Fit Review Friday! Mixed Fabric Full-Zip Hoodie & Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5" Bone

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's almost the end of March. This fit review was supposed to go up on Monday, but the stomach bug bit me pretty hard. When I saw the Mixed Fabric Full-Zip Hoodie it immediately piqued my interest and I had to see it in person for myself.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon's tops and bottoms.

also wearing Hotty Hot HR Short 2.5" Bone Size 4

This hoodie feels more like a jacket. The mixed fabric feels part spacer and softstreme, the other half feels like a waffle texture but slightly stiff. The jacket itself is weighted and feels heavy, but breathable. It's definitely not a summer hoodie. It's more of a transitional spring/fall type of jacket. The length hits at the hip and slightly longer length in the back.

I'm wearing size XS and it's slightly oversized, especially in the sleeves. The sleeves are wide and hit below my elbow. It's a weird length for sure. I think the style is very interesting and different for Lulu. I like the look, but the sleeves are too impractical. It would work with a long sleeve top underneath, but I was hoping this would be a fun layer over a tee shirt or tank for the summer. It's much too heavy for that though. The price is steep, $178 for this hoodie and while it is stylish and unique, I can't see myself reaching for it enough to justify the cost. I would say, if the price was $128, I might have considered it.

I do like how it looks from the side and two pockets in the front.

Too much of a bat-wing from the back and the two drawstrings are a tad long.

I love the color Bone but it is similar to White Opal. If you're wondering there is no need to buy both colors in a similar item. I did however want to see how the Mixed Fabric Full-Zip Hoodie looked paired with Hotty Hot HR Short in Bone.

Recently, a lot of reviews for the Hotty Hot HR Short are saying they run small, I have noticed this myself in the last three pairs I bought but it's not enough for me to size up. They fit a tad more snug in the waist but they still fit fine in the liner. I have never bought a pair of white-ish colored short before, so I'm happy to add this to my Hotty Hot collection! These are my favorite shorts, ever.

That's it for me! What do you think of the Mixed Fabric Full-Zip Hoodie? Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

  1. Those high rise don’t look that high. But I guess they must be relative to the low rise. Cute hoodie on you but it does look like a jacket and looks like good quality

    1. Hi there, yes the Hotty Hot HR isn't really HR, they sit underneath my belly button but compared to the LR Hotty Hots, I guess they are much higher.

The hoodie/jacket is high quality. It's very well made. I just didn't love it for the price.

  2. I like how that hoodie looks on you better than it looked on me :) I agree with you about the price. It's about $50 too expensive.

The Bone shorts are super cute. Good to know they're running a tad smaller now.

    1. Hi Lola! Do you think the hoodie will end up in WMTM? I see some of the sizes have sold out in Bone.

    2. I was thinking it would, since it's kind of a "different" style, but the brown color has completely sold out on the Canadian site, and there is only xs left in bone! That surprises me at that price point.

    3. By the way, the Ribbed Softstreme T-Shirt arrived. In my opinion, it's a size-down item. It's cut pretty wide in the torso - it fits bigger than the Softstreme Relaxed -Fit T-Shirt. I'm going to reorder in a size 2.

    4. Wow, that is surprising it's selling out. Good to know to size down with the Ribbed Softstreme T-Shirt. Thanks for the tip! I'll add it to my next order. =)

  3. The jacket is not for me. It's giving me karate vibes. Maybe it's just the sleeve length that's throwing me off. But, I agree that it is a very unique piece. The different fabrics are interesting. I'm sure I'll see someone rocking it around town and think that looks so cute on her. I just know it's something I would put on and feel weird in. I do like the color Bone. I'm interested to get a pair of shorts in that color.

    1. It's a really interesting jacket. But I agree, the sleeves are the most off putting about it.

  4. The bone color looks so good on you! I missed this review! I might get the bone in a 4 to replace my white 2 which is tight... (I read the white runs smaller than other colors which I found true)

    1. Hi Janessa! Thanks, I do love Bone and White Opal, those are some of my favorite white-ish shades. Yes, these are probably one of my smaller Hotty Hots. Any smaller and I don't think they would fit me. I think you should give these a try!

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
