FIt Review! Aviator Nation 5 Stripe Hoodie Faded Grape & Splendid Georgie Polo Button Down Plus Allbirds 30% off Sale!

My Faded Grape Aviator Nation hoodie arrived! I love it. I also placed an order for Splendid Georgie Polo Button Down to try. It's been many years since I bought anything from Splendid, so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of sizing.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS in Aviator Nation. For Splendid, I am also wearing size XS.

Before I get into the fit review, I just posted a new comparison video between the Coach Empire 40 versus the Row Margaux 12. If you're interested in either one of these bags, check it out and let me know what you think!

Faded Grape is amazing! It's slightly faded on the front and the back and it almost gives it a velvety look. The fit is similar to my other faded Aviator Nation hoodies I just reviewed, so I won't bore you with repeated details.  Enjoy the photos!

Most sizes are currently sold out, but I do believe Aviator Nation will restock considering how popular they are. Size XS tends to sell out quickly, so if you do see it available, don't wait too long to check out.

Next up, we have this polo button down shirt from Splendid. I imagined myself wearing this to the office when I placed the order. I am wearing size XS and it's semi-fitted. I think the hemline looks a little frumpy. Not sure I love the look, I think cardigans are more my speed.

This button down does have some nice details like this side slit. It is super soft, on the website it's made of Cashblend (it has a hint of cashmere) which explains the high price tag, but I didn't think the quality was all that great. While it is soft, it's also very delicate and I didn't think it would hold up in the long run, especially with my five cats.

That said, it is super comfortable. The comfort factor almost made me want to keep it, but didn't think it was flattering enough to sway me to. I did like the ribbing, it adds texture to the outfit.

The buttons and the holes for the buttons were concerning. I felt that the holes for the buttons were too small and I had to really force the buttons through which I did not like. In the end, I returned this after debating for a while.

That is it for this review. Let me know what you think and check out the Allbirds sale below! Have a great Monday!

  1. Faded Grape is the prettiest of the four colors, Leslie! Are you keeping the AV hoodie in both Berry and Faded Grape?

The Splendid Georgie Polo Button Down is such a versatile sweater and Tawny Heather is a nice neutral color. I think it will be easier to button up the sweater over times and I'd rather the button holes be too small than too big. I have a sweater that tends to unbutton itself and it's really annoying!

I wonder if the Canadian market is too small and we are not getting some of the styles/colors you have in US. I gave up waiting for Rugged Purple to show up and all we have on the Canadian sites are boring colors. Oh well, at least my wallet is safe!

    1. Hi Andrea! Yep, I am keeping both, Faded Berry and Faded Grape are my favorites. I think I'm hoodied out now. =D

Ah I can see how too big of a button hole would be annoying just the same! I guess I'm Goldilocks. Is that too much to ask lol. It has to be just right!

Oh really. I am surprised Rugged Purple hasn't made it there yet. =(

  2. I think the Faded Grape is my favorite of all the AV hoodies you have purchased so far! Such a pretty color!

Not a huge fan of the button-down. I like the color, and it does look really comfy, but it is a little rumpled-looking, in my opinion. Maybe if the bottom hem was different I'd like it more...

And I too have given up on Rugged Purple to show up on the Canadian site. Lately there hasn't been anything too exciting showing up as far as new releases go either. I don't hate the Blizzard/Multi colorway in the Tree Runner Go, but for $155, I'd better love them.

    1. Hi Lola! Yep, Faded Grape did not disappoint. I hope they don't release anymore colors because after buying three, I think I'm done with hoodies for a while.

I agree, the button down just doesn't look great. It could be cuter.

Wow I didn't realize there were so many colors for the Tree Runner Go. While I do like them and I think I have two pairs, I don't reach for them as much as the other styles like the Tree Dasher 2, Tree Flyers and Tree Gliders.

  3. HI Leslie! Faded grape is gorgeous on you! What do you think of the new faded cross stripe pullover hoodies? I really want to order one!

    1. Hi there! The stripes are bolder and wider but I have a bunch of pullover hoodies from AN and love them. Super comfy.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
