Happy June! I love the start to a brand new month. New month, new budget. Crazy things always seem to happen to me. I was shopping in Costco and was there for over an hour. When I got back to the car, I decided to check my email and saw a Bloomingdale's confirmation order for a Coach bag. At first I thought maybe it was a phishing email but it looked extremely good because it contained my address details. At this point, I was trying not to panic. When I got home, I logged into my Bloomingdale's account, and sure enough someone had placed an order for the Coach Brooklyn 28 bag in Dark Stone, and no I did not place an order in my sleep or went shopping while under the influence (I don't drink). Plus this is a shoulder bag and I never buy a shoulder bag simply because they do not stay on my shoulder and slide right off. Quite annoying, and it's why I always either purchase crossbody bags, or top handle bags or a combination of both. But I will never buy a bag that can only be carried on the shoulder. I called Bloomindale's and explained what happened and tried to cancel the order. I was told since it was over 3o minutes since the order was placed, there was nothing they could do. If the bag arrives, I could simply return it. I asked for a replacement card and changed my password to my account. But I wondered, why would someone place an order and not change the shipping address? I guess because then I would know where this person lived. But then, how would they even get the bag? I brought this up to my husband and he said that when the bag ships and if it's FedEx or UPS, the scammer might try and hack into my UPS/FedEx account and change the delivery address to a location pick up. That made me super paranoid and I logged into ALL my accounts and changed all my passwords which took me 2 full days to complete. 😓 I was super stressed out to say the least. The bag arrived so I decided to make the best of it and I might as well review the bag before I returned it! 😆
For reference I am 4 feet 11 inches tall.
It's actually a really cute bag and the size 28 is perfect for my petite frame. I love the look of this bag, and it looks even better in suede. If I could make shoulder bags work, this style would be in my collection. The price point is amazing at only $295! I can't recall the las time I bought a geniune leather bag for under $300.
Dark Stone is a gorgeous neutral. It's a light to medium brown and very much looks the color of latte or chocolate milk depending on the lighting. It's just beautiful.
Let's take a look at the details of the bag.
The leather is smooth with natural veining. It feels very similar to my Coach Empire bags. The bag is not as structured as the Empire line and because of this, it feels softer. It's a super lightweight bag. I don't think it even weighs half a pound. The stitching looks very tight and clean. It comes with a hang tag and I don't love it because it looks a bit cheap. I wish they would have kept the 1941 hang tag.
The back of the bag shows the outline of the inside pocket. It's very well done. For $295, the craftmanship is amazing. The bottom does not have feet and it says Genuine Full Grain Leather in gold.
The inside of the strap has a 1941 stamp. There is a magnetic closure and one pocket on the inside that can hold smaller items like a card case. Don't forget to watch my video to see what fits!
Overall, it is a great shoulder bag with a minimalist vibe. I love it, it's just not for me. Do you have shoulder bags or are you team crossbody? That's it for me! I hope you all have a great start to the first week of June!
P.S. Have you ever had your accounts hacked? Please share if you feel comfortable.

Oh my God it’s scary! I’m glad you changed all the passwords and did receive the bag! My friend’s Amazon account was hacked and she cancelled the account before any damage was done. -_-‘
ReplyDeleteThis Coach shoulder bag is beautiful but you have much nicer bags, Leslie! ;D I love “hybrid bags” which can be worn both as shoulder bags and crossbody bags. I actually find myself wearing crossbody bags 80% of the time these days, and it gives me a sense of security.

Hi Andrea! Right?! I'm sure it was part of a data leak and they managed to get access to my passwords. I'm glad your friend was able to cancel her account too. Totally nerve wracking!
DeleteAgree, crossbody bags for me are the best. I like being hands free.
That is crazy! I am glad no real damage was done, though it was certainly a hassle for you to have to change all your passwords.
ReplyDeleteLately I’ve been into crossbody bags too. Currently I’m carrying a Tory Burch Mini Miller crossbody. But I’d consider the bag you reviewed if I ever found it marked down enough.
PS. As for the hang tag, about 95% of the time I remove them and store in the interior zipper pocket. Unless it’s the nice 1941 tag, I just do not like them. I prefer the sleek styles of Coach bags and the tags detract from that in my opinion.
DeleteSame, I'm relieved I manage to escape unscathed. Definitely worth it to change all my passwords. I should have done it a long time ago. Just have to keep an eye out on the data leaks. It's scary how hackers can just wreck havoc on your life these days.
DeleteThe Tory Burch Mini Miller is cute! Agree, if it's not a 1941 tag, I remove it from the bag too.
That’s crazy and so sorry that happened to you!! I’m glad you were able to change everything and came out unscathed but what a scary thought. At least you got to make the best of it and do a video?
ReplyDeleteHi AC! Lesson learned. Change your passwords as soon as you know it was part of a data leak! Still so strange that they ordered a Coach bag of all things lol.
