Review! Loewe Flamenco Medium Aubergine

Ahhh the Loewe Flamenco bag. This bag has been on my wish list for years. I've probably looked at this bag a hundred times. It reminds me of Bottega Veneta's Oversized Pouch that was all the rage in 2018. I lusted after that bag for a couple of years but ultimately decided against it because it's not very practical. It's a giant pouch that can be only carried as a clutch. The Flamenco bag was originally designed in the 1970s and brought back from the archives in 2010 and it's still going strong. When I saw this beautiful eggplant purple pop up on Fashionphile, I decided to finally pull the trigger.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

Please check out my video to see what fits.

The sizing of the Flamenco bag is a little strange. There's currently a mini, medium, large and XL size available, but there's no small size. The mini would barely fit all of my essentials, which is why I ultimately decided to go with the medium.

As some of you may know, purple is my favorite color and the official name of this color is Aubergine. It reminds me of Balenciaga's 2004 Eggplant. You can carry this bag a few different ways; as a clutch, crossbody, or swap the strap and wear it as a shoulder bag.

The only thing I don't love about this bag is the thin strap. For a bag this size, the strap should be at least 3/4 of an inch wide. I have seen a few reviews where the thin strap was a deal breaker. As long as the strap is removable, I have no problem with swapping it out for something better.

For the rest of the mod shots, I am wearing it with a different strap that I had lying around. I have a ton of different straps from other bags and some that I've ordered from Etsy.

The strap I'm wearing in these photos is a black canvas strap that's very adjustable. I can wear it as a shoulder bag, or a crossbody. The strap is about one inch wide and so much more comfortable.

The leather on this bag is very soft and pliable. It has a beautiful drape. The leather feel however is not as buttery as some of my other bags. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to keep this bag at all. In fact I was so close to returning it, but in the end I just love the color and design and decided it was worth adding to my collection.

The Flamenco does remind me of Songmont's Gather bag. I've been eyeing the Gather bag for a long time as well. I haven't pulled the trigger on it because of tariffs. I'm going to wait until it hits a resale site. I would love to do a comparison review between the two bags.

Let's take a closer look at the Flamenco bag.

This is such a minimalist bag. No visible logos except for the one in the top right corner. The newer version does have a Loewe branding on the bottom of the bag in gold which I'm not a fan of. Much prefer the discreet logo.

Made of nappa calfskin leather.

Birds eye view from the top of the bag.

Bottom of the bag does not have any feet.

I love that the edge paint matches the color of the bag. It's one of the reasons why I finally decided to pull the trigger. One of the other colors I was considering was this beautiful Warm Desert.

The main reason I decided against it was the black edge paint. It just looks very sloppy to me. Why they ever went with black boggles my mind. Some colors have matching edge paint, others do not. Just have to look carefully before you buy.

I love the magnetic closure, it's a very strong magnet. The inside is lined with soft suede. There are no pockets on the inside.

The retail price is currently at $3,150. The prices keep going up, which is why I prefer buying on the pre-owned market. I was able to get this for less than half off and it's in excellent condition. The only thing I found was some marks on the inside lining. I'm very happy to add my first Loewe bag to my collection. Don't forget to watch my video if you want to see what fits.

That's it for me, hope you all have a marvelous Monday!

  1. I get the design choice behind the thin straps, it matches the draw strings so it is more cohesive. But I understand practically not the best. Purple is a bold choice compared to the light brown!

    1. Hi AC! Agree, works better with the design, but I think it works with a thicker strap too, which is how I've been wearing it. It's also a pretty dark purple, so I don't think it's too out there!

    1. Hi Lola! It is a great size. Can fit more than just your essentials which I like. The mini I think would have been too small.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
