Does anyone else feel like Lululemon has lost their way? They are really pushing out designs geared toward teens and most of this drop is not for me at all. I've been feeling this way about Lulu for a while now. Last year I spent about $2000 on Lululemon. This year I have a feeling it might be half that amount. My bank account isn't complaining that's for sure. In other news, Athleta is having their Warehouse Sale! I haven't browsed the sale yet, but I will see if there's anything that was on my wishlist that went on markdown. Anything for you today? Let me know in the comments if you have fallen out of love with Lululemon.
(I have one of these in Taupetastic, love the feel and comfort but it does look a bit frumpy on me.)
(This outfit is cute.)
(I am not into bright yellow.)

I know what you mean, and I hate to say it, but I'm not nearly as excited about Lulu drops as I used to be. In my opinion, the pieces were much better a few years ago. When I would order something, it would feel like I was getting something special. These days, a lot of the pieces being offered feel like fast fashion to me, and it's much too pricey to be giving off that vibe. Also, I'm salty that Lulu steadfastly refuses to offer petite sizing. There are still a few things that I think are worth the investment (I really like their shoes), but I'm finding I'm shopping elsewhere for street clothes and I'm prefering activewear from other brands now. I want to support a Canadian business, so I will still check out the site every week, but I sure am buying a lot less from them.
ReplyDeleteHi Lola! Yes, I used to be so excited for Lulu drops. Now I just look because it's a habit. But I'm shopping a lot less and looking at other brands for sure. But at the same time I'm also trying to spend less this year and it is working. Still haven't placed an order for Varley or Vuori, which is on my wishlist, but just not feeling like it. I think I'm way more focused on my bags! I really want to try a pair of Lulu Beyondfeel running shoes, but I already have so many Allbirds that I would have to get rid of some before I buy anymore.
DeleteI haven't tried the Beyondfeel running shoes (I don't run....ever...lol), but I've tried the Chargefeels and the Strongfeels. I love the Chargefeels for cardio/HIIT, and I use the Strongfeels for lifting. I'm embarrassed to say I'm starting to amass a bit of a collection....
DeleteAnd speaking of Vuori, I saw that some items in Cosmic Heather went on sale, so I snapped up the Modern Full-Zip Hoodie. I got it in xs, and it fits great. Very petite friendly- the sleeves aren't too long, and the length hits at my hips. It was still a little pricey even at the sale price, but I'm keeping it. The color is just too good, and it's comfy!
Ohhh! Thanks for the heads up on the Modern Full Zip Hoodie! I think I may place an hour now. hahaha!
DeleteThe Performance Joggers in that color are marked down too! I wanted them too, but I only allowed myself one thing, and I'll wear the hoodie more.
DeleteI have a lot of their joggers, so I ordered the hoodie and the Villa Joggers that I have been eyeing.
DeleteSince I have enough basic workout clothes and like pieces I can add to casual and streetwear attire I do like that LLL is trying new styles but the huge logos and branding make it off putting so I haven’t bought from them either. Plus the prices are not worth it to me anymore unless they go on sale or the occasional item I like…

Hi Janessa! Agree with you 100%. I'm definitely looking elsewhere, mainly Vuori and Varley, Anthro, but haven't really purchased much this year. I am trying to scale back on clothing and focus more on handbags! =T
DeleteYes, I completely agree. I tend to only look at Lulu in case they come out with a particular color that I really want...like a deep purple. But, even then, I'd probably only get shorts or leggings and a Love tee in that color. A staple design or two. I'm not into all the newer designs. It is absolutely being marketed towards teens and younger. I just went to science camp with my son, and nearly every 6th grade girl was wearing aligns or studio pants. There were even a few that wore Lulu skorts over their leggings. There were some Scuba Oversized Half-Zips. There were handful of Aviator Nation tees, but it was predominately Lulu. Sort of related, they needed mom chaperones to stay with the girls. I observed that they spent a big chunk of their time doing "skin care routines" using fancy brands from Sephora and spend a good 60-90 minutes on their routines. Lots of masks, under eye patches, Laneige, Summer Fridays, Fenty. This is generation fancy, LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! I've been seeing a lot of teenage girls all wearing Lulu these days. Define Jackets, the pleated skirts, shorts, etc... I see a lot of older women wearing Alo. Also see a lot of AN, but mixed ages. I'm always shocked when I see kids wear AN items. But I guess they do have a kids line, so I shouldn't be, but back in the day my mom would never spend that kind of money on me, especially for clothes lol.
DeleteI LOLd at Generation Fancy. I love it!
