Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons at Athleta and Lululemon! Breezy Muscle Tank, Retreat Linen Mid Rise Short, Stretch Woven Wide Leg Crop

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's going to be June tomorrow. This year is flying by. It's the start of summer season here in Hotlanta. I'm super grateful I have a few linen pieces to keep cool, but I wanted to pick up a few more.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4/6 in Lululemon bottoms and size Petite XS in Athleta.

Athleta's Breezy Muscle Tank feels like it's linen, but it's a mix of Tencel/Modal and Polyester. It's thin and lightweight and perfect for hotter days. It is a little bit on the sheer side. I'm wearing size XXS, but I found it a little too high in the armhole. You can see in the photo this tank has extra arm coverage, which is nice, but I would have preferred an XS because of it. The length hits at high hip, which I do like a lot. It's the perfect length where it's not too long or too short and still looks clean and put together. Price is $44 which I think is fair. The store didn't have XS in stock otherwise I would have walked out with it. I am going to wait for the next Athleta sale to place an order for this tank.

Next, we have the Retreat Linen Mid Rise Short in Storm Cloud. This is a pretty light blue with gray undertones. The linen is quite soft and not scratchy. I'm wearing size XS and they are super comfortable. I actually think the outfit looks cute for a casual weekend vibe. I just need to find better footwear to go with it. These shorts also have zippered side pockets!

Price is $59, which is a little high in my opinion. I bought these using some of my reward points to bring the price down. Oh, and this is my second pair of these shorts. 😊

I also stopped by a different Lululemon store to see if they had any Taupetastic items I'm looking for. They did have it in the Stretch Woven HR Wide Leg Cropped Pant. I'm wearing size small.

I remember trying these on last year and size XS was a little too tight in the waist, so I decided to try size small and it was a much better fit. The wide leg look is very on trend at the moment, and while these fit me like full length pants, they are very flattering with the side slit at the hem. I love the color so much, it's such a pretty neutral.

I love the woven fabric, it's super lightweight and airy. The only thing I didn't like is the price. These retail for $148. Ouch! I would have purchased these to wear to the office otherwise. I will wait until they're on WMTM.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and here's to an amazing June!

  1. Hi Leslie,
Thanks for the fit reviews! I tried on the Retreat LInen High Rise Ankle Pant in Storm Cloud size XXS and loved both the color and fabric. Sadly only Regular length was available and wearing them as full length pant, the hem was too tapered. :( Would've worked if the hem was straight.

LLL's Stretch Woven HR Wide Leg Cropped Pant looks cute on you! Taupetastic is such a beautiful neutral color and I would give Dance Studio Mid-Rise Pant Short another try if it comes out in Taupetastic. :)

Enjoy the nice weather and have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Hi Andrea! Ah too bad it wasn't straight leg for the Linen Pant. I love their Retreat Linen line.

Yes, Taupetastic is my new fave color. I have been eyeing it in the Dance Studio Crops myself!

  2. I've been watching those Taupetastic Stretch Woven Pants as well! I wish they would go on markdown.

I have the Breezy Muscle Tank in Orchid. I agree, it's a nice light top for summer. I liked the xs better than xxs as well.

I think the Abalone tank would look so cute with the Taupetastic pants! I want that outfit :)

  4. The LLL wide legged pants are cute on you. I was looking at Vuori and have a few fit review requests. The Isla baggie pant, falls jumpsuit and solar shorts. Thank you so much! No worries if you can't do them! Cindy

  5. I still can't decide if I like the Stretch Woven Wide Leg Crop or not. I like the style but feel like wide legs only make me look shorter. I guess I'm short, and that's all there is to it, though! $148 is pretty steep, so I would def wait for WMTM. Everything Taupetastic has to be headed there soon.

    1. Hi LZ! Yeah I like the look, I think it looks cute with the side slits at the hem. I grew up in the 90s, so I am nostalgic about the wide leg trend haha.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
