Fit Review! Lululemon Chargefeel Low Workout Shoe Magenta Purple

How is everyone doing? We're halfway through August already! If you're on the no-buy challenge with me, do you feel like this month is going by fast, or is it moving slowly? I've been pretty busy so the days are flying by, which isn't always a good thing, but it's making the no-buy challenge fairly easy so far. Although, I will say my wish list is growing with 7 items already on it. 😅

A couple of months ago, I reviewed Lululemon's Blissfeel Running Shoe and while I ended up re-homing them, I still wanted to see the Chargefeel Low Workout Shoe in person. For reference I purchased my normal size 5.5.

Magenta Purple is stunning. I kind of love it and I don't have a color like this in my sneaker collection but I would love to see Allbirds release a pair of Tree Dashers or Flyers in a bright fushia. The shoes arrived in simple packaging with just tissue paper lining the box and cardboard inserts.

These look very similar to the Blissfeel running shoes with a few differences. The laces on the Chargefeel are flat and there isn't as much ventilation on the sides. These are meant to be an all around training and running shoe. As expected the sole does not have as much grip and traction as the Blissfeel shoe.

Similar to the Blissfeel shoe, the fit is snug. The shoes feel like they are molded to your foot. If you have wide feet, I would suggest sizing up. These felt just a smidge smaller than the Blissfeel shoe. They come up high on the ankle, which is the same issue I had with the Blissfeel. There's thick padding around the ankle as well and they definitely made my feet feel warm.

Surprisingly, the ankle padding didn't make my feet and ankles look wide and thick. Aesthetically, these are more flattering than the Blissfeel shoe. Now, let's take a look at close up details.

There are a few logos placed throughout the shoe.

Top of the tongue already looked worn out.

How do they feel? The sole feels more stiff and not as bouncy as the Blissfeel shoe, but I did find that it had fair amount of support and felt like a neutral shoe to me.

To recap, if you liked the Blissfeel shoes, you may also like these. If you haven't tried either pair, keep in mind the thick padding keeps your feet warm, even with the ventilated mesh upper. The shoes come up high on the ankle bone. If I had kept these, I wouldn't want to run in them. I would have used them for training only. In my opinion there are better running shoes and training shoes out there with similar pricing. If you tried a pair, let me know what you think! That's it for me, hope you all have a great Monday!

  1. I love that magenta color! It’s so vivid and pretty. It reminds of of my 6 year old pair of Asics that I still wear! I really love bright and saturated colors in my wardrobe. Something about them just makes me happy. :)

  2. Such a pretty color! Like the Blissfeels, I don't like the design. They just don't look like anything special. The logo is also way, way too big for my liking.

    1. Hi LZ - I agree, the logo on the back of the shoe needs to be about a third of the size. I don't know why they needed to make it so big.

  3. Trainers huh! Never knew they made shoes specifically other then running. Cushion on the soles is it bouncy?
Compared to Nike Metcon or specific lifting shoe the heel drop any idea in millimeters?
The overall look is bland no accents find it to saturated to wear highlight similar color tanks or shorts.
Breathability of the shoe you mentioned is important since feet get hot with a lot of friction when training last thing i want is soggy feet. Blisters often happen when wearing them for long time. If you train for hour these might work well. Have nike trainers in burgundy magenta rich color with same sock liner keeps feet warm less breathability. Rarely wear them only on moderate type exercises for those chillier days.

Lululemon is all about color they should focus on that more with better abstract details with the style. Function as you stated better brands out. Looks like Lululemon is behind years of the development of trainer with other brands like Nike.

You mentioned the logo being big for your liking. Mens lululemon leggings often had bigger logo then female styles. Think Lululemon using it's branding to sell shoe, rather having color, style, be desirable to purchase let alone to comfortably wear. In essence they are targeting it as street shoe which can be used for training. Lot of females wear yoga leggings on the street but seldom visit a gym. So to they can wear their shoes but perform sub par for serious training.

    1. Hi Mack! These trainers came out a couple of weeks ago. The sole isn't very bouncy, it felt pretty stiff to me, if any very minimal bounce. Heel drop is 9mm. Is that a bit high?

These are meant for training and running in the description, but I don't think I would personally run in these, I would get way too hot. I do think these are good for body weight training and exercises like skater moves for an hour max.

Good points about these being more of a street shoe versus serious training. I can totally see that and yes these would be appealing with the bright color to make an outfit really stand out.

  4. hi Leslie, Thanks for the fit review! The Chargefeel shoes look more flattering than the Blissfeel, but I prefer the simple streamlined design of Allbird's shoes.

No-buy is going well for me. I find that when I hold off buying, I lose interest or forget about that item. That means I really don't need it. I'm better off saving the money for travels or other things in life. Thanks for encouraging us to join you! Have a great day!

    1. Hi Karen! Same, I am all about Allbirds these days. I am curious if I will ever find a brand that I will like more. It's kind of why I keep trying different shoes.

If I didn't keep a wish list, I would probably forget too. It'll be interesting to see if I will still want these items when September comes! It's nice to have a cushion for rainy days or for travel, and it's a good thing to do every 6 months! Welcome to join me on the next no-buy which is in February. I used to dread it, but now I find myself looking forward to it. =)

  5. Wow that color is so beautiful! I think the shoe is very pretty but I'd want to try all the styles on in person before I'd buy any

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
