New Releases Week of February 14th 2023

Happy Valentine's Day! We're officially halfway into Frugal February. How is everyone doing so far? I'm doing well. There hasn't been too much that's tempting me to pull the trigger. I feel like I can hold off for another two weeks. It also helps that if I do want something I just add it to my wish list. I'll revisit the wish list in March to see if there's anything there that I REALLY want to purchase and then I'll allow myself to do so. I'm looking forward to that. At least I'll know it won't be an impulse purchase. I'm trying to practice mindfulness and not let FOMO get to me. That said, Athleta's new arrivals has really piqued my interest, way more so than Lulu's recent drops, although today's drop was actually pretty interesting. Lots of new styles! Let's take a look.

(I am digging this streetwear vibe.)

(Ohhh I like this too!)

(I kinda like this? It's very different, but the price is a bit high IMO.)

(I am very interested in this, also available in Nomad and Bone)

(Tons of colors available!)

New arrivals from Athleta

I am very excited about Athleta's new arrivals. All the pretty colors are perfect for spring!

(I love the color combination to this tank.)

(Looks very comfy.)

(Love this color combo.)

(This reminds me of the Lulu X Roksanda collab, but more wearable.)

(I added this to my wishlist!)

(Added this to my wishlist too.)

(I love the design of this sweater! Adds to cart.)

(Sad that the petite length is still too long for me, but these might be worth getting hemmed.)

That's it for today, let me know how you're doing!

  1. Ohhhhh the Scuba Hoodie in Chambray is sooooo pretty! However, the color looks a bit different from the Chambray in other items and I’m wondering if the pictures reflect the true color.

    1. Hi Andrea, I know that different fabrics take dyes differently and which causes some variations to take into account. But photography plays a lot into it too, lighting, etc. Overall, it's still a lovely color!

  2. Nothing for me today! The Smooth Fit Pull-On HR Pants look interesting but too long. I haven't had good hemming experiences and don't want the hassle anyway. It looks like the F&F Classic Fit Shorts are replacing my beloved Find Your Pace Shorts - but with a $10 price hike! The Cropped Sculpt Tank is also redesigned - with a $10 increase, as well. Everything is getting so expensive.

    1. Hi LZ! Yikes, $78 for shorts is a bit much. I'm hoping for more Hotty Hots, but still waiting for a color I like enough to spend $68. on. =T Price hikes, hopefully means I'll be purchasing less!

    2. Well, I tried on the pull-on pants last night at work....they are amazing. They snatch all the right places and are a nice looking dress pant for work. They feel tight going over my hips but settle nicely once on. I go between a 2/4 and preferred the 4. They also aren't crazy long on me - a roll or 2 of the bottom cuff is fine. Honestly, I feel like they are worth the price for them to fit that dang well.

I don't know if you would be interested, by the Align Mini-Flares 28" are really more like a 24/25" inseam. I didn't try them on but held them up and would guess around there.

Also, did you notice the FZ Cropped Scuba finally released? It took so long that I'm over it now, though.

    3. Oh really... good to know about the Mini-Flares. Looks like for March I'll have a ton of fit reviews! I'm very interested in the Pull-On pants too. Not sure if I will like the cuffing though, but we'll see. What is your inseam?

I did see it finally dropped! I placed an order for a fit review but I swear I will return them. I will wait for a better color if I really love the fit.

    4. I just re-measured my inseam, and it’s 28” - which is what I get in jeans. I wear 25” Aligns and find 28” too long.

    5. Ah you're a bit longer, My jeans are usually a 25 inch. Pull-On pants will definitely be way too long.

  3. hi Leslie! I'm interested in the Seasoft Pant in Coastline Blue, but I can wait until March before I purchase. I think those pants will be good for spring.

    1. Hi Karen! I agree, I want to try them and see if it's worth hemming for me. They're too long even in the petite length. Makes me sad.

    2. Those are nice but why make the petite so long? Is it because they’re suppose to almost drag on the floor? They do that with the flare pants too. What’s with that?

    3. Not sure, but I always need crop lengths for it to work.

  4. I haven't done very well in my no buy... but I only bought a few small things. I haven't made any big purchases and will hold off on any of those til next month. I like some new LLL things but not in love with anything

    1. Hi Janessa! At least that's good you haven't made any big purchases. I would still take that as a win!

  5. I am digging that Mixed Fabric Hoodie, but I agree, the price is obnoxious. I kind of want to buy it just to see if it looks weird on, then if I like it, return it and wait for markdown. The knit cropped pants are intriguing too, but again, too pricey for me. I was happy to see some new styles from Lulu though! it's about time!

    1. Hi Lola! Agreed, Lulu needed to put out new styles. I think we were all getting bored of the same items released in slightly different shades in color. The pricing is a bit wild! I'll put in an order once my Frugal February is over and try it all on. I hope the high prices will mean things won't sell out as quickly.

  6. Thanks for the post. I love those knit pants. But the 24” inseam I think would fall at an awkward length on me. And they’re not hemmable. Not long enough to be full length but not short enough to be ankle or crop. Just like my crop softstreme straight leg pants which I had to get hemmed up a touch to make them ankle length. They weren’t quite full length. I think crop is shorter than ankle right? I’m tempted to order them just to try. Will you do a fit review on that pleated top? I wonder if it’ll be petite friendly.

    1. Hi there, depending on your inseam 24" can hit at a weird spot. It would fall at the ankle for me and should work for summer. Crops should be shorter than ankle, yes.

      Which pleated top?

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
