Review! Louis Vuitton Millesime Speedy Bandouliere 25

I'm really excited to share this bag with you all. I've had it for a few months now and as a Speedy fan, I'm thrilled to add this Millesime version to my handbag collection. Millesime leather is made of calfskin and it is so buttery soft, it really reminds me of Lululemon's softstreme fabric. It has that peach fuzz feel, except the leather version. 😅 Louis Vuitton has a video up on their website with more information about their Millesime leather.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall.

I love how this bag doesn't have any logos on it, except for LV debossed in the lower corner of the bag. Other than that, the only way you can tell it's a Louis Vuitton bag is if you recognized it as a Speedy. I know almost everyone knows what a Speedy bag is, but most of the time it's the monogram canvas version. This is a little bit different and I love it. It's a really special bag and a bit hard to find. It's not currently available on the website, but I do think if you went to the store or called them directly, they may be able to locate one for you.

I got mine from Fashionphile which is where I get most of my designer bags these days. I also like to shop from TheRealReal and Ebay, but Fashionphile is my go-to.

I can't say enough how much I love this leather. It's soft and squishy. Some people confuse it with Nomade leather, but this is different. It's softer, and just buttery to the touch. It does scratch easily and I personally love seeing a bag patina. Personally I think scratches add character. That said, I do baby this bag and I'm very careful with it. I would prefer not to have deep scratches and this applies to all of my bags. I do take good care of them. If I get a nail scratch I'm not going to fret over it. If the leather darkens, I'm fine with that too. It's just going to happen over time with use. It's a journey and I am interested to see how this bag looks after two years, five years, and ten years. I've already decided this is a keeper, an heirloom bag. It's that special.

You can carry this bag a few ways. By top handle or using the crossbody strap. I prefer leaving the strap on just in case I need my hands free. Sometimes I will carry the bag by the crook of my arm, but it's not the most comfortable because the bag does stick out quite a bit from the body.

Please check out my video below. I demonstrate how the leather reacts to water and scratches. I also show what fits and of course lots of video of the beautiful leather.

I mean just how beautiful is this? 😍

Hardware is gold and very shiny. The inside is lined with suede and it's the suede is a separate piece from the leather which adds to the weight of this bag. This bag is heavy. The first time I wore this bag out, I was shocked by the weight with all my things in it. I'm pretty sure it was easily four pounds, maybe a bit more. It's a lot heavier than my denim Speedy and monogram canvas Speedy. If you're used to a light weight bag, be prepared for the weight. It's not as heavy the Chloe Paddington bags from 2005 but it's close.

There is a slip pocket and a zippered pocket on the inside.

Since I bought this pre-owned, it came with a set of scratches. They're superficial enough that they don't bother me, and I was able to buff some of them out. This is not my everyday bag, I only take it out for date night or shopping as long as I'm not walking around all day.

I love that the the zipper extends a third of the way down the side of the bag. This makes it a lot easier to get in and out of the bag. The zippers on my other Speedy bags only go across the top, which is fine for the most part.

This minimalist style reminds me of the vintage bags from the olden days. This is a bag that could easily look like it's from the 1930s. It has that kind of vibe.

The bottom of the bag has feet, which is great. The leather piece on the bottom is a little bit different from the rest of the bag. It's smoother, a bit stiffer and it doesn't have the buttery feel. Overall, I highly recommend the Millesime leather. It's probably as close as I'll get to Hermes Barenia leather. But until I hit the lotto, that won't be happening. 😆

I'm so happy to add this bag to my Speedy family! That's it for me, hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

  3. Another good find, so minimalistic but unique. I didn’t even know the speedy came in a leather and color like this. My favourite was the family of speedies at the end 😆 where’s the inhaler?! And lastly, just out of curiosity, why do you want to remove the lock so bad? It actually acts as a pretty good zipper pull 🤔

    2. Hi AC! I forgot my inhaler! It was in another bag. 😅 Yeah it does make a good zipper pull but the lock is so heavy that I feel like it isn't quite balanced attached at the end like that. It's heavier than the actual zipper pull and it does feel a bit awkward at times. Like a heavy weight at the end of a string. It is very pretty though. I'd rather have it attached to the side where the strap clips on. And thanks so much for watching! 😊 I hope you liked the water test.

    3. Oh the sweater is from Naked Cashmere.

    4. Yes, I had to hold my breath for the water test and hoped it went back to the way it was 🫢

    5. Haha, it was a little more water than I intended, but it worked out! All is good.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
