Finally, Lunar New Year drop! However, I'm disappointed there wasn't any dragons anywhere. Just red and gold or with something that looks like scales or maybe feathers, it's really hard to tell. I'm sorry but this is a little lazy, Lulu! Last year at least there was a bunny belt bag! My wallet is very happy.
In other news, I'm a little surprised there hasn't been a LNY drop from Athleta. Although to be fair, they haven't done it in the past, but I was hoping they might do it this year. Allbirds dropped a LNY shoe! I am quite tempted, it looks nice even though there's no dragons, but at least they tried with the colors and it's not your typical red, they went with the opposite pairing which I like. Did you buy any LNY items? Would love to know if found other brands that did a better job than Lulu. 😆
I agree - lazy. So many people are excited for this capsule each year, and they boofed. I do feel like there is a fine line between tacky and cool dragon stuff, though. I guess they swung too far to the safe side. The Aligns were the only potential buy for me, but I passed. They would show too much sweat, and since I want all of my Aligns to work for both pilates (where I sweat like a pig) and casual wear, they don't make the cut.
ReplyDeleteHi LZ! I didn't even notice the Aligns! I guess the red color is very nice, but not much else that screams LNY special. Agreed, they really played it safe this year, so much so, that it is boring.
DeleteAgree- the lunar capsule didn’t have many unique designs. Wish they made a ls red swiftly with that ‘dragon or fire’ on the sleeve. Why only for the men? Did I miss the lunar print on leggings? I see it in the pic with the align sports bra. Also, curious about the dance studio cargos. Do you think you can do a review later? Wondering if the pockets are too low on a petite person.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I didn't see the leggings with the Lunar print. US didn't get those. Maybe they haven't been released yet? I looked at the Dance Studio Cargos. The Pant and Jogger are both full length which aren't petite friendly. The pockets will be below the knee for sure. If they release it in 7/8 or Crop length I would be willing to try them. If I see them at the store I'lll try them on for a review.
DeleteThey had the dark red scuba last year right? Because I bought it! lol! At least they released the dark red belt bag, no more coveting it from resellers! I did noticed the only thing that sold out was the red socks…lol! I should have bought those!
ReplyDeleteLast year they had the Dark Red Scuba Oversized 1/2 Zip. They released it two years in a row. LOL I can't believe of all things the socks sold out!
DeleteI took a hard look at the scuba in store last week. The zipper pull is a shiny gold - and looks to be nice quality. The zipper teeth (?), on the other hand, look so cheap. It's a dull, plastic-y looking gold that doesn't match the nice zipper pull at all. I'm curious if the prior version had the same short cut.

Deleteoh wow, good to know those details. That's too bad they went with a cheap zipper on the Scuba, considering how much it is. I love the EBB, but didn't buy it since I have the rabbit EBB. I don't think I need another red one. Plus, I am starting to carry my other bags more and more.

I am tired of seeing pretty much the same styles with new colors released, and am no longer excited about the LLL weekly uploads.

Hi Andrea! Yes totally agree. I haven't been crazy about any of Lulu's recent drops. I still keep hoping, but expecting the same every week. Oh well, my wallet is happy even if I'm not!
