Fount is a new brand for me. I never heard of it until I went into their store in Alpharetta that opened a few months ago. The moment you walk through the doors the smell of leather just hits you in the face like inhaling the scent from a new baseball glove. If only someone could just bottle up that scent for me. The store itself has this old school American rustic vibe. These bags are made from beautiful full grain Italian leather with all the natural characteristics. It feels buttery soft while still maintaining the shape of the bag. I've been to the store a few times, but none of the styles really spoke to me until they released the Sloane Bag right before my no-spend challenge started. Perfect timing. 😂
I normally do not like shoulder bags, but this strap has a suede lining which prevents the strap from slipping off your shoulder. Since I've never had a suede shoulder strap before, I decided I should give it a try and see if it was really true. Sure enough, the strap actually stayed on my shoulder. However, I'm not used to shoulder bags at all and my shoulder did feel a little stiff by the end of the day.
I purchased the matching Guitar strap because I know I am a forever crossbody girl. The strap is $88 which isn't bad at all. It's non-adjustable, but even with my short frame, it still works. The drop measures 18 inches.
This leather is so amazing. It's just soooo smooshy and buttery. It's full grain Italian leather. You can see all the veining and striations. It'll develop a patina over time. I can't wait to see how it changes color. It does scratch easily, but conditioning will buff most of it out. If you are nearby a Fount store, they will condition your bag for you anytime you like.
I'm just so in love with the slouchy hammock shape.
The hardware is made of solid brass and the zipper is smooth. The stitching is not as refined as some of my higher end bags, but it matches the American rustic style.
The underside of the strap is lined with suede. They are two separate pieces stitched together. I've never had a strap like this before. Because of this, the strap is a bit thicker.
The inside is lined with suede and there is a pocket on each end of the bag to hold a phone. My iPhone 16 pro fit easily. There's also a D ring to attach keys on one side.
One picket has some information about when the company was established (2014). This is a Cleveland, Ohio company and this particular bag was made in Dominican Republic.
The back of the bag and close up of the leather.
The price of this bag is very affordable at $450. The quality of the leather and hardware is 10/10. The only thing I would nit pick is the way they stitched the suede onto the back of the leather strap. I think that could be more refined. We'll see how it holds up. I will post updates.
I took some photos of the Alpharetta store. I absolutely love going in there. It's very cozy and their displays are beautifully done.
This is their new limited edition Cherry collection.
I spoke with a sales rep at the store and she gave me a sneak peek to what's coming in October. Two new colors! The dark purple will come first, followed by a gorgeous teal. I can't wait! Both of those two colors are my favorite.
That's it for me! Don't forget to watch my video to see what fits. Do you have a Fount bag? Let me know in the comments below. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
Hi Leslie! This is the first time I hear of Fount and your bag looks gorgeous! I gasped when your nail scratched the bag in the video! Were you able to buff it out?
Hi Karen! Yes, it was just a light nail scratch, not deep so it buffed out pretty easily. Conditioner should buff out most of the scratches. The deeper ones will be harder but anything light and it will go away, but honestly I don't mind the scratches, it gives it character. 😊
Good to hear that it buffed out easily! I agree with you though. On this bag, the natural grains are beautiful and little scratches would only add character.
Thanks for sharing about Fount, never heard of it, but that detailed stitching is so beautiful! I need to purge some bags before bringing any more in, haha. I say that often, but have yet to do so. Have a great weekend.
Hi Jean L! I'm really surprised at how much I love the feel of the leather. Totally hooked. I'm actually in the process of rehoming some of my. bags myself! It is so hard, but I have to do it. Have too many!
Hi, Petite Impact! I LOVE your videos and just now camea cross this page. How are you enjoying this Sloan bag? I just purchased it in the gorgeous Cherry color, but I'm a bit worried about the suede under the shoulder strap as you mentioned. Have you noticed any corner wear at all? That's something else I'm a bit concerned with, but hoping it won't be a big issue. Can't wait to see if you purchase another FOUNT bag in the near future!
Hi Natasha! I am loving this bag. I've worn it a dozen times or so, and still looks great. I don't see any corner wear yet. So far the suede under the strap is holding up. And I have bought another Fount bag! I'll have a review up soon-ish! How do you like the Cherry color? I've seen the color at the store and it is the perfect holiday red.
So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos. The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off - $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe. This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
