Fit Review! Store Try On Scuba Oversized Hoodie Velvet Cord and Scuba Mid Rise Wide Leg Crop Velvet Cord

Hope you all had a great weekend! I went to Lululemon to see if they had the Velvet Cord items since my order was lost. They did have the Velvet Cord crop and matching hoodie in stock, so I did a quick try-on.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

Let me just preface this review by saying the matching set really does not look good together. I felt like I was wearing a Halloween costume, it was just too much corduroy. 😆 I think you're better off wearing the pieces separately. Now that we have that out of the way, the Velvet Cord is thick and heavy weight. It's also very soft and comfortable.

I'm wearing size XS/S in the hoodie and it fits oversized as expected. The sleeves are very wrinkly and too long but the body length actually works and hits at my hip. Riverstone is a pretty neutral that didn't wash me out.

The store didn't have a size 4 but they did have a size 6. The size 6 is a little bit loose in the waist for me but I did like that it's mid-rise. The length is 26 inches according to the website and I am loving the wide leg. It reminds me of the JNCO's I used to have back in the 90s! 😂

Did you have JNCO's that covered your entire foot like this?! I thought it looked so cute back in the day. Good times. I did end up ordering these last week, let's see if it makes it to my house the second time around. I also ordered the Espresso color since I wasn't sure if I would prefer the velvet corduroy in a darker color. As of right now, I'm still undecided on how I feel about the look. What do you all think of velvet corduroy look? I am hoping I can wear these to the office since they're so comfortable.

I also saw these two new belt bags at the store. I actually really like the Everywhere Belt Bag 2L in Wunder Puff. The size was great and didn't look huge for some reason. Maybe because it's puffy. 😅 The Everywhere Belt Bag Quilted Velour felt SO soft! The store only had black in stock. I might have caved if they had it in Wine Berry. Both of these belt bags cost $68, which is a little pricey, but they are seasonal and limited edition pieces. I might consider if they end up hitting WMTM.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

  1. Hi Leslie,
The Scuba Mid Rise Wide Leg Crop Velvet Cord looks cute on you and I believe it will fit much better in size 4. Wish the length worked for me. Sigh.

I'm not a corduroy person but kind of like the Velvet Cord which is substantial and soft. Too bad the Scuba Mid-Rise Straight-Leg Pant 7/8 Length Velvet Cord is an inch too short for me. :( No luck with Velvet Cord bottoms so far!

The Scuba Oversized Hoodie Velvet Cord is cute on you but the sleeves are way too long. Body length is perfect though. My friend got the Scuba Track Jacket Velvet Cord in Expresso and loves it.

I'm so disappointed with this year's LLL holiday uploads and miss the days when we had lots of luxurious and sparkly items. My wallet is safe though LOL.

    1. Hi Andrea! I was surprised at how soft it felt. I'm hoping I like it better in the Espresso. I think Riverstone might be too light for me to wear to the office.

Agree, where are the sparkly items? There's only a week left before Christmas so I don't think there will be anymore, but maybe? It's been an underwhelming shopping season for me so far! But yes my wallet isn't complaining.. nope, just us!

    2. Andrea, when you say the crops are too short for you, do you mean they’re not full length on you? Do they fit you like crops?

    3. Hi Cindy,
I haven’t tried on the crops but if size 6 is full length on Leslie, size 2 will definitely be too short on my 5’3” frame. :(

I did try on the Scuba Mid-Rise Straight Leg Pant 7/8 Velvet Cord in size 2 and the length hit above my ankle. If the leg is tapered like OTF, the length might work. With a straight leg, however, I would prefer it to hit below my ankle. Just my personal preference though.

      Hope it helps!

    4. Hi Cindy,
To clarify, I was hoping that the crops can be worn as pants (like Leslie did) so I commented that it would be too short on me. I believe size 2 would be ankle length for me.

    5. Oh I see. So they would fit you the way they are meant to fit. ie. not full length but you would prefer them to fit full length. So what about trying full length pants. Like if they had these crops in full length you would probably be able to wear them full length. Thanks for replying. I'm just curious.

    6. Hi Cindy,
The crops look like crops on the models but I will take to take at least a couple inches off to make them look like crops on me lol.

Not much luck with full length LLL pants but the Adapted State High-Rise Fleece Jogger Full Length actually works after I’ve sized down to 0.

  2. I was wondering about that Scuba Hoodie in the velvet cord. I think I like that fabric better as a top than pants. Too bad the sleeves are crazy long, though.

I ended up returning my crops. I did love the comfort of the fabric, but I couldn't justify the price for how much I was going to wear them. Alas, my hunt for something in Riverstone continues, lol!

And I agree with you and Andrea: the holiday uploads this year have been pretty disappointing. On a brighter note, I haven't spent very much money on Lulu over the last few months, so I have no buyer's guilt!

    1. Hi Lola! I am also in the same boat. I want something in Riverstone! I was considering the Loungeful hoodie but it sold out. I'm hoping to catch a restock.

I think I spent less this year on Lulu and Athleta. I'll run the numbers and will post a report in January. I'm also going to post my best of purchases from 2023 soon! I already have a list drawn up.

    1. Hi Jean L! The black is on sale online, but the wine is not. If the wine does hit WMTM I will probably get it.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
