Fit Review Friday! Hold Tight Thin Strap Racerback Tank, Relaxed Fit Cotton Blend Poplin Button Down Shirt, Cinchable Waist HR Woven Short, Dance Studio HR Short

Happy Friday! I went to the store to make some returns and got to do some store try-ons. I had a lot of fun with this one.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

This tank is true to size. I'm wearing my usual size 4. The fabric is super soft and stretchy. The length hits at the waist and features two thin straps while offering a good amount of coverage. My only complaint is slightly high arm holes. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it was noticeable. For a more casual fit, I would suggest sizing up. For $48, still a little pricey in my opinion but I didn't feel like it was outrageous, although you can probably find a similar tank for half the price elsewhere.

(Runs large, size down!)

Okay, this button down shirt really made me happy. Even though it was too big (I'm wearing a size small) I still loved everything about it. The drape, the cut, the length, the color! Who knew I would love a silly color named Taupetastic?! I went home and placed an order for a size XS. I'll post another review when it arrives.

I am mostly going to wear this unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up. Yes, the sleeves are long, but I never wear button down shirts the normal way. I prefer a more casual, I'm-just-gonna-throw-this-over-my-tank-top kinda vibe. This will be a nice cover up piece for summer! I saw that a new color was released in Lilac Ether. Depending on how much I love the smaller size, I may pick up another one.

As we head into warmer weather, I am interested in picking up a couple more pairs of shorts. I am looking for slightly longer lengths, but not too long. I think 3.5" is almost the perfect length for a casual everyday short.

I'm wearing Size XS. I do think it's true to size, but if you're looking for a more casual fit, I would size up as the waistband is not very stretchy. Fabric is woven and it feels a little bit on the stiff side, and it's not very soft, it almost has like a papery feel.

There's a small side slit that offers more mobility. I love this in Twilight Rose, it's such a pretty neutral. There's a drawcord at the waist. Price is high at $88. If you asked me how much I thought these would cost, I would have said $68.

I've been really curious about the Dance Studio HR Short 3.5". I'm wearing size 4 and they are true to size, but again if you want a more casual fit, size up. I feel like Lululemon's waistbands are not very stretchy for the most part. I personally would be more comfortable in a size 6. Interestingly enough, even though these are the same length as the Cinchable Waist HR Woven Short, these look like they're slightly shorter. Made out of Swift fabric, it feels lightweight and thin. It will keep you cool for summer.

I ended up leaving empty handed but I did place another order this week, so hopefully something will work out for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  1. I really like the Cinchable-Waist shorts on you. You can never go wrong with Twilight Rose! I was interested in the Dance Studio Shorts and I'm glad to hear they run true to size.

I caved and ordered the Iridescent Hotty Hots, even though the price makes me cringe a bit. I want to see what the color looks like in person, and the reviews on that color seem very enthusiastic. I decided to size up, so hopefully I made the right choice :)

    1. Hi Lola! Ohh I ordered the Iridescent HHs too but went with my usual size. I hope they aren't too small. If they are I may try again in size 6.

    2. Lola why did you decide to size up on the H
      H shorts

  2. Happy Fri-yay, Leslie!

I like the way you styled the Poplin Shirt - very cute.

I want to like the Cinchable Short, but I don't think they are flattering on me. The waistband is tight, and the legs are loose, so I can't decide on the size that works best. The DS Short is one of my fav styles right now. I agree the waist band is tight. My size 4 feels closer to a size 2 in the waist.

    1. Hi LZ! Agree, I wish Lulu's waistbands had more stretch, like just enough room to eat a big meal, lol! I think if I am to buy their shorts I have to size up. But yes, then you run into the problem with a bigger thigh opening which might not be as flattering.

  3. I think the waistband on the twilight rose shorts look a bit bulky from the front. I love the dance studio shorts on you more.

  5. The button down looks so fantastic on you! Even before I read you liked it I was thinking wow it looks so versatile and the color and fit is great. Spiffy! I found the dance studio shorts to run too tight in the waist in my size 2 but the hips too big in the 4 for me -Janessa

    1. Hi Janessa! Thanks, I am still waiting to receive the XS for the button down. I can't wait to get it. It's starting to warm up in Atlanta and I could really use it as a thin layer.

It seems like all of us are unhappy with Lululemon sizing lately. =(

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
