Fit Review Friday! Banana Republic Heritage Suede Jacket and Herringbone Jaquard Sailor Sweater

Happy Friday! This week has been stressful to say the least. I came back from my week long vacation without doing any work and had 100 emails waiting for me. Then on Wednesday I had to go to the dentist to get my first crown because I cracked my tooth eating something. For the life of me I cannot remember what it was that cracked my tooth. All I remember is the shooting pain in my mouth. On top of that it's been freezing here in Atlanta the past couple of days, but now it's back to 60s and low 70s, which is perfect. I cannot wait to wear these two pieces from Banana Republic.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically wear size XS/PXS in Banana Republic.

also wearing my Peter Nitz Libby Tote Medium

This sweater caught my eye immediately. I love the buttons and the oversized collar. I'm wearing size XXS and I think it's the perfect fit with room to layer a button up shirt underneath. I would definitely recommend a layer underneath because the sweater is slightly itchy. It's a blend of merino wool, cotton, nylon, and alpaca.

Here are some more photos without the button up shirt underneath. I think it looks great on its own, but it is slightly itchy.

The herringbone adds texture and there is some blue undertones which I love. It's so subtle but you can see it in the below photo. I think it looks very unique.

Okay, I am going to be honest, I really love suede this fall season! When I saw this suede jacket I was immediately interested, but it wasn't until I felt the suede in person that I had to have it. The suede feels silky. It's so soft and moves with you.

It's meant to be oversized, and for the most part, I love it except for the sleeves. They're really long and very wide. I did cuff the sleeves and the design is simple enough that I can get them hemmed and I think I will, eventually.

I'm wearing size XS. I wish the XXS was available, but that size has been sold out for months and I could only find an XS. The length hits mid thigh. It's roomy enough that I can easily wear my thickest sweaters underneath and it wouldn't be a problem.

The color is a gorgeous shade of camel. The color is nicely saturated. Banana Republic really hit it out of the park with this jacket. The quality is top tier. The suede is in a league all by itself. It's not heavy at all, it's on the thinner side and drapes so well.

The pockets are nice and deep. When you think this jacket cannot get any better, the inside lining is just beautiful. All the little details that went into this jacket is why I love Banana Republic again! It is a bit too big for me, but I don't think I can make myself return it. I may eventually get the sleeves hemmed, but for now I'll wear it as it is.

What do you think of these two pieces? Let me know if you have a favorite suede jacket. That's it for me, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. So sorry about your tooth! I also cracked a tooth while eating and the pain was incredible. I couldn't even smile while talking to people. The sweater is adorable, but I've given away every itchy sweater I've bought because I don't reach for them, so I told myself I can't make that mistake anymore!

    1. Hi there! OMG I was shocked at how painful it was. I'm feeling better now, but I am hoping when I go back for the permanent crown it won't be as invasive.

I know, I fear that might be the case with me, but because I have already planned out with button ups I can wear the sweater with, I am hoping I will reach for it every so often!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
