Money Talk - How much did I spend in 2025?

Since this is my No-Buy month, I thought I would talk about how much I spent last year on clothing. As someone who buys a lot of things to review on my blog, I spend a decent amount of money every year. However, as I get older my mindset is changing. I want to be more mindful with my shopping. I went back to look at my spending in 2022 and 2023 to see what the numbers were like. Keep in mind that this wasn't everything I bought, just the brands that I spent the most money with in terms of clothing.

I started to spend a lot less on clothing in general in 2023. It's almost 50% less. Let's see what happend in 2024 and 2025.

I spent a decent amount more in 2024, but still less than 2022. Considering the price increases in 2025 and Lululemon not producing anything I really wanted, I spent a lot less. If I didn't end up buying three jackets from Banana Republic, the total would have been a little over $3,000 for the year which would have been amazing. I also noticed Aviator Nation and Naked Cashmere dropped off. They have not had anything that tempted me. I also added Frank & Eileen to the list. It'll be interesting to see what I end up purchasing in 2026. The bulk of my shopping money does go to bags, but it's harder for me to keep track of that because as many bags as I buy and keep, I'm also constantly selling older bags that I have fallen out of love with. In the end, it probably keeps the amount of spend a lot lower, but I'm sure I'm still putting more money into that bucket in the end. Does anyone else keep track of how much they spend on clothing every year?

My shopping goal for 2026

I mentioned this in my goals for 2026 is to only purchase 24 new items for the year. This includes shoes and clothing. As for my handbag collection, I will try and keep my total to 50 bags. Which right now it's a little over. I'm at 53 at the moment, so I will have to sell more bags this year! I'm also planning on doing a pretty big closet clean out. My walk in closet is nearly done and I'm still moving my stuff in, but it is getting there. If you're joining me in adding 24 items to your closet this year, let me know in the comments. Since January is my No-Buy challenge, I haven't added anything yet. 😅 I'll probably focus on cleaning out my closet until the end of the month.

If you have 4 minutes, please check out my unboxing! This was my last bag purchase of 2025. It finally arrived a few days ago.

  1. So methodical! Some of your totals makes sense, cashmere or your aviator nation items are sort of “forever items” where unless you get it in another must have color way, the ones you bought initially kind of stays and that’s it. When you lay it all out like that it seems like big numbers and easier to be more conscious of spending.

It would also be interesting to see what you are parting ways with or why (style evolving, preferring different fit etc)

And I did watch your video and interesting on the measurements. Perhaps some of that real estate in the measurements was rolled up into the bag structure instead of the actual finished product dimensions? Still doesn’t make sense but I liked seeing them compared side by side like that, that’s informative content!

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
