Fit Review! Allbirds Trail Runners SWT - Forager Green

How is it Monday again? I blink and the weekend is over. A few of you have asked me for a review on Allbirds Trail Runners SWT and who am I to say no? Hazy Pink was my first pick but my size was sold out at the time. When I saw the limited edition Forager Green pop up, I purchased immediately. It's not for everyone because the colors are loud but I love the purple/orange combo and the green really pops.

For reference my Allbirds size is 5.5 and I ordered the same size in the Trail Runners SWT.

Allbirds released the Trail Runners SWT - (Sugar, Wool, Tree) last year and it wasn't really on my list to try since my husband and I are city folk and rarely do we ever go hiking. Since so many of you asked for a review, I obliged.

These shoes are made of eucalyptus tree fiber, merino wool, and the midsole is made from sugar cane. These are literally made from nature! I think that's pretty amazing.

The fit is very similar to Allbirds Tree Dashers 1 and 2. The toe box is wide and roomy. The sock-like collar fits snugly around the ankle to keep debris out and gives it a bit of support which I found to be very comfortable.

The treads are really substantial. They look like macaroni noodles which makes me laugh. The midsole is thick which unfortunately makes these the heaviest Allbirds shoe I own. I don't think I would be able to run in these to be honest, but then again I'm not a serious runner. It was fine when I tested these on a walking trail and through a city walk. In both scenarios it was only for 2-3 hours. I think these are best for casual everyday walking and short hikes / trail running.

I didn't notice my feet getting hot when I was wearing them, but my feet tend to run cold. However, if you're the opposite of me, these will probably make your feet sweat. For $140, the quality is excellent. They're super well made, and very comfortable to wear. Just be mindful that these are heavy.

Here are some photos from our nature walk. 😆

He does not have hiking shoes, he went in his Allbirds Tree Dashers 1 and it was fine. We didn't do anything crazy!

Spotted a deer!!

Would I buy another pair? Answer is - maybe. Not gonna lie, now that Hazy Pink has restocked in my size, I'm kinda tempted! The lilac-camo combo is very much my speed. That's all I have for today, let me know what you think of these shoes and hope everyone has a fantastic start to the last week of June!!

  1. hi Leslie! Thanks for the review! Your colour choice is bold! I think they look very cool even though contrasting colours is generally not my cup of tea. Hazy pink looks very nice too! I like the deeper treads and the shape of these shoes. I'm not a big hiker, but will keep these in mind if I need a pair of hiking shoes! Have a great week!

    1. Hi Karen! My Allbirds collection is getting out of control! But yes, they make great hiking shoes. This is my second hiking shoe ever. I bought a pair of Merrell's a couple of years ago.

  3. Thanks so much for the review, Leslie! I’m tempted to get a pair even though I don’t hike at all lol. My Allbirds collection is getting bigger and I hope to get a pair of Tree Dasher Relay. None of the three colors offered interest me though and I hope to see a nice grey coming out. Too bad Sesame never made its way to Canada last time. :(

    1. Hi Andrea! Tree Dasher Relays are definitely in my top 3 favorites from Allbirds. The colors really are lacking, but happy with the two I have so far. I am tempted to get the black because it goes with everything, but hopefully they will release more colors eventually!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
