Fit Review! Aviator Nation Hand Dyed Pullover Relaxed Hoodie & Crew Sweatshirt Relaxed and Personal Musings About My Blog

Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm going to be traveling to Raleigh, NC for another business trip. My new role at my job doesn't normally have me going on business trips this often and I'm really not looking forward to this one because I have to wake up at 5am to go to the airport. 😩 After my business trip is over, I'm heading straight to New York to visit my family. I'm not used to doing this much traveling. Just FYI- I will be around for Tuesday's upload, but it will likely be posted later that night.

In other news, am I the only one starting to get bored of Lululemon? I'm definitely buying a lot less from them this year. There's always maybe one or two items that pique my interest, but I'm also not feeling the FOMO hit if I don't place an order. (I will always take fit requests though!) I'm looking for inspiration. I recently tried Alo Yoga but I still don't think it's going to be a place where I will shop at often. Athleta's spring and summer pieces aren't really calling my name. My usual Vuori visits has me closing the tab without completing a checkout. I still love Naked Cashmere, but it's a little too warm for cashmere right now. Let me know in the comments if there's a new place you've started to shop at that's also petite friendly. Another thought, would you be interested in seeing lifestyle reviews?

Back to the fit review! I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size XS in Aviator Nation. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

I still love my Aviator Nation hoodies. They're my most worn pieces. I cannot get over how soft and comfortable they feel. The tie dye pieces really add some color to my wardrobe. Plus the blue/purple combo is my favorite! I could not resist adding the Pullover Relaxed Hoodie to my collection.  Each piece is unique and the one I received has a nice blend of the two colors. I couldn't be happier! Size XS is slightly oversized on my petite frame and it's a relaxed fit for sure. It's a little warm right now to be wearing this in Atlanta, but I'm looking forward to fall!

Aviator Nation's Crew Sweatshirt is so petite friendly I wanted another. The length hits right at the hip and while it is relaxed, I love the fit. It's super casual and effortless to wear. This is pretty much my standard lounge outfit. I am a homebody and love just hanging out in my casual sweats! I throw on my favorite pair of joggers and I'm all set.

Do you have any Aviator Nation pieces? If so what's your favorite piece? Have a great start to a new week!

  1. Leslie, you posts have helped me a lot in navigating the athleisure space. I appreciate your consistent postings! While I am still into Lululemon, I also don't buy as much. My closet is full with LLL and I want to branch out. I have bought quite a bit from Aritzia starting last fall. I buy work and everyday clothes, which compliment what LLL has to offer. I like their style and petite friendly sizing. I will be interested in Lifestyle posts too!

    Safe travels!

    1. Hi Wei! Thanks for your input! I have browsed Aritzia on and off but nothing really calls to me. I've tried a few items and liked them but wasn't 100% in love. I guess I can try again!

  2. I'm with you - and I even work there! I would love to see different styles - not just new (but are they actually that different??) colors in the same styles. LLL needs petite sizing and to cut out the XS/S/M, etc. sizing. They are cutting corners to reduce the # of SKUs, but I much prefer numerical sizing that is more accurate. I would also like to see more OTM options!

    1. Hi LZ! Yessss, if Lulu released petite sizing, that would up their game. I agree the letter sizing isn't great. It's hard to know which size to order this way. I end up having to order multiple sizes. I would love to see more work friendly pieces too!

  3. hi Leslie, I'm with you. At this point, my closet is probably half Lululemon and I've reached a point where I just don't need more. The weekly uploads have been boring and lack new designs. I'd love to see more lifestyle, home decor, cooking, fitness and travel blogs etc. Have a great week!

  4. I'm in agreement with everyone; I'm not as enchanted with Lulu as I once was. I used to look forward to the uploads, but they have become so repetitive that they're kind of disappointing. And I know everything is becoming more expensive these days, but I find their pricing has become obnoxious. And I agree, if they offered petite sizing, that might pique my interest again. Your fit reviews have helped very much in that regard. It has made it easier to navigate the styles and take some of the gambling of "will that fit?" out of my orders.

As far as your blog goes, I think you should write about whatever interests you. I hope I can speak for your loyal readers to say we'll check out whatever you post :)

I hope you have a good trip!

    1. Hi Lola! You're too kind, I do hope you all stick around even if I ever decide to write about interior decorating. LOL. I love that Athleta offers petite, but I will admit sometimes their style is not my cup of tea. It can be a hit or miss. They have a lot of potential though. I'm just not enamored with their summer clothes. I think they have a really strong fall/winter collection.

I am ready for this conference to be over! Onwards to NY!

  5. I’m not petite but follow this blog for a general fit idea of everything reviewed. Lululemon was amazing 20 years ago, quite good since but certainly lately the materials have declined. If the Scuba doesn’t look good on you (it’s a no for me and I have a 20 year old one I outgrew and keep just in case) you’re pretty much out of luck with any new releases.
I keep coming back to check the comments for other suggestions.
I’d like to see Alo but from other reviews it doesn’t seem too promising. I have a few things, leggings I love but roll down, and the others have all pilled.

    1. Hi there! I wish I was into Lululemon 20 years ago, but I did not really get into the brand until 2015. The last couple of years have really been lackluster. I have tried Alo Yoga but they're not very petite friendly. Sadly a lot of their items would just not work for me. I do hope to get some more suggestions. BTW, thank you for reading my blog even though you're not petite! I'm glad you still find it helpful. =)

  6. Yup, I'm pretty much over with LLL. I'll still check it out once in awhile for something new and different, but I don't usually find it. I've also fallen in love with Athleta and their sales! I'm Canadian, so Athleta is a whole new world for me! Blog on whatever you'd like. I'll still read. :)

    1. Hi there, Yes, I do love Athleta but so far their spring/summer collection isn't calling my name. But they do have awesome sales. I will give them that! Thank you so much for your support. Appreciate you!

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
