Happy Friday! I can't believe it's the last day of May. This month really flew by for me, and I've been trying to get my steps in everyday. My average is almost 12,000 steps each day for the year so far. On the weekends I walk a little more and sometimes I hit 15,000 steps a day. My Allbirds have not been cutting it for anything over 12,000 steps. I think they're great for a casual walker, but if you're walking at a fast clip and you're walking around 5 miles, you need something a little more supportive. Which made me branch out to trying new brands. Here are my first impressions of the Hoka Clifton 10.
For reference I wear size 5.5 in Allbirds and I'm also wearing the same size in Hoka.
Hoka Clifton 10 White/White Size 5.5
This is the first sneaker brand that I have seen in a long time that offers size 4 in women's. That is amazing for petite feet! I'm wearing my normal street size 5.5 and they fit nicely. The toe box is roomy enough for me to wear thick socks without any pinching.
The outside of the shoe features jacquard knit mesh. The Clifton 10 is a very lightweight shoe and feels like you're walking on a memory foam footbed. It's very plushy. These are made for running and everyday walking. I haven't had any issues on my first 4 mile walk. I'll eventually try running in these as well.
There is one thing I don't really like and that is the huge Hoka logo on the side of the shoe. I'm just not a fan of big logos in general which is why I bought these in white. The logo is more subtle and not in your face as much.
This is what the bottom of the sole looks like after a 4 mile walk.
I don't normally film videos for shoe reviews, but someone actually asked for one, so here you go! Snoopy makes an appearance. 😸
Hokas Clifton 10 White/White Size 5.5
This is my first pair of white sneakers and they are super white. I wonder how they will hold up in the long run. I couldn't find any cleaning instructions on the website, I'm betting you can't throw these in the washing machine.
These shoes have a neutral feel but are soft and plushy while walking. So far, I am really enjoying this pair from Hoka. I also have a pair of On shoes that I will be reviewing next week! Stay tuned. That's it for me! Do you have a pair of Hokas? Let me know in the comments. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Love the reflective detail!

You’re very brave to get pure white sneakers!
ReplyDeleteI wear Hoka Speed Goats and love them for hiking in the mountains and long walks in the city. They come in bright colors that definitely aren’t unobtrusively.
Hi there, I just looked up the Speed Goats and yes they are pretty noticeable. I'll see how I like the Clifton 10s before I try another pair of Hokas.
DeleteHOKA sure looks comfortable! How do you get in 12k a day, are you in a super walkable city? I am looking forward to your upcoming ON review, I always wanted to pull the trigger on one of those. I am getting ready to get shoes for running and leaning towards Asics.
ReplyDeleteHI AC! I am not in a walkable city at all. I have to make an effort to get my steps in. I have an Apple watch so whenever I get the alert I need to get up and walk every hour, I head to the gym in my office building and walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes. I usually manage to do this about 3-4 times a day plus my hour at the gym during my lunch break where I will walk/run for 15 min. After work sometimes I'll get a little extra walking in if we go out for errands or dinner. On the weekends I get about 15K to make up for the days I didn't make my steps. On the days I work from home, I usually don't make the 10K.
DeleteOh wow! That’s super amazing you can get those 10 minute fitness snacks and lunch gym sessions in. I just find that being able to stand at the office instead of sitting has already been a huge improvement in alertness.
DeleteYeah the exercise snacks makes the day go by faster too. The gym helps even more. I really need to use the standing desk more. I tried, but my feet got tired kind of quick. I guess it is something you have to build up to.
