Fit Review Friday! Anthropologie Store Try-Ons Pilcro Ozzi Plaid Ruffle Sleeve Button Down, Maeve Shrunken Bennet Buttondown, Maeve Colette Magic Fabric Crop Pant

Happy Friday! About 15 years ago I used to love shopping at Anthropolgie. Every Tuesday, Anthro would add items to their sale section, much like Lululemon's WMTM every Thursday. My closet back then used to be 90% Anthro. They had such unique and whimsical pieces that I loved. Even though I don't shop from Anthro as much anymore, I still like to go in to browse.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XXS/XS in Anthropologie tops and size 26/27 in their bottoms. I also wear size 4/6/XS/S in Lululemon and size PXS/0P in Athleta.

This Pilcro button down top looked really cute on the hanger, and I tried it on not realizing how puffy the sleeves would be. I'm wearing size XXS and love the fit. It skims nicely over the body without being tight. The sleeves are just too distracting. The fabric was soft and felt a little gauzy. I love a nice plaid button down, but passed because of the ruffles.

Anthropologie just dropped a dog collection! Before I became a mom to five felines, I used to be a dog mom. This is my grandma walking Chewy and Crunchy. Chewy was my dad's dog and Crunchy was my dog. She was my shadow. Followed me everywhere I went and I happily took her everywhere I went.

Chewy, Grandma, Crunchy

Super old photo of me and Cruncher, I think I was around 21 years old here.

This is a later photo, judging by those Juicy Couture tracksuit pants, probably 2008?

Chewy and Crunchy eventually passed away, I think 2012 for Chewy and 2014 for Crunchy. When I saw Anthopologie's new dog collection, I had to try on the button down shirt! Crunchy wasn't a golden retriever but, she did have that golden colored coat.

I'm wearing size XS and it is slightly oversized. This top does come in petite sizing, but it's all sold out already! I totally underestimated how popular this button down would be. I thought it looked great paired with the matching color pant.

The fabric is 100% cotton, and it is fairly thin and see through but the golden retrievers! I mean, how cute is that? I tell you what, if it had little kittens all over it, I would have bought it anyway. 😹

Last we have a pair of Maeve's wide leg crop pant, except at 26 inches long, they are full length on me. These also come in petite sizing with an inseam of 24 inches. I'm wearing size 27 here and they are very high rise. I'm not a fan of high rise because it just sits well, too high over my belly button and the waist was actually a little too loose. Petite sizing would have fit better, but it would still be too high waisted for my liking. Otherwise I did like the fabric, it's very soft and stretchy.

That's it for me today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hi Leslie! I also liked Anthropologie 15-20 years ago. I used to find their dresses stylish and unique. Over the years, I shifted more to online shopping and purchased less from them because they shipped from the US via DHL and the duties+fees were simply too high. The white button-down shirt with the golden retriever looks really cute! I would probably like it even more if the print were smaller. Have a happy Friday!

    1. Hi Karen! Right?! So unique. I loved their clothes back in the day. The golden retriever button down reminded me of those whimsical pieces I used to love, but I feel like it's still missing something.

  2. They also had some interesting home goods I admired back then. My impression of the place was always “grown up urban outfitters”

    1. Hi AC! Yes! I loved their bedding back in the day. They also had this amazing Alice in Wonderland inspired Chandelier with teacups and saucers and spoons, it was a masterpiece. Free People, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie have the same parent company - URBN.

  3. I used to buy a lot from Anthro with my mom but not the past few years cause their prices and detailing is not the same.

    1. Agree 100%! Without the cute details, it's no longer worth the price.

  4. Love the review of the Anthro dog collection, I'll keep an eye out. Don't have a dog, but hoping to be more settled and then get a dog. Agree with you about the Pilcro plaid ruffle shirt, love everything about it, except the ruffles.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
