Review! Coach Revel Bag & WMTM Update!

Happy Friday! This has been such a crazy week for me that I'm so glad it's Friday. In case you missed it, Lululemon released the Tapered-Leg Mid-Rise Crop 25" in five colors! I placed an order for Graphite Gray to try. I'll have a fit review coming shortly. I am hoping it will be a nice On The Fly replacement.

Today's review we have a Coach bag that is very similar to Louis Vuitton's Alma BB. I've always admired the Alma BB but never pulled the trigger. When Coach released their version for a fraction of the price, I thought, why not?

Sizing
10.25"L x 7.75"H x 4.75"W

The size of the Revel is nearly identical to the Alma BB. Alma BB is 9" wide, 7.5" in height and 4.3 inches deep. I would consider the Revel to be small to medium sized bag. Later in the post, I will show what fits inside.

Accessories

The Revel comes with a detachable strap, hangtag, lock, and key. The bottom of the bag has feet. The handles are very comfortable to hold and they fold down when worn as a crossbody. The hardware is brass.

Leather

This bag is made of smooth glovetanned leather. It does feel very sturdy and stiff and will keep the shape of the bag. I personally prefer softer leather that will look worn in with wear. I find softer leather gives the bag more character. If you prefer sturdier leather, this bag is a great choice.

Coach really has stepped up their game with the details of this bag. I love the contrast stitching and the 1941 hangtag. The lock actually does serve a purpose. It keeps pickpockets from getting into your bag by securing both pull tabs to a loop at the bottom of the bag and the lock keeps anyone from opening it without the key. Pretty neat, but not super practical!

The Inside has a very spacious interior with a side pocket. The micro fiber lining feels like suede. Very soft and fuzzy.

It fits everything I would want to carry with my on a daily basis and has room to spare. I would advise not to fill the bag up because it can get quite heavy.

The detachable shoulder strap has dog leash clip closure which I love. Makes it really easy to attach and detach in a hurry.

Verdict?

This was a tough call. I loved the size and the color of the bag. I did not love the leather on this one, which is surprising. I have other bags from Coach made of smooth glovetanned leather that I love, but this one was just too stiff for me. The retail price is amazing, only $495 and I am not surprised that this bag is so popular it's sold out right now. Coach currently has it available in their signature monogram fabric. That's it for me! I hope you all have a great weekend. I plan on some R&R.

  1. hi Leslie! I like this bag a lot! The structured leather looks great and is suitable for this style of bag. The even stitching and little details shows the high level of craftmanship. That said, I know you have many bags already, so it makes sense to send it back if you don't like the stiff leather. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Bags are my biggest weakness, if I see something I like visually, I have to see it in person, otherwise I can't get it out of my mind. I kind of was relieved when I realized the leather wasn't my taste! =D

    2. Hello! This model is not the Revel 24…it’s just the regular Revel which is larger than the 24. Just an fyi-

  2. Hey, thanks for the review. I wonder how many grams does it weight? Is it heavy? I plan to buy the smaller one!

    1. Hi there, I ended up returning it but it didn't feel extra heavy compared to my other Coach bags.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
