Fit Review! Banana Republic The Everyday Linen Shirt

Hope you all had a nice weekend! It's so hot here that I have been living in my linen pieces. Linen shorts, linen tops, and linen button-ups. I have a handful of linen pieces from Athleta and a few from Banana Republic. Between the two brands, Banana Republic has some of the nicest linen I've ever felt.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS or PXS in Banana Republic and Athleta.

also wearing Athleta Midday Mid Rise Short Size XS (on sale)

I normally wear hoodies all the time, but now that it is summer, it's too hot for a hoodie. In its place I like to wear a button-up to throw over my summer outfit. I am loving The Everyday Linen Shirt. The linen is super soft and lightweight. I like to wear it over a tank or tee. I'm wearing size XS and the fit is true to size. I love the Natural color and White. Both colors will go with any outfit. I would have bought both except the retail price is $95. It's not terrible, but I am going to wait for a sale. Both colors are saved in my cart and ready to go! Banana Republic also has a short sleeve cropped version that I am interested in as well. I really like the stripes version as it adds a little bit of fun and flair.

That's it for me! Keeping it short and sweet. Have a fabulous Monday! Stay cool.

  1. Have you ever checked out Quince linen items? Very affordable and very good quality for the price. Same with their cashmere.

    1. Hi there, I have looked at their website but cannot tell if the returns are free or not. Are you familiar with BR and Quince linen? Curious to see if anyone has a comparison. I've read some reviews and they seem very hit or miss.

    2. Unfortunately I don't shop at Banana anymore! Too many good and affordable things on Quince. lol The returns/exchanges on Quince are free for up to 365 days, in unwashed/worn condition with tags still attached.

    3. Good to know! I may give it a shot and see since the returns are free. There is one shirt I am interested in, but the cut doesn't look very petite friendly.

    4. I've watched youtube reviews of Quince items for petites - some things work, some don't. Sometimes Quince offers 3 different lengths for pants, which is really nice.

  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLy51AqJSig This great video just came out - and she compares BR with Quince linen! BR for the win! She thinks Quince's linen is more comparable to J Crew's linen.

    1. Thanks for sending! I will have to watch it later, but good to know BR is better. I have tried J.Crew's linen and wasn't as impressed.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
