Fit Review Friday! Frank & Eileen Belfast Trench and Eileen Relaxed Button Up Shirt

Happy Friday! There's only one week left in January. I can hardly believe it. For those who are participating in the No Buy January challenge, when the clock strikes midnight and it's officially February 1st, what are your plans? Will you go ahead and purchase the things you've been eyeing or will you hold off a little longer? I'm definitely going to place a Varley order. Coach Western Tabby is also on my wishlist and I want to see if that's a handbag I would add to my collection. There is a pair of On shoes I want to try. That's just a few things off the top of my head. 😅

Now onto this post. Back in December (which feels like ages ago, Frank & Eileen had a 25% off sale which they almost never do and I have been enjoying my Frank & Eileen pieces, so I placed an order. I love the Mini Belfast and have been eyeing the full trench version and decided to pull the trigger.

For reference I'n 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size 4/6 in Lululemon and Petite XS in Athleta. (I know I'll have to update the Lululemon to alpha sizing eventually, but for now let's leave it at 4/6.)

This triple fleece trench coat is sooooo soft, it's like wearing your favorite sweatshirt but in the form of a trench coat. One review I read said it felt like wearing a robe and that's also pretty accurate. I don't own a trench coat and have always wanted one to look like Eponine from Les Misérables. I'm pretty sure I have a hat somewhere in my closet so I can cosplay her or at least wear it as next year's Halloween costume. 😆

I'm wearing size XS and it's roomy enough to layer. I do think it doesn't look as cute when it's buttoned all the way up. This whole month of January has been freezing, so I haven't worn this out yet, but I can't wait to wear it when we get some spring weather. I've also got to find my hat. 😅

I'm also looking forward to pairing it with my Mila.Jito Mirus Puffy bag. 😍 The sleeves are a little long, but this is the kind of jacket that works with cuffed sleeves, which is what I'll do. The length of the jacket actually hits right about my knee and I couldn't be happier. It doesn't look too long on my petite frame. It's also a little roomy in the shoulders but again it still works. This trench coat is a forgiving style.

Next up, I've been eyeing this Italian flannel button up shirt in charcoal blue plaid, it's right up my alley. And when I took it out of the box, I said, "ohhhhh this is soft". It's very cozy and warm. I've already worn this button up shirt a handful of times. I like to throw it over my tops and will wear it with jeans and joggers.

I should have taken pictures of this unbuttoned, it's actually how I prefer to wear it. I'm wearing size XS and it is a relaxed fit. I would size down for a more fitted look as they do offer size XXS.

The length is long, it offers 100% coverage in the back for me.

You can tell this shirt is high quality because of how the plaid lines up with the front pocket. It is seamless. It's a perfect grid and so well made. Frank & Eileen prices are steep, but they use high quality materials and pay attention to detail. I have five pieces in my closet so far and really love wearing them.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. That trench is so cool! I love how it's kind of tailored, kind of slouchy. It looks so comfortable, and I can't wait to see you style it with your hat!

Well, I caved on my no-buy and ordered the Cityverse Sneaker in Mushroom when I saw they went on sale. I had a gift card from Christmas to use as well, so at least I didn't spend a ton of my own money. As penance, I'm going to no-buy for the first week in February as well. My birthday is in February, so I don't think I can do much longer than that, lol!

    1. Thanks Lola! I really love it the trench. Has to be one of my favorite pieces from F&E so far.

Ohhh I did see the Cityverse went on sale and I was tempted to give it a try but I am holding off. I really want to make it to the end of January since we're so close. My birthday is in February as well! Another Aquarian?

    2. Yeah, I thought of holding out, but decided I'd be bummed if my size sold out before then. None of the other colors were interesting to me.

      I'm a Pisces!

    3. Ah my husband is a Pisces but his birthday is in March.

You said for the Cityverse sneakers you sized down half a size, correct? Just in case they're still available in my size when my ban is over.

      Thanks!

    4. I went with a size 5. I'm a size 5 in the other Lulu shoes as well. Hopefully they will work!

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
