Fit Review Friday! Athleta Forever Fleece Full Zip Sweatshirt & Aviator Nation 5 Stripe Relaxed Zip Hoodie

Happy Friday! Spring is on the way and I wanted to refresh my hoodies. Aviator Nation's 5 Stripe hoodies are still my favorite after three years. They are insanely soft and comfortable. I wanted to see how Athleta's Forever Fleece Full Zip stacked up in comparison.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size PXS in Athleta, XS in Aviator Nation, and Size 4 in Lululemon tops.

Athleta released a limited edition Forever Fleece collection in Bone. The cut of this hoodie is similar to Lululemon's Scuba Oversized Full Zip Hoodie, but petite friendly. I'm wearing size XS in Bone and it's actually a really nice fit. It's slightly relaxed, and the sleeves aren't humongous or too long.

The length is slightly cropped but still hits at the hip.

It's not as thick as the Scuba Hoodies, and it doesn't feel as substantial either. The price point is $99 retail and if you're able to use points or stack a coupon, I think it's worth it on sale. The hood is a great size and not heavy.

The inside is lined with fleece and light to medium weight. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the plastic zipper. Don't get me wrong, the zipper was smooth and perfectly functional, but the large plastic teeth made it feel just a bit on the cheaper side. Otherwise, I am very happy with this hoodie. The color bone is a great neutral and not too light in my opinion. It will be a nice hoodie to wear in the spring weather.

PSA! Athleta is having a Members Event this weekend. Early Access starts 3/9 - 25% off your purchase with code SHOPFIRST. Main event starts 3/14 with code MEMBERS. Get your carts ready!

Next up, we have one of my favorites, Aviator Nation's 5 Stripe Relaxed Zip Hoodie in Vintage White. I'm wearing my usual size XS.

Size XS

This is my second hoodie in this style. It's slightly oversized but doesn't overwhelm my petite frame. I absolutely love how soft it feels. The only downside is the fabric will pill after a while. I still love them though!

I wear an Aviator Nation hoodie almost everyday. I will pretty much wear them anywhere except at my office. I'll wear them at home, and when I go out on the weekends. While I really like Athleta's Forever Fleece Full Zip, Aviator Nation still wins easily in my book.

That's it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! For Monday's review I have either Vuori or Lululemon. Which do you want to see first?

  1. Hi Leslie, I love both hoodies on you ! As an avid Aviator Nation fan I have to say I’m partial to the vintage white 5 stripe ! I saw that they are having a 30% off outerwear sale and I’m interested in the 5 stripe jacket . How has yours held up over the years ? Does it fit slim in the waist like the vest ?

    1. Hi there! Yes, the 5 Stripe jacket fits similar to the vest in the body. Same cut with a little room. I still have the jacket and wear it a few times each year. It's not my everyday jacket. It's still in excellent shape.

  2. Hi Leslie! The Athleta hoodie is petite friendly and both hoodies look great on you! I was checking out the Endless pant, and found that you've already done a review on them. Your fit review and pics are very helpful! Thank you so much! Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Glad they helped you out! The Endless Pant are really nice, they were just too big on me.

  3. The hoodie fits great on you! It reminds me of the Aritzia Boyfriend Boxy. I think the LNY scuba is just the gold zipper? I want to get the dance studio pants in short but I'm still deciding.

    1. Hi Janessa! Ahhh if it's just the gold zipper that makes it LNY that is pretty lame!

  4. I am definitely team Aviator Nation on this one, it has a drop shoulder and slight balloon sleeve, while the cut and profile of the Athleta one is just not as flattering or well designed. The stripes also adds huge points!

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
