Fit Review! Mother Petites The Lil Mid Rise Dazzler Ankle & Why I Returned Good American Jeans

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Before I get into my review on my new Mother jeans, I initially wanted to do a comparison review with Good American, but they arrived with a giant rip at the crotch all the way down to mid thigh. The tear was about the size of my hand, I kid you not. 😳 I did order two pairs and the second pair arrived intact, but they didn't fit and I ordered a size 4. I was able to get them on, but it was too tight in the waist and they were high rise on me, even though the description stated they were mid rise. I did not like them at all. Luckily Good American did not have an issue with me returning the damaged pair. They actually told me not to send them back. I am shipping them to my friend who is a seamstress and I told her she can try and patch it up or maybe she can use it as parts.

I could not believe it when I pulled them out of the bag. 😲
Mother denim it is.

Wash: Nothing Between Us Size 27

When I first put these on, my first thought was "hmmm, they feel just a little too tight." So I took them off pretty fast. I usually give myself a week to decide if I keep or return an item. A couple of days later I tried them on again, and they felt better, but still a little tight around the thigh, so I took them off. The third time I tried them on they fit like a glove. With this pair, I learned these jeans stretch quite a bit and mold to your body.

I've already worn these a couple of times and can say these do not overly stretch out or bag out. I don't think I've ever really enjoyed wearing jeans until Mother denim came along. The first pair I bought back in January have been in regular rotation when I go out on date night with my husband. He loves me in jeans, much to my dismay. But I will wear them as long as they're comfy and these really are comfortable! For the price, they better be! They are expensive $$$! They're made in California so I'm sure that's also another reason why the price is steep. Retail price is $258 for the pair I bought which makes these the most expensive jeans I've ever bought and kept. That said I'm really happy with them and they look fantastic.

Wash: Nothing Between Us Size 27

These jeans are soft but they still have structure to them. This pair is medium weight and the wash is a nicely distressed blue with some fading and whiskering. They really look and feel amazing on. I don't think I can stress that enough!

The length is perfect for petites measuring 25.5 inches. It's full length on me, not too long, not too short. These are mid rise and the waist hits right below my belly button.

Now that I've got a black pair and a blue pair I am hoping I won't need a third. Never say never though. 😅 I'm also wearing a linen tee from J.Crew if anyone was wondering. I'm obsessed with linen now that it is 100 degrees in Hotlanta. This week has been brutal with the heat. So far it's been dry heat, which is bearable. If it was 100 degrees and humid, I would never leave the house. I do like J.Crew's linen, but it isn't as soft as Athleta's but it'll do. I really like the color and it goes with almost anything. Fit is relaxed and I would recommend sizing down for a slimmer fit. It's currently on sale for half off!

(on sale $24.50)

That's it for me! Have a wonderful start to a brand new week!

  1. Wow, that must have been a surprise when you opened the package from Good American. Very questionable quality control there....

Those Mother jeans are super cute, and they look like they fit you well, but holy moly, are they expensive! I see they have a Canadian site, so I priced out a pair just for fun, and they were over $350 with tax! Shipping was free though, which is nice to see :)

    1. Hi Lola! Seriously. I was like, how do they even ship something like this out?!

Yikes! I feel like I have to apologize to my Canadian friends. Exchange rate is brutal. I'd say try a pair since it's free shipping! =D

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
