Hope you all had a nice weekend! Jared and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. We went to Omakase by Yun for our big dinner. I think that was the best Omakase we have had since living in Atlanta. It was an 18 course dinner that lasted just a little bit over 2 hours. Would definitely do it again. Jared hates taking photos but I take an anniversary selfie of us every year. This is mandatory! 😆
Let's get to today's review. We have the Lululemom Knit Nylon Mini Barrel Duffle Bag in 5L. It's a small to mid sized bag that's great for everyday use.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.
Naked Cashmere Wrap (old)
Athleta Essential Tank Size XS
Athleta Seasoft MR Straight Crop Size PXS
This bag can be carried three ways. By the handle, crossbody, and crook of the arm. I'm definitely a crossbody gal first and foremost but will also carry bags by the handle if it's not too heavy. For the record this bag is very lightweight. Crossbody strap is fully adjustable and detachable. The size looks good on my petite frame.
Please check out my short video to see what fits inside this bag. 🙏
Let's take a look at the details.
Bag dimensions:
(9.8" x 6.3" x 6.3")
Volume: 5L
The fabric is a soft nylon and feels very smooth to the touch. The inside has one large compartment with a zippered pocket on the inside. There's also a small pocket on the outside of the bag, but I found it hard to fit anything useful in it. (The video shows this in better detail.) Hardware is shiny silver.
My biggest complaint are the handles. They feel kind of rough and stiff. The rounded side feels okay, but the flat side feels a bit sharp in my hands. My hands are also on the small side so this might vary depending on how big your hands are.
I do think the handles curve in a very pretty way. Looks feminine and graceful. Price is $98 and it's not a bad price for a cute bag. I wish the handles felt better. The black fabric also catches a lot of lint. In the end I decided to return it.
That's it for me! I hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

Happy Anniversary, Leslie and Jared, and wishing you many more happy years to come! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great bag review! The duffle bag looks cute but I'm not sure about the material if it catches a lot of lint. Some even commented about pilling which is a deal breaker to me.
Andrea
Thank you Andrea! <3
DeleteYes, I can totally see the bag pilling with some use, which is sad because it is a very cute bag otherwise. Maybe it won't be as noticeable in other colors, but the black you can see all the lint and white dust it collected.
Happy anniversary! It sounds like you two had a fun night out!
ReplyDeleteThe bag is pretty cute - I like the mini gym-bag aesthetic. It's a shame that the fabric is a magnet for lint and doesn't seem durable.
Hi Lola! Thank you, we did! Will always go for Omakase.
DeleteAgree, if it was made of a different material, perhaps even belt bag material, might have been better.
Happy 9 years!! 🥳🥳
ReplyDeleteGreat review, after seeing all the comments on the lint and pilling, it sounded disappointing, tho the cylindrical form factor isn’t really my thing anyway.
Thank you AC! <3
DeleteI think the duffle bag look can be cute. Next time maybe they will improve the fabric.
Happy anniversary, Leslie! Thanks for the bag review! The handles look kinda cheap, but otherwise the barrel bag looks cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen!
DeleteYeah, I really wasn't a fan of the handles.
