Fit Review Friday! Store Try Ons Always Effortless Jacket & Align Classic-Fit High Rise Short 3 inch

Happy Friday! Last weekend I went to Lululemon to make a return and got to try on a couple of items I've been wondering about. I stuck to my no-buy and didn't walk out with anything new!

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

(I think I need to start carrying Windex with me!)

This is the updated Always Effortless Jacket in Dusty Rose. I'm wearing my usual size 4, but for this particular jacket I actually would size down. The store did not have a size 2 for me to try on. The size 4 is too big overall. The sleeves are long and baggy, the body is too wide. The length is okay, but I would have preferred it to be a little shorter.

The color Dusty Rose is a very pretty rose/lilac/pink and perfect for spring. Between the original design and the updated design, I have to say I prefer the original version. If you'd like to see my fit review of the original version, here's my review. I'm not a fan of the giant pocket flaps. I just think it looks odd. The original version was cuter and more streamlined.

Next up we have the Align Classic-Fit High-Rise Short and I'll be honest, I knew I would still fit into a size 4, but my confidence has gone way down because of my shoulder injury. I just haven't been able to workout hard in nearly a year. I also grabbed a size 6, "just in case" I didn't fit into the size 4. I breathed a sigh of relief when the size 4 still fit. 😅

Even though the size 4 fit perfectly fine (true to size), they just weren't flattering. It did absolutely nothing for my rear end. 😂 Which is mind boggling because the regular Align leggings look so good on me! The inseam is 3 inches and I did not feel they were too short on my petite frame. I think they are a good length.

(Just so flat... I think it's because the shorts just go straight down without any booty hugging.)

(That's the best I could look in these! 😆)

I'm glad I tried them on and now I know. Plus they're $74! My wallet thanks me! I will say the shorts get 5 stars for comfort, but two stars for looks. That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  1. We are in agreement about the shorts! I had high hopes for the style (not the price!) since I don't like biker shorts - but found them to be pretty unflattering on the bum.

  2. Hi Leslie,
I also tried on the Always Effortless Jacket Dusty Rose in the store a few days ago. They didn't have it in size 2 so I tried on a size 4 and liked the oversized fit especially the length (not a big fan of cropped jackets). Dusty Rose is very pretty but agreed that the original version of the AEJ was much nicer.

    1. Hi Andrea! I don't know why they changed it. I feel like the updated version isn't as popular. Seems like everyone agrees the original one was better.

  3. I was so curious about those Align Classic Fit shorts! For the price I'm definitely not running out to buy them and I appreciate your review. They seem comfortable and I like that there's pockets, that's about it. I prefer the old AE jacket too even though this color is very pretty.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
