Fit Review! Lululemon Swiftly High Low Cropped Short Sleeve Shirt, Shake It Out High Rise Running Short 2.5 Inch, Cates Tee

Can't believe we're in the last week of March! How is your No Buy month coming along? I broke it once for Athleta's Retreat Linen Mid Rise Short. I ordered it in two colors, Black and Eden. They arrived on Friday and I'm happy to say the XS is the right size. I'm very happy pleased with them.

For today's post I went to Lululemon on two different days and I'm combining them in one post. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 and size XS/S in Lululemon.

I actually really like the Swiftly High Low Cropped Short Sleeve Shirt. My only complaint is the slightly small neck opening. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and I really like the fit and length. It's also super comfortable. I know some may not like the Lululemon logo front and center and I am one of them, but it's fairly subtle and not too in your face.

Here we have the Shake It Out High Rise Running Short 2.5" in Red Glow. I'm wearing size small. There's a lot of fabric on these shorts. Janessa had mentioned in one of her comments that it looks like a skort and I have to agree. Personally, I think it adds a little too much volume on my hips and makes me look wider.

(Swiftly is just slightly shorter in the front and longer in the back.)

The waistband hits slightly above my belly button and there's not a lot of stretch to the waistband. In the end, I still think my favorite shorts are the Hotty Hots.

(This color is growing on me. I really like it!)

Went back to Lululemon again to see if they had anything in Sheer Oak for me to try on. Here is Sheer Oak in the Cates Tee and Shake It Out High Rise Running Short. I sort of feel like this could pass for summer pajamas! 😂 Sheer Oak to me looks like a mix of Beige and Gray.

I noticed the shorts look very wrinkly in these photos. I can cross out the shorts from my wishlist. But I do kinda like the Cates Tee. I already have a handful of them and wear them in the summer. I like how thin and lightweight they are. I'm wearing my usual size 4. I feel like Lululemon may have made these tees even wider? It does look pretty cute with my Vuori Performance Jogger

That is it for me! Let me know what you think of these items. Oh and if you have a few minutes to spare, I have a new video up on my YouTube Channel. 😍

  1. Leslie , sheer oak or any color in general may look different depending on the fabric. It’s very lovely in the softstreme material. It’s a little hard to tell in your pictures if the colour looks the same as in the Softsteme pants I bought. I’m in Tokyo now. Popped into Lulu. They have some Asia fit items but I didn’t try anything on because even though our Canadian dollar is strong against the yen , I think the products might end up costing more in Japan for me. The USD being so strong, it may off set the higher prices much better than our dollar and might even end up costing less for Americans. I don’t know if you’ve been to Japan before but it’s absolute heaven for everything from the cultural, shopping and food aspect. It’s not just a place to visit once in your lifetime but a regular destination for me imo. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! I would love to go do Japan. Maybe next year. I would still try the Asia Fit items on even if you aren't going to buy just to see how different the fit is! How often do you go to Japan?

    2. Japan is #1 on my international travel list, Cindy! Hope you have a great trip.

Leslie, I agree about the small neck hole on the Swiftly. Good to know it’s not just me with a giant head and thick neck or something, lol! I also passed on the shorts. My favs are now the Pace Rival Shorts - formally Lightweight Long Liner/Court Rival Short.

    3. Thank you so much for the fit review!! I am going to pass on the shorts cause it looks like way too much fabric and I don’t run anyways. I still like the sheer oak color after seeing your photos but I don’t like how the shorts are so wrinkly. It also does look like a skort but doesn’t look enough like a skirt for going out either like an actual tennis skirt.

  3. I agree, those shorts have way too much fabric! You’ve modeled many more flattering styles.

As a runner I can imagine all that fabric causing chafing. Painful!

    1. Yikes! Definitely don't want chafing!

    2. This is only the second time I’ve been to Japan and the first time was about 6 months ago. I definitely want to go at least once a year from now on. I’m hoping I can make it happen!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
