Fit Review Friday! Lululemon Store Try Ons Hold Tight Crewneck Tank, Softstreme Pique Polo Shirt, Softstreme Pique Track Jacket

Happy Friday! I went to the store last weekend and got to try on some new Lululemon items. When I felt how soft the Hold Tight Crewneck Tank felt, I had to try it on. The store also had some Softstreme Pique items too!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 or XS/S in Lululemon. I also wear size PXS in Athleta.

I'm wearing size 6 in this tank and really love the fit. It's semi-fitted and my usual size 6 fits great and felt really nice on. I normally do not like stripes but I could almost see myself wearing this one. My only gripe was how small the neck opening is. Other than that, no complaints. It was very comfortable everywhere else. The material is lightweight and super soft. I did consider buying this tank. For $48 I think it's a fair price.

Next we have the Softstreme Pique Polo Shirt and this shirt runs large. I am wearing size XXS and there's still room to size down, except any smaller and it might turn into a crop top.

I do wonder if the XXXS would be more flattering. It's a boxy fit and the sleeves hit at an awkward length on my upper arms. I like the side slits at the hem. However this polo reminds me of something you would wear on a safari trip. 😅 That said, I love the Softstreme Pique fabric. It's super soft with knit texture feel. It's slightly weighty for a thin-ish fabric.

Last but not least we have the Softstreme Pique Track Jacket. I'm wearing size XS and it's slightly loose and the sleeves are a bit too long, but the length of the jacket is actually quite petite friendly. The fit is also slightly boxy.

I don't find this track jacket to be especially flattering, but it is very comfortable. It has side pockets and a wide band at the hem. For $148, I would say it's just okay. Nothing too special, except for the fabric. I'm still a big fan of Softstreme.

That's it for me! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Thank you for another great fit review, Leslie. The tank looks really cute on you and it goes very well with the bottom you were wearing. Was it Athleta’s Seasoft Crop in Abalone? The color looks very similar to Downtown Tan.

The polo shirt is too boxy and cropped for my liking and the hoodie is just so-so for the price.

Did you get to try on any EasyFive pants? I’m curious to know how the fabric feels.

    1. Hi Andrea! Yes those are the same bottoms as my Athleta review from Monday. I hit both stores on the same day. 😅

I didn't get to try on the EasyFive pants but I agree with Lola's review - I saw them in person and they felt stiff and too structured which was why I passed on trying it on. My Mother denim jeans are way softer.

  2. Hi Leslie! Thanks for the fit review! I think the track jacket looks nice on you. Light ivory is very flattering with your skin tone. The tank is a nice find as well, although I also don't like neck openings that are too small. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Thanks! I try not to buy too many light colored tops, I love them but I always spill food all over myself. Apparently I am a very messy eater. 🤣

  3. I kind of like the Pique Polo Shirt. Your comment about it being a safari shirt made me laugh - and I agree! Maybe it would be better in a different color? I think the jacket is meh. I'd like to see more pieces in the pique fabric though.

I have one Hold Tight Crewneck that I got last summer. It pilled so badly and so immediately that I have stayed clear of that line ever since. I do agree the fabric feels very soft, and the fit is nice.

Andrea, I got a pair of the EasyFive Wideleg Pants. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep them. The best way I can describe the fabric is it feels like canvas. It's a little stiff and structured, but I think after a couple of washes it will break in and soften up. That being said, at the moment, it is not a comfy fabric. I have jeans that are way softer than these. Also, they fit a little big in my usual jeans size, but I think that's the intention, as they're supposed to be low-slung. And I wouldn't consider these to be low-rise as described. The rise measures 10 inches. If they were more fitted, the rise would definitely hit way higher than my belly button. Because of the rise length, when they sit at the hips, I get kind of a skater-girl drop-crotch effect, which I think I might be too old to pull off, lol! The short inseam length is perfect for me (I'm 5ft1).

Sorry to hijack your blog with my mini-review Leslie :)

    1. I truly appreciate your input on the EasyFive pants, Lola! I was worried that the cotton-blend Utilitech fabric would be stiff and I’m not a fan of canvas pants.

      My wallet is safe. :)

    2. Hi Lola! I appreciate your mini review - very detailed and it relieves me of having to do a try on! Thanks for giving the rise measurement. I prefer my rise to be under 10 inches.

I think you may be right about the Pique Polo shirt, maybe it would look better in a darker color. Good to know about the Hold Tight line, I was really tempted! But if it pills that badly, I won't bother even if it goes on sale.

  4. Your comment about the polo shirt looking like something you’d wear on safari made me laugh. I have been on safari a few times and I wore a Lululemon top at least once. It was a short sleeve Swiftly, the loose version.

    1. Hi there! I have never been on a safari trip, I would love to experience one someday! I like the relaxed Swiftly SS. Good choice!

    2. I often take lulu stuff on my travels. In January I went to the Balkans and one on my layering pieces (it was cold!) was the long sleeve v-neck swiftly with the little perforations. And I still love a vinyasa scarf for my airplane wrap/blanket.

And yes, definitely take a safari trip if you ever get the chance!

  6. I actually quite like the track jacket but wow why did the sleeves have to be so long.

    1. Hi AC! Yeah, most Lulu jackets have super long sleeves, at least for me.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
