New Releases Week of January 21st 2025

Interesting drop today. It really looks like there's no more numerical sizing on new styles, both tops and bottoms. I probably won't order online as often and will rely on store try-ons more. Only 10 more days to go! For those not on a shopping break, did you pick anything up to try? I'm really curious for those who have tried the alpha sizing, what do you think? Do you find yourself in-between sizes?

(Would love these, but inseam is still 29.5" I'll try to catch these at the store for a try-on. If anyone gets these at their store and sees my comment let me know what you think!)

(Of course, the short length doesn't get Solar Gray. 😒 I also think I've seen Billie Eilish in a similar outfit.)

(They are really marketing towards Gen Z now. Makes me feel old.)

😐

(Did I tell you that I used to work at the Gap back when I was in college? This totally brings back memories. 😆)

😍

(They have really given up on the numerical sizing. 😞)

(This is kind of cute. Love the color.)

  1. Those Daydrift Trousers really caught my eye, but a 29.5 inch inseam is a definite no-go. Can we please get an extra-short, Lulu??

I'm bummed they seem to be getting rid of the numerical sizing! I don't have a store in my city to try things on, so I'll be ordering a lot less as well.

    1. Hi Lola! Yeah same, but I'm still curious to see how it would look, and maaaaybe if it was super fabulous I would get them hemmed for work. But seriously, extra short would be amazing.

  2. I am eyeing the Daydrift High Rise Trouser and would definitely give it a try if Solar Gray is available in short length.

So bummed about the new alpha sizing.

    1. Hi Andrea! Yeah I agree, why not for short lengths? Maybe next week?

  3. The trousers and long Softstreme half zip is so pretty! I definitely want something in solar grey… you are not even old!
Is it the styling that makes their marketing towards gen z? I can’t even keep track of all the gens now xD but I think the outfit is cute and I like that there’s more differences in styles than just the usual gym wear

    1. Hi Janessa! Haha, thanks! But yes some of the styling now is very Gen Z, the crop tops with the wider bottoms and oversized jackets slung over it. It's a cute look for sure. But agree, I like seeing clothing that's not gym wear. I am loving Solar Gray, especially for a pair of pants.

  4. OMG Club Blue is so pretty - hoping to see more in the coming weeks.

We got the Daydrift Trousers in on Monday. Since they are Luxtreme, they remind me a lot of the On the Fly Pant. I will try them on tonight and report back. Numerical sizing is going away to align with other retailers using alpha sizing. It also means fewer SKUs - which I think is the real reason. Since I am all over the place with numerical sizing any way, it doesn't both me too much.

    1. Hi LZ! Def let us know about the Daydrift Trousers! I'm going to see if I lean more towards XS or Small and once I feel more confident about guessing the right size I'll probably order online again, but for now, it's a little too unknown.

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
