Fit Review! Frank & Eileen Barry Tailored Button Up Shirt

Hello from New York! Did you all watch the Super Bowl? If you didn't, all I'm gonna say is the Swifties won in the last three seconds of overtime. 😂 Oh and the best part of the Usher concert was when he came out on roller skates. That was pretty cool. Now that we have that out of the way, I do have a review for you guys. I've been curious about Frank & Eileen for a long time but never wanted to pay full price. Their sale items are final sale which can be a little scary which is why I read all the reviews for the Barry button up shirt and every single one said to size up. Normally I would purchase size XS but for this top, I went with the size small and I'm really glad I did.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops. For this review I am wearing size small. This button up shirt runs small.

I went with the Barry Tailored Button-Up Shirt because many of the reviews said it was petite friendly, but it also ran small. I decided on the denim distressed vintage wash because it's on sale. The denim feels really soft right out of the box. It's also super comfortable. It's lightweight and perfect to wear on a spring/summer day. It also works well as a layering piece over a top.

The Barry is a fitted button up with a curved front hem. The length is long enough in the back that it covers the bum. The sleeves are a little bit long, but I also like to push them up to my elbows. I'm wearing size small, and I'm so glad I sized up.

I'm really liking the worn in/distressed look these days. I know it's not for everyone, and there are a lot of other colors and fabrics to choose from this style. I'm actually considering the Barry in the Featherweight navy

The first button is a little bit on the low side, but that's my only complaint for this top. You could add another button a little bit higher or just wear a tank underneath to solve the issue. It isn't a deal breaker for me. This is pricey for a button-up even on sale. The fabric seems high quality. I'm not sure how it'll hold up, but time will tell. That said, I am curious about other pieces.

I'm looking forward to wearing this top out when it gets a little warmer! What do you think of this button up? Do you have any Frank & Eileen pieces? Let me know in the comments below.

That's it for me! I hope you all have a wonderful start to a brand new week!

  1. Its very cute on you and I like knowing the material is lightweight - I like to use denim shirts as an extra layer between me and the sun in sunny CA, but they are often too hot for summer.

    1. Thanks! I do the same in Atlanta. I think this one is thin enough that it should be okay for summer.

  2. Thanks for this review. I suppose you’ve never tried other styles of F And E button ups? It looks very cute on you. I usually take one size smaller than you and this shirt is on sale now. I wonder if I would need an xxs in the relaxed fit version. Im sad about the election results in the US. Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy, I have not tried any other style button ups since they're so pricey. I did try on two jackets which I absolutely love. I took XS in both, they're relaxed fit but still look great. I do want to try more styles though.

It is a sad day. =(

    2. Thanks for the F&E reviews. I’m excited for our country 🇺🇸

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
