Fit Review Friday! Ease Of It All Tank Top & Align Short 6" Diamond Dye Smoky Topaz

Happy Friday! I'm actually taking all four of my cats to the vet this afternoon. 😆 That's going to be fun for all of us. Not! They're due for their annual check up and shots. I'll post updates on my IG stories for anyone who might be interested in seeing how to wrangle four cats into their carriers. I already know one of my cats will poop immediately as soon as the car starts. I can't believe I'm even telling you guys all this!! 😂

Let's get on with today's fit review. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

This tank caught my eye, I believe the fabric is Cupro even though the description only states it as "peach-fuzz soft". The fit is relaxed and I sized down in hopes that the neckline wouldn't be too low, but as you can see it is still very very low on my chest which is very unfortunate because I really liked everything else.

The armholes are deep, and the back of the tank is open with a horizontal back strap to keep them from falling off the shoulders. It feels amazingly cool with an open back. The length is full coverage on my petite frame. The hem sits higher in the front and longer in the back. I really like this tank, but the low neckline is too much for me.

(I love them, super comfy!)

After weeks of agonizing over these Align Shorts, I caved and ordered them but I'm kind of disappointed with the one I received. The uneven splotches on the left side is a bit distracting in my opinion. That area is just too dark compared to the rest of the short. I wish I had gotten a pair that was a bit more even and similar to the one the model is wearing on the website. Now that these cost $74 plus tax, they have to be perfect. Sadly, these are going back. 😢 I am being extra picky about what I'm keeping these days. Are you also spending less because of inflation? I ended up sending both of these items back.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public and I will be posting about it over the weekend. It's worth taking a look and this usually starts my fall shopping. We'll see if anything catches my eye this year. I do have some more reviews coming up. I have a store try-on post coming and another Athleta review next week. That's it for me! Have a great weekend everybody!

  1. Ok so the comment about one of your cats pooping after the car starts made me laugh! And I needed that today. :)

Since I’m a sucker for camouflage, I finally caved and purchased the Loungeful hoodie since it’s on markdown. Curious about the neckline as I don’t like heavy hoods pulling so much on the neck opening. No thumb holes which makes me sad but it looks cozy enough to try it out.

    1. Hi JennyFromTheBlock - glad you got a kick out of it!! It's definitely not fun while it's happening but afterwards, I can laugh about it lol!

Ohhh let me know how you like the Loungeful hoodie!!

    2. It's not just cats! I take care of the guinea pigs at my school. Every time I put them in the carrier to bring them home (for loner breaks), they poop everywhere. I have to clean out the carrier. Every. Single. Time. I think they do it to spite me because they don't like being moved. 😂

    3. *Longer breaks

    4. Wow! I guess it's also just stress. My vet said we can give him some meds next time to take the edge off. On the way home, Ash peed too. So poop on the way there, pee on the way home! Fun times lol.

  2. Thanks for the review, Leslie! The tank looks cute and breezy! Agreed the neckline is too low and it also would be a deal breaker for me.

Too bad about the uneven color blotches on the DIamond Dye short. That’s definitely the problem with Diamond Dye prints and you might need to order a few pairs to pick the one you like. ;(

I’m gonna check out your post on IG, :D

    2. Hi Andrea! I don't know why you can't sign in with google... it's very strange. =T

This is the first time I wasn't happy with the diamond dye print. I guess it had a pretty good run!

  3. Hi Leslie! How did the vet visit go today? I hope your cats are all doing well!

Thanks for the fit review! I like cupro, but I agree that the neck opening of this tank is too low. I stopped by a Lululemon store today and had a chance to try on the Instill jacket. I think the curved hem is more petite-friendly than the luon define jacket. I like the smooth cover material a lot. It's very soft and comfortable. Sizing-wise, it fits like the luon define jacket. The sleeves are a little long on me, but not too bad. Overall, I think it's petite friendly, especially for those of us who don't like cropped jackets.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Karen! Cats are doing well. Simi is probably the most stressed out, she is still hissing at everybody. But at least she's not hiding. We are waiting for some test results, Simi lost 2.5 pounds since her last visit, and that is a lot of weight to lose for a cat. She only weighs 7.5 lbs. They took some blood to check her thyroid levels. Ash has a slight ear infection and we have meds for that as well. Neko is the healthiest. Flash has some allergies but nothing too bad. All in all, it was a good visit, we survived!

