jacket? Is it too big on my petite frame? I think it kind of works, just not with these pants, which I'll get to in a second.

Now, before I start this next review of the Mid-Rise Relaxed Painter Pull On Pant, I took over 20 photos, and none of them were flattering. 😆 These are the only 2 photos I am willing to post on the blog. I thought there was a slight chance the linen fabric could possibly make these pants work for me, but it's a big fat NOPE.

Don't get me wrong, I love the feel of the linen and I even love this Campground shade of green. But the cut is all wrong even in petite sizing. They almost look like they could be barrel pants. Which means I definitely cannot pull off barrel pants even in linen. I'm wearing size PXS and very disappointed.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  1. Nope. Just nope. You are way too pretty and slim for any of this.

  3. Hi Leslie! I agree that the outfit is not petite friendly, but...the lighting of your new studio is so nice! Have a happy Friday!

    1. Hi Karen! Thank you, I really love the lighting, it's so much better here than the old place!

So sad about the jacket, I really like how comfy it is.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
