Fit Review Friday! Athleta Store Try On Essential Slub Tee and Retreat Linen Short Sleeve Shirt

Happy Friday! Warm weather is starting to arrive and I've been looking for new linen pieces to add to my summer wardrobe. I have a few pieces from Athleta from last year and really love them. When I saw the Retreat Linen Short Sleeve Shirt I was very interested in trying it on.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS in Athleta.

This Essential Slub Tee is very thin, and almost feels like linen but not quite. I'm wearing size XS and I think it has a very nice relaxed fit. Eden is definitely a teal color that will work with my wardrobe. I will probably pick this up after my No Buy Challenge is over.

The neck opening is very comfortable. The length hits at my lower hip, but doesn't feel too long. It's a great casual tee for summer. Can also use this for layering in the fall too.

Next up we have the Retreat Linen Short Sleeve Shirt. I tried this on in XXS and XS to see which size I liked more. I'm wearing size XXS here and it fits very well.

It looks fine unbuttoned, but I just don't know how to style it because of the short length. It hits at the hip. It's a little too short, for my taste. The linen feels soft and very comfortable. Love the Undyed color too. It's a great neutral for summer.

Here is size XS in Eden. It fits loose, and more boxy. I think size XS is a little too boxy. But boy do I love the color. This color does come in the long sleeve version, so I may pick that up once my No Buy Challenge is over.

Honestly, I wanted to love this, but I just don't know how to make it work. The cut is just a little off in both sizes. I took this off my wish list. What are your thoughts on this top? Let me know in the comments below. That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. 😀

  1. Hi Leslie! I think the linen shirt in XXS looks good on you! The slightly boxy and cropped fit is flattering. If this comes in long sleeves, I think it can be worn unbuttoned as a light outer layer for sun coverage! What do you think?

    1. Hi Karen! I think I would probably prefer the long sleeves over short, but there's already a long sleeve top like this but also longer in length. Unsure if they would release another version. It's possible...

  2. I have the tshirt in three colors (two from last fall and the current blue color). I tried in the linen shirt but the store did not have the natural color in a small. I was going to go home and order it, but I went to the Anthro in the same center where I bought a pair of pants. So much for my no-buy March.

    2. Hi there, the undyed and Eden colors are so good. It's okay, don't be so hard on yourself, I also broke my no-buy for Athleta linen shorts! They were on sale... but if that's the only thing you bought it's still a win in my book.

  3. I like the undyed linen color a lot! It’s such a pretty neutral. I love LLL butter cream color. I got the tank and cap and it brightens my complexion! I am Asian around NC15? I want it in a bow hair tie!

Happy Friday! I am not a fan of the giant LLL logo on the crew neck and pants

    1. Hi Janessa! I am shocked that Butter Cream brightens up your skin tone. I would have never expected that! Will have to go check it out in person and see if it helps me. lol.

Yeah not a fan either of the giant logos, but it does remind me of Gap or Juicy from the aughts haha.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
