Fit Review! Varley Davidson Sweatshirt and Hawley Half Zip Sweatshirt

Happy March! If you're joining me for this month's No Buy challenge, first step is to unsubscribe to all marketing emails and texts. I already unsubscribed to a lot of emails back in January when I did this challenge, but I can still unsubscribe to a few more. It's helped a lot. Just not being exposed everyday to ads and reminders to shop really works. Out of sight, out of mind. Other tips- try and limit your time on social media. There's an app on my phone that locks you out after a set time. I limit myself to an hour each day across all social media platforms. You got this!

Today's post is another Varley fit review. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. I typically wear size 4/6 in Lululemon and size PXS in Athleta.

I'm obsessed with their Double Soft fabric. I actually may like it just as much as Softstreme and Seasoft. It's that good. Varley's tops seem to run large. I'm wearing size XS and the sleeves are a tad too long for my tastes. They bunch up a bit more than I prefer. However, Varley does offer size XXS, the store I was at just didn't carry it.

The length seems fine. Hits right at the hips. I am not completely loving the neckline on this sweatshirt, but it is super comfy. The fabric feels very soft and cool but not as heavy as Softstreme or Seasoft. This is more fluffy and cloud-like. Price is $128 which is maybe a tad more expensive than Lululemon. I think if this were Lulu, it would be priced around $118.

Next up, we have another pullover sweatshirt. This is the Hawley Half Zip in Taupe Marl. I'm wearing size XS and again it is too oversized. Just a little too much fabric in the sleeves and body. I haven't gotten around to placing an order, but I really do like this top. Price is even more expensive. This one is $138. 😒

Just too much fabric in the sleeves and body. But I cannot deny how comfy these sweatshirts are. I'm usually not a huge fan of any pullover sweatshirts, but this one has my vote. I'm also eyeing the Catherine Half Zip Sweatshirt. It features a very large collar, but I kinda love it. I will make a Varley purchase in April, unless by then it's too hot for long sleeve pullovers, then I saved myself some money. 😅

That's it for me, hope you all have a wonder start to the first week of March! 😊

  1. I won’t do a full march buying ban, maybe a soft one and see how it goes. I never was inclined to get quarter zip pull over sweaters, not sure why, just wasn’t my thing!

    1. Hi AC! Yay, a soft ban is great too!

Yeah I definitely prefer full zips over 1quarter or 1/2 zips, but the fabric on these are so amazing and comfy that I would get one.

  2. I actually recently purchased the Davidson pullover and I’m obsessed. It’s great for lounging, coverup for the gym and even appropriate to wear to the club for golf. It’s so soft!!!

    1. Hi there! Isn't the Double Soft fabric the best? I'm obsessed too. Will wait for April though. Hopefully they will still have size XXS. What color did you get?

  3. I have the Hawley sweatshirt in Withered Rose. Yes, I love the fabric. I also think the tops, especially the Betsy, look more put together than Lululemon offerings. However, I really hate having to lay flat to dry any Double Soft fabric from Varley. This is a must or wrinkles will set in. I am 4'10 and take my sweatshirts in for sleeve alteration. In the past few months, I have purchased a week's worth of outfits, and now am banning myself from buying any more.

    1. I totally agree, Varley's style is more elevated/sophisticated than Lulu and Athleta. I may be venturing over to Varley more. How long have you been buying from Varley? Has the quality held up over time? Good to know about it having to absolutely laid flat to dry.

      Welcome to the no-buy challenge!

  4. they look so soft and cozy. I wonder how the double soft fabric will hold up. I've been curious about the athleta barrel leg pants. any chance you can do a fit review? Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy, unsure how the fabric will hold up. I purchased a pair of their joggers last month. I'll report back any findings.

I'll keep an eye out for the Skyline Barrel pant at Athleta. If I see it I'll do a store try-on. Thanks!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