Did you end up buying the Instill Jacket? I do like the look of it, but it does remind me of the Define just a bit, good to know that the curved hem is more petite friendly. Thanks for the review!!

    2. Oh no, I hope Simi is doing ok. 2.5 lbs is a lot of weight loss. It's good to do these annual checkups, so any health conditions can be caught sooner rather than later. I hope the vet can figure out what's going on, so Simi can have proper treatment.

I didn't buy the Instill jacket because they only had it in Poolside and it's too bright for me. If it's released in a nice colour in the fall, I will consider. The cutting is very similar to the define jacket, but I prefer the smooth cover material. I think it'll make a good warmup jacket on cold days.

    3. The blood results came back perfect, so I just need to figure out how to get her to eat more. She's just doesn't care about food like the rest of them. She's not motivated by food at all. All the others get excited when i say Treat Time! She just sits there and doesn't move while the rest of them run to me.

Poolside is VERY bright. Even my husband said it was too much lol! I'm sure better colors will be released soon when fall arrives.

  4. Disappointing the random dark print blotch on the align shorts. The print appears very busy. Unless you have plans for interior design painting i say keep it as pricy work shorts. Otherwise return is wise move.

Tank hem high low is best part of it. Fit is not shapely by design surprised Lululemon didn't contour the waist more. Fitment resembles much like potato sack not your fault with sizing but genesis of the design. Not flattering unless someone is overweight and busty who enjoys flaunting cleavage. Looks better in the back but thats more a testament of your shape then the tank.

Leslie you fit the align 6" shorts really well. You should think about trying 4" align shorts.

Guessing you spent about double the amount the outfit cost on your Garfield feline pets.. Never a sale at the vet?

    1. Hi Mack! Thank you! I have tried the 4" Align Short, but feels like it is too short when I workout. The 6" is a little bit more comfy, but I think since I'm so short, 5" length would probably be the best length. Aritzia has 5" but they're also almost always sold out. And I do not follow Aritzia enough to know when they do restocks or drop new colors.

Haaaaah, the vet bill came out to just under $900! Ouch. Was kind of expecting it though, it's usually a couple of hundred per cat on average! Will have to go on a ban next month for sure. =D

  5. I am definitely spending less at LLL these days! Not sure about spending less in general xD The tank is super pretty in the back! I am not a fan of low cut tanks for working out these days and reach for crew necks more.

    1. Hi Janessa! Same, I am just spending money at Allbirds and Athleta a lot more.... I'm sure they will also increase their prices soon. I can't do low cut tanks either. Just looks weird on me!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Review! Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Size Small Plus Video

You all know I love my bags, and as a Balenciaga collector, I don't often stray from the City and First style. The Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive) really caught my eye. It gives off a slouchy Hermes Kelly vibe, but way more practical to use.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall. Balenciaga Rodeo Bag Small The Rodeo can be carried a few ways. It comes with a crossbody strap that is not adjustable but it is removable. Not sure why anyone wouldn't add a few extra holes to make a strap adjustable these days. Come on Balenciaga! Do better! The top handle is a bit too long for this to work anyhow, I feel like the top handle gets in the way. It sticks out and doesn't sit well in my opinion. I wouldn't carry this bag crossbody unless it was an unforeseen emergency and I really needed my hands free. This bag looks more chic carried by the handle or crook of the arm. It also looks nice left open with the help of the flap tucked in. The Rodeo resembles the Kelly bag ...

Fit Review! Aviator Nation Navy Hoodie 5 Stripe

Is it already Monday? This weekend just flew by. For the first time since early 2020, I met up with a friendly neighbor and we went out for dim sum. At the end we hugged since I hadn't seen her in forever. I told her, "You're the first person I hugged since the pandemic started that isn't my husband!" 😄  For today's post, this is a hoodie I've been dying to try for months but kept putting it off because of the price tag. Aviator Nation is not cheap. Not a whole lot makes me pause because I'm used to seeing Lululemon hoodies priced at $128-$138. Aviator Nation comes in at a whopping $189.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and I am wearing a size XS in Aviator Nation. For Lululemon tops I typically wear a size 4. 5 Stripe Hoodie  Navy Size XS The interesting thing about Aviator Nation is their hoodies are unisex sizing. The available sizes are XS-XXL. The female model is shown wearing size XS while the male model is shown wearing size large. I took a c...
