Fit Review Friday! Featherweight 900 Down Fill Quilted Vest, Faux Fur Full Zip Hoodie and Cotton Blend Double Knit Oversized Hoodie
Happy Friday! Stopped by Lululemon for a quick check to see if they had the Faux Fur Fill Zip Hoodie and they did! I picked up a couple of more items for a store try-on.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 or XS/S in Lululemon.
I'm wearing size XS in this vest. The top part of the vest fits well, but it flares out into this wide boxy fit. It's not very flattering at all. There's a chance XXS would have been more flattering, but the store didn't have anything smaller for me to try on. They did have Black Plum in the store, but not in my size. Black Plum really looks gorgeous in person. I've also never seen anything higher than 700-Down-Fill and wonder if 900 is that much warmer. Price is $248 which is quite expensive for a vest, so I am not sure if the extra 200-Down-Fill is worth it/or is that much warmer.
Next up we have the Faux Fur Full Zip Hoodie that caught everyone's eye. I'm wearing size XS and it is oversized on me. I will say it is very soft. It's like petting one of my black cats. 😅 My cats would probably love this jacket more than me. 😹

The length covers my assets completely. The sleeves are quite long as expected. The jacket is medium to heavy weight and is lined on the inside with cotton fabric.
It's more flattering from the back than it is from the front.
Overall, I found this to be quite bulky and it does add weight to my frame. It's too bad this doesn't come in size XXS or XXXS. Sigh, the search for a faux fur jacket continues!
Last but not least, we have the Cotton Blend Double Knit Oversized Hoodie. I'm wearing size XS. I'm still trying to understand the alpha sizing and so far, if the item is oversized, I need a XXS or XXXS. 😒
This hoodie is actually pretty cute! It's just a tad too oversized on me. I think if they made this in XXS I would have picked it up, especially since it's currently on markdown Sale price is $89. It's very comfortable and I love the flap pockets.
The length hits mid-thigh and the body flares out, it would make a cute tunic if it were just a little less oversized. Apologies, the photos aren't the best. It's sometimes hard to work with fitting room settings. That's it for me! Let me know what you think of these tops. Have a fantastic weekend!

The OS hoodie looks cuter on you than the website model. Bummer about the faux fur jacket. I was hoping it would be a good one. I really can't figure out the alpha sizing. It used to be so easy to buy from Lulu. I knew my exact size and it was easy to adjust my purchase based on if it was form fitting, oversized or regular cut. One more reason my purchases from them have slowed way down. The sizing is too generic for the price point.
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! Totally agree, alpha sizing really is all over the place. I think as long as the oversized trend keeps up, it's going to be really difficult for petites especially. I've definitely shopped elsewhere this year!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Stacy and I also can’t figure out my size yet. The original Sleek Jacket was in numeric sizing but the new longer version is in alpha sizing. The faux fur jacket is cute but I will need a size XXS. :(
I’m looking forward to seeing more plush and faux fur items coming out, even though I’ll very likely be sized out. :D

Yes, the alpha sizing is frustrating! I received the Mesh Ruched Tank Top, and oh my gosh, I'm obsessed with Black Plum! The size chart said that xs is the equivalent to size 4, which is my TTS, but I went with my gut and ordered a small. My gut was right- the xs would have been way too tight. But a couple of weeks ago, I ordered the Lightweight Foldover Waist Jogger and the xxs, which is supposedly equal to a size 2, fit great! From your review, it looks like I'd have to go xxs for the jackets as well. even though I never varied from a size 4 inthe past. The sizing is very inconsistent now, which sucks. Also, now that they've gone to alpha sizing, they've cheaped out and they don't carry even close to the size range they used to, so a lot of people are going to be sized out. So much for inclusivity.....

Hi Lola! Black Plum is Super pretty. I want something in it too. Hoping to see more. I love the Lightweight Foldover Waist Jogger. I have them in two colors and wear the black the most. i went with XS as the XXS was too tight in the hips for me. Agree, the alpha sizing just isn't ideal, there's too much guess work. If I am sized out in most items, it's better for my wallet.... that's what I keep telling myself anyway lol!
