Fit Review Friday! Varley Slim Cuff 25 Pant and Pilcro Asymmetrical Button Cashmere Cardigan Sweater

Happy Friday! It's January 31st and we made it! It's funny because the photos for this review were literally taken on January 1st.  It was the very first day of my No Buy Challenge. I went to Anthropologie to get some steps in and just to walk around and do some try-ons, not expecting to really like anything. And then I stumbled upon Varley. It almost made me break my ban on the very first day. 😆 I told myself, I'm not gonna let that happen. I walked away and said if I still want it on February 1st, I can buy it then. So here we are, I'm hours away from finally buying my first pair of Varley pants!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 in Lululemon and PXS in Athleta.

Balenciaga Rodeo Size Small

The artistic side of me said this was a good shot.

The sweater I'm wearing is Pilcro's Asymmetrical Button Cashmere Cardigan. It's 100% cashmere and feels soft and warm. I really love the neckline. I'm wearing size XS and kind of wish the length was a bit longer. I could probably size up for a looser fit. Price is a little steep at $198, but I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if it goes on sale.

The moment I touched these pants, I became obsessed with the fabric. It's soooooo soft, the fabric is called DoubleSoft. I'm wearing size small in these and I was surprised at the fit. The length is 25 inches long, which is perfect for petites.

How good do these look?

The waistband is wide and stretchy. I'm wearing size small and I think they look great. They are super comfy. Size XS would probably fit Lululemon size 2. Size small is equivalent to Lululemon size 4 and 6. Similar to Lululemon's current alpha sizing I suppose! Except Varley actually makes petite friendly inseams which I appreciate so much.

Pricing is $120 for these joggers, which I will happily pay. Just take my money! They also come in a more professional style with rolled cuffs, which I am totally going to buy. I love wearing pants that feel like your favorite pair of pajamas but look professional enough for the office.

😍

That's it for me! Let me know how you did if you participated in the challenge and what will your first purchase be? Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Happy February! We made it!

  1. The sweater looks so nice, I am a sucker for asymmetrical neck lines and the price reflects the 100% cashmere I guess. Pants are cute and a good length!

I ended up breaking and getting a super puff jacket, in black. Second last day of the month is close enough 😊 other than that, this challenge was not as difficult as I thought as there’s not a lot out there I find are must haves and being busy all month also helps curb spending.

    1. Hi AC! Yes I love that sweater, the neckline is very different from anything I have. Would love to get it on sale.

Not bad at all! I agree, it wasn't that challenging but the first couple of days were the hardest and the worst. Then after I get over that, it was fine.

  2. I survived January with no purchases for me! I’m the one who got a Labrador puppy at the end of December. I think I wore the same four outfits all of the month. At this point in my/her life, new clothes are not a good investment!

    1. Woo hoo! Congratulations! I can't believe how little I spent last month, it blew my mind. It was my best month ever. Super eye opening as to how much I could save every month! I'm almost tempted to keep the challenge going. How do you feel at the end of the month? I agree with a new puppy, new clothes are not ideal.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
