Fit Review Friday! Athleta Seasoft Crewneck Sweatshirt, Seasoft Bubble Hem Hoodie, and Celestial High Rise Utility Pant

Happy Friday! I'm back with another Fit Review Friday. I actually miss doing these. It's been a little while since my last one. I placed this Athleta order during their last sale.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size Petite XS in Athleta. I also wear size 4/6 in Lululemon.

Smoky Rose and Heather look really pretty paired together. And that's all that I liked about this outfit. 😆 Since the Celestial High Rise Utility Pant is so baggy on me, the bubble hem top just did not work with it. A fitted top would have looked better with these pants.

The Seasoft fabric is one of my favorites. It's slightly thinner than Lululemon's Softstreme, but honestly Seasoft is more of an all year round weight. I find Softstreme to be too heavy for summer temperatures, but I can still wear my Seasoft pants in the summer. In fact I'm wearing a pair right now. I always get asked if I have experienced the water spots as other reviews mention. Honestly, I don't notice the water stains. The spots fade when it dries and you can rub them out with your hands if they remain. Not sure if it's the water type? Even if the spots did linger, the comfort of the fabric trumps any kind of water spot in my opinion.

I especially love the Smoky Rose color in Seasoft. It's just so beautiful and the fabric drapes nicely. I did not realize Athleta had changed the Seasoft Crewneck Sweatshirt until Andrea pointed it out to me a couple of months ago. She said the cut was now shorter in length and I have to agree, it's not as good as the original version.

(This is not the most flattering photo of me, but it shows the updated hemline. 😅)

The neckline is also much smaller and feels tighter. I'm not a fan of small necklines. The dropped shoulders have a weird cut. I'm wearing size XS which usually fits slightly large, but the seams along the shoulder line were pulling at the armpit area.

The back of the sweatshirt is basic and the length hits at the hip. Sleeve length is too long, as expected. You can see in the below picture the odd fit at the shoulders and upper arms. The arm holes were too small for the dropped shoulder seam. Overall, the updated design is a miss for me. Love the color though.

Last but not least we have the Celestial High Rise Utility Pant. I was super excited for these but turns out, they are way too baggy in the legs for petites. I'm wearing size Petite XS and these do come in Petite XXS. Even in the size down, I'm not convinced they would work. I still think the legs would be too wide. That said, the fabric is super soft and very comfortable but it does wrinkle easily. I used a steamer on these before the photo shoot, and you can still see areas where they're wrinkled.

Inseam measures 25.5 inches and the ties are fun to use. I'm not too crazy about the cargo pockets because of how low they are. If these were flattering, I would have kept them, wrinkles and all. I love the color Heather. I'll be keeping an eye out for other items in Heather. It's the perfect neutral.

All in all, this order was disappointing. I ended up sending everything back. I did like the Seasoft Bubble Hem Hoodie in Smoky Rose, but I already have two and decided a third color was overkill. That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. 😊

(That was fast!)

(My pick for the week, all three colors are on sale and I think I may need to try this! It is slightly sheer though.)

  1. Yes it felt like you were being swallowed up by so much fabric especially the pants. The cut of the crew neck sweater was really odd, the sleeves were way too long to be flattering.

    1. Hi AC! I had high hopes for the Cargo pants, but yeah way too much fabric.

  2. Thank you for that informative fit review! I've been pining for all three of those pieces, but I think I can probably scratch them off my list. As beautiful as the color of those pants are, the fact they are prone to wrinkles is a deal=breaker for me. I'm now eyeing the Rise Pant in Smoky Rose. The petite inseam is 28.5 inches, so I might be able to make them work with the cinch on the ankle. I suspect my size will sell out before I pull the trigger though. It's annoying how little petite stock Athleta seems to have these days.

I had a credit at Lulu, so I gave the Lightweight Adjustable Mid-Rise Cargo Pants a try. They were an instant return. Too long, waaay too big, and too wrinkly. I think if anyone is interested in them, you could probably size down 1-2 sizes. I tried xs (I'm a size 4) and I was swimming in them. My search for the perfect cargo pants continues....

    1. Hi Lola! I looked up the reviews so far on the Rise pants, people complain the fabric is really noisy - swishy pants. I think that may be a deal breaker for me, but the Smoky Rose is beautiful.

Lulu's Lightweight Adjustable Mid-Rise Cargo Pant def looks way too big and not very petite friendly. The most friendly Cargo jogger I have found are Vuori's Boyfriend Cargo Jogger. I love those and wear them all the time. I wish they would release more colors in them because I would def get another pair.

  3. Thanks for the fit review, Leslie! I did think of giving the Celestial High Rise Utility Pant a try but it’s way baggier than I expected. Heather is a pretty color though and I hope it comes in a nice jacket.

It’s a shame that Athleta changed the design of its Seasoft Crewneck Sweatshirt. The older version had a shorter front with curved hem and a longer back with straight hem. There was a pleat in the sleeve cuff and the design was more interesting.

Sadly Rise Pant in Smoky Rose is sold out in XXS Petite. I feel like I will have to check out the Athleta site everyday for new releases cos size XXS Petite sells out so fast!

    1. Hi Andrea! If you guys are that interested in the Rise Pant, I'll order it for a fit review. It will most likely be a return for me. They still have it in my size.

  4. Thanks for the fit review. I think the baggy parachute type pants are in style now but it’s hard for petites to pull off. It’s a cute look if it works. But a fitted top would definitely balance it out better. As for the Seasoft crew, I tried it on in the store and loved it because it reminds me of the vuori halo crew at a lower price point although the material is different . I had no idea there was an original design before. I believe there is one color on markdown in the original design the last time I looked online. I believe Quite a few reviewers prefer the original.

    1. Hi Cindy! Yeah I love the look of the pants on the models but it's still way too baggy on us. I'm not too upset, there will always be something else out there that I will eventually want! I love Vuori but they really need to come out with petite sizing.

    2. I totally agree about vuori. I was excited when it was rumoured they would carry petites but then only added xxs to some of their items. I noticed they also have “short” lengths for some of their pants. I find the halo essential hoodie is petite friendly. The halo crew is too long. I guess lululemon instead of offering petite sizing have varying lengths for some tops and bottoms. I noticed they have waist , hip and cropped lengths for their swiftly tops. Not sure if race length is discontinued

    3. I find Vuori short lengths are still not quite short enough. Lulu still offers the waist length, I tried one but ended up selling it. Still wasn't quite right.

  5. Glad you are back with your reviews...was wondering what sort of things your husband might start reviewing if you were gone too long!

Both these colors are so pretty but agree the fit isn't the greatest (except for the hoodie!). I think I'll be deleting the pants from my wishlist based on the wrinkling factor....A little too high maintenance for me right now...Thank you for letting us know about that.

    1. Hi Carr! Haha, yeah Jared really came through for me. Luckily he didn't have to bore you guys with headphones and what not. =D

I love Heather and Smoky Rose. They also look great together. Will keep an eye out for other items in those colors.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Review! Lululemon's Large Everywhere Belt Bag Size Comparison Plus Video!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost Halloween! I actually have a dentist appointment on Halloween. One of my molars chipped and needs to be filled in. It's a tiny chip that I didn't even notice until my dentist pointed it out to me during my last visit. I'm not looking forward to it at all since I will need local anesthesia. Anyway, today I have a belt bag size comparison review for you all! For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
