Fit Review Friday! Athleta Store Try Ons Softluxe Crop Hoodie and Softluxe High Rise Legging

Happy Friday and Happy November! Halloween is over and now we're speeding towards the holidays. It'll be 2025 before you know it. I'm looking forward to seeing what holiday items Athleta and Lululemon has in store for us. I'm hoping for more plush/fleece/velour items. I did manage to drop by Athleta to see if they had the Softluxe line for me to try. I was really looking for the Softluxe HR Jogger, but they only had the hoodie and leggings in stock.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size Petite XS in Athleta. I also wear size 4/6 in Lululemon.

When I picked up this hoodie, the first thing I noticed was how small it was. These run at least one size small, if not two. I'm wearing a regular size small here and it was tight. It was comfortable, but very slim fitting. If I wanted a more casual fit, I would probably opt for another size up. These do come in petite sizing, and I would probably try the petite medium if I'm being honest. I think the petite small would be too tight for my liking. If in doubt, size up.

I really love the ribbing detail at the cuffs. I'm also a fan of the heathered look and love the color. It's hard to describe, but I would say it's a brownish gray.

The fabric is soft, and reminds me of Lululemon's Rulu fabric. It feels buttery soft with a decent amount of compression. The weight of the fabric is thick and substantial. This is labeled as a cropped hoodie, and for the most part I would agree, but it still hits at the hip for me. I like the length a lot and it wasn't too short on me. If you're looking for a jacket like this, I would recommend it, but consider sizing up!

I'm wearing size small in these leggings and boy are they tight! I could barely get them up over my hips. I'm not sure why these run so small. Once they're on, they feel okay if you like compression. I personally prefer the feeling of Nulu, so I would probably want to size up to a petite medium, which is crazy because I've never had to wear a medium from Athleta, like ever!

According to the website, the inseam for the regular length is 27.5 inches and they are very long on me. There is ribbing at the cuff as well. The petite inseam measures 25.5 inches.

While I left both of these items behind, I'm still interested in trying the Softluxe High Rise Jogger, but curious to know if I should size up. After reading the reviews, no one has mentioned they run small, so I may give my regular size a try. That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

WMTM Update

(Super tempted to get this, I haven't ordered one in a long time. Do they still run true to size?)

(I tried this on in a size small, and while it looked really cute it was a little scratchy.)

(Has anyone tried this? I'm sure it's massive and I would need an XXXS.)

(I hope they bring this back in more fun colors. Would love it in Deep Luxe or Garnet.)

  1. Thanks for the fit reviews on the Softluxe stuff! I was eyeballing that jacket, so it's good to hear that it fits small - I won't be ordering it unless it goes on sale, but I would have totally gone for the wrong size! Hopefully a few more colors come out as well.

    1. Hi Lola! I was shocked when I saw how small size XS was. No way I could ever get that on. I would be interested to see more items from this line as well. I really liked the feel of the fabric.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
