Fit Review Friday! My First Lulu Purchase of 2025 and Athleta Skyline High Rise Barrel Leg Pant

Happy Friday! Believe it or not, but this Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5" in Hawaiian Blue is the first Lululemon purchase I made in 2025. This is unheard of for me, ever since I discovered them in 2014. I don't think I've ever gone more than a month or two without buying something from Lulu. Lately their drops just haven't been exciting to me at all, but I seem to run out of shorts more than anything else I wear and need some more so I am not doing laundry all the time. I'll eventually pick up a couple more pairs.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 or XS/Small in Lululemon. I also wear size PXS in Athleta.

I am super happy to see Hawaiian Blue making a comeback. It is such a bright happy shade of blue. I'm wearing my usual size 4. I'm not quite a size 6 in these shorts. Size 4 fit fine in the waist, but I feel like my hips are a little bigger, or these are cut a little smaller in the hips, I can't tell. That said, this style is still my favorite pair of workout/running short.

Next, we have a fit request from Cindy for Athleta's Skyline HR Barrel Leg Pant. The store did not have petite sizing for me to try on, so these are regular size 2.

I was surprised the inseam is 27" and they didn't drag on the floor, but they are a bit bunchy from the front. They still look fine, just a bit baggy but I think that's the trend these days. These pants have zero stretch in them, which is why I am wearing size 2. If I ate a big lunch I would probably be uncomfortable in these.

These are high rise, the waistband hits above my belly button. From the front, the barrel leg is evident, and to be honest, I don't get this trend at all. I don't think these pants are flattering. It just reminds me of kids teasing each other for being bow-legged. How this became a fashion trend is beyond me. 😆

I did like the feel of the material, it's structured, similar to denim. Since these are not stretchy at all, it's an easy pass for me. That's it for me! Let me know what you think of the barrel pant trend! Do you have a pair? Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. The shorts are a beautiful color.

I am also not a fan of barrel leg pants. However, I did get a pair of wide leg pants from Athleta that I love. They are the Maeve Colette pants. They are meant to be cropped but I got the regular length, not petite, and they are full length on me.

    1. I'm assuming you meant Anthropologie! I looked at those pants online just now, the length would be perfect, but that high rise of 12.5" would be too much. Love the colors they're offering.

    2. Sorry, definitely meant anthro!

  2. I still don’t get and won’t get behind the barrel leg/super baggy pants trend! I know fashion is cyclical but I’m going to leave my high school days fashions behind 😅 I just feel like the denim especially makes a lot of people look frumpy with no shape, but hey maybe it’s super comfortable 🤷‍♀️

It is nice to see that you have come back around to Lululemon again, sometimes they just have a must have color?

    1. Hi AC! Totally agree, I still prefer straight leg over wide leg, but barrel pants are a definite no for me. Maybe they are comfy, but that's not a look I like even a little bit.

Hawaiian Blue is one of those must have colors! I wouldn't mind adding some sort of top in the color for summer. Here's hoping!

  3. I'm not usually a blue person, but Hawaiian blue is a gorgeous color!

I don't understand the barrel leg trend either. I don't think it's a flattering look at all. Wide leg, however, is totally my jam! I hope the trend sticks around for a while.

    1. I think Wide Leg's stick around a few more years. I hope the Barrel Leg goes away soon though haha.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
