Happy Friday! This week totally flew by. I blinked and somehow it's mid-October. Halloween is in two weeks and then we're full on holiday mode. Are you all ready? Cuz before you know it, it'll be January 1st 2023. 😩
For today's review, I have the Scuba Plush Hoodie in Heathered Pink Taupe and my initial impressions of the new Strongfeel Training Shoes.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon's tops and my regular sneaker size is 5.5.
Scuba Plush Hoodie Heathered Pink Taupe Size 4
The Scuba Hoodie Plush has been a fan favorite since 2018 and last year we were all disappointed Lulu didn't bring it back for 2021. Here we are in 2022 and it's currently available in three colors. I'm kind of shocked they aren't sold out, but maybe it's because everyone is hoping for better colors than Heathered Pink Taupe, Heathered Black, and Heathered White? Or maybe everyone is just over the Scuba Hoodie Plush? Let me know what you think!
I was super excited to see this available in Heathered Pink Taupe but when I saw it in person, the pink was slightly too pink for me. I wish it was a little deeper and more of a mauve color. The fit, feel and cut were still the same as all the other Scuba Plush Hoodies that I've tried. The sleeves are a little long, but the inside is velvety soft as ever. There really isn't any kind of upgrade or downgrade for this year's version. On a positive note, the price still remains the same at $128.
I'm wearing my usual size 4 and I would say these are still true to size. I ended up returning this Scuba Plush Hoodie, but will keep an eye out for more colors. You just never know with Lulu. Sometimes they'll surprise you with more colors, sometimes this is all you're getting. Only time will tell.
Size 5.5
I initially wasn't going to review these trainers, but it was requested for a fit review and serious lifters are really impressed with them, so my curiosity was piqued. I ordered my usual size 5.5. I went with pink (again) and again, it's tooooo pink! 😂
My usual size 5.5 fit really well. It's a perfect fit and I couldn't find anything to complain about. After trying them on for a few minutes and walking around my carpeted living room, I was seriously impressed and surprised at how much I liked them.
The soles felt very grounded and stable. The heel to toe drop is 6mm. The sole felt slightly cushioned and light on my feet. They are very very comfortable. I actually really want to keep a pair of these, I'm just not into any of the colors that are offered at the moment and will wait for something I really like.
(I'm still not a fan of the huge logos on the back of the shoe though!)
Even though I am not keeping these, I'm still going to recommend them if you're in the market for new training shoes. I definitely like these a lot more than the Blissfeel shoes shoes I reviewed earlier this year. It's worth a try and since Lululemon offers a 30 day trial and lightly worn shoes that are returned will end up being sold on the Like New resale store, it's a win-win.

I love the scuba plush on you! I've never tried it. but if they made a scuba plush fabric in a 1/2 zip or more cropped hoodie I would be so excited to try it. I have a scuba hoodie I sold and one I kept which I never reach for. I am not a fan of the giant logo on the back either but the shoes are still cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Janessa! I have three Scuba Hoodies that I'm debating if I want to rehome since I don't reach for them as often either. I just love the colors though. I sized up so the sleeves wouldn't be as tight but because of that the sleeves are really long. =T

DeleteI loved how cozy my Night Diver Plush Scuba was, but it pilled so badly and just looked old and worn. I'm enjoying (and babying) my OS'd in Electric Turquoise but still feel it's too oversized for my liking. It will be my one and only Scuba unless a more fitted - but still cropped - design comes out.
ReplyDeleteHi LZ - Agreed, they do pill a decent amount after awhile, I still have one from two years ago that's starting to look a little shabby. I actually really like the Oversized Scuba Full Zip in Natural Ivory. I'm debating if I still want to get it in the Carob Brown... they are super comfy as long as I'm okay with the baggy arms, I don't mind the body being boxy.

Thank you for the review and letting us know there are no discernible changes from the original one. I'm kind of interested in the Heathered White one, but I'd probably never be able to keep it looking white!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I too got a pair of the Strongfeels, and I love them. They're not as "bouncy" as my Chargefeels, but I've been wearing them for all my workouts since I got them, and they perform really well. I got the Anchor Grey colorway - they are dark grey with a hint of violet in them (at least to my eyes), so they are a great neutral. The only thing I will complain about, and I have this problem with my Chargefeels too, is the laces! They are such a sleek fabric that they keep coming undone. Very annoying when I'm doing a HIIT workout and have to stop every few minutes to retie my shoes! One of these days, I will probably swap them out for something grippier, but I like the aesthetic of the matching laces.
Hi Lola! Thanks for letting me know about the laces. I would probably swap them out for more grippy laces too, because that would be annoying. I know double knotting is not ideal, but that may work for the time being. I'm looking forward to see what other colors will be available. I definitely would like a pair!

ReplyDeleteHi there! The Plush Scuba Hoodie has been around since 2018, so I didn't realize that it wasn't a known thing- the plush material is on the inside of the hoodie. The outside is the same as regular heathered hoodies. I'll see if I have a picture of the inside in one of my older reviews.

ReplyDeleteI want to try chargefeel but I'm not in the market for a new trainer ... I'm perfectly happy with my converse! And I'm rather rough with my gym shoes so I doubt they'll look clean for long lol... I like the lemon sorbet color combo :)
I would definitely try a Scuba Plush cropped hoodie. Maybe that's in the works. It would make sense for Lulu to put one of those out.
DeleteI'm currently using APL's for weights and I rotate a few pairs of other shoes for running. Honestly you only really need one good trainer shoe unless you're really into matching with your outfits! I'm just overall too lazy haha.
