Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons Lululemon Softstreme Gather Tee, Dance Studio Mid Rise Cropped Pant, Softstreme Full Zip Hoodie

Happy Friday! I dropped by Lululemon last weekend to see what was new and grabbed a few items to try.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in tops and bottoms.

I kinda like this outfit I put together. I'm not sure if the double ruffled hems are a good look though. 😅 Lilac Ether is a really pretty pale lavender. I'm wearing size 6 for comfort and I still think it looks great. The cropped length measures 25 inches long. These are also double lined. I love the double lining because it makes the seams running down the pants less noticeable on the inside and more comfortable. For $88 I think these pants are worth the money. I'm actually surprised Lulu hasn't raised the price on these to $98.

This Softstreme Gather Tee is super soft. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and the fit is casual and it is slightly cropped. It hits right below my belly button. I wish the hem was a straight line instead of the ruching. Other than that, I really like it. It's a very comfortable top. I'm surprised this top costs as much as the Dance Studio Crop Pant. It's a little steep. I'm sure it'll hit WMTM in a few weeks though!

I decided to try the Softstreme Full Zip Hoodie one more time in my usual size 4. In my original review I tried on the size 2.

The front looks a little better, not as poofy. I'm still not a huge fan of how it looks though. I still didn't like the side profile. It makes me look like I have a beer belly. 😆 But if you're looking for maximum comfort, this hoodie wins.

That's it for today! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Don't sleep on Allbirds Memorial Day Sale. Athleta is also having an extra 20% off sale items with code MAY20

  1. Hi Leslie,
I love that you can wear the Dance Studio Mid Rise Cropped Pant as full length pant and it’s cute on you! Not sure about the color though.

Did you find the rise a tad short? I have the original Dance Studio Pant and find the latest version too tight around the crotch even after sizing up. I wonder if the crop has the same camel toe issue.

I got the LLL Multi-Pocket Crossbody Bag 2.5L in Vapor and am surprised how much I like it. It actually looks cool shortening the strap and wearing it as a shoulder bag. The size (2.5L) is pretty much the same as the Everywhere Belt Bag 2L and I love that the crossbody bag is more organized with three outside pockets. Wish it was an inch taller but then it might look too big and not as sleek.

Athleta Canada is having a warehouse sale and I ordered the Brooklyn Mid Rise Ankle Pant in size 00 and 00 Petite to try on. Sadly only Black and Navy are available in my size so I went for Black. Not sure if I like the ribbed panel down the side and I’ll let you know. :)

    1. Hi Andrea! I didn't find the rise to be too short in the size 6. It was generous enough that the waist was slightly loose. It was very comfy. Maybe the crops are cut a little different?

The Multi-Pocket Crossbody Bag 2.5L is cute! I might have to order that and see for myself. I love it in Vapor for summer.

Let me know how you like the Brooklen Ankle Pant! I have been liking more Athleta these days over Lulu. There's a few more things in my cart I am mulling over.

  2. As for Andreas comment about the crotch I found the same thing when I tried them on at the store but when I ordered them online (same size) they seem to fit better. Leslie those pants look good on you. But I tend to not be a fan of pants in the pink /red shades. Although it’s a pretty summer color. My most recent purchase was the true navy oversized funnel scuba with the gold zipper. I fell in love with the way the gold zip looked against the navy but when it arrived I thought the zipper was too bright and shiny and looked a bit tacky. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! Thanks, I agree the pale lilac isn't the best color a little too light, but I love the fit. Did you end up returning the Oversized Funnel Scuba?

  3. I still have it. But will probably return it. The glaze pink with gold zip went on wmtm yesterday so I’m wondering if the gold will look better with the pink. I’m loving the sculpt line of tops right now. Love the darts at the back. I wish they would bring back the essential tank and the pleated love tank. I’m also waiting for the irridescent hotty hot shorts to drop in price even more. I have so many things in my cart. None of which I need.

  4. I like the Softreme Gathered Tee - but wish it wasn't gathered at the bottom. I would prefer a tapered fit but might be okay with just a straight hem across if I crop it. I think the style is cute and unique, though!

Dance Studio Joggers/Beyond the Studio Joggers used to be some of my go-to's, but I now find the striped version of Swift to be too stiff and hot. I run hot all year, so there are just a handful of days I can wear them. I got rid of my linked DSJ super quickly - way too hot for me. I do prefer the rise and longer crotch length of the crop over the jogger/pant.

    1. Hi LZ! Really interesting about the short crotch length. Didn't realize it was different in the crop vs pant length. That seems to be a design error that needs to be fixed. No one likes having to pull the crotch down all day! SMH.

  5. The color of the Softstreme full zip in blue is so pretty! I don’t like the fit of LLL jackets lately but I do love seeing all your try on’s :D cause I don’t even bother to go in store to look. After seeing all your vuori pants I want to give them a try

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Please note, we have an updated review on our HelloFresh experience after more than 2 years of using the service. Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have fo
