Fit Review! Vuori Clean Elevation Shorty & Performance Jogger

Is it April already?! I've got a short and sweet fit review for you all. Ever since Lululemon increased their price for their Align Short from $58 to $68, I have been on a mission to find similar shorts for less. Plus Lulu can't seem to keep their shorts in stock these days. 😐

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wearing size XS in Vuori. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon Align Shorts.

Clean Elevation Shorty Smoked Plum Heather Size XS
also wearing Ebb To Street Crop Tank Black Size 6

I purchased the Clean Elevation Shorty in two colors. The Smoked Plum Heather is really gorgeous in person. It's a fairly dark purple with a hint of brown undertones but it's definitely purple. I'm wearing size XS and they're a pinch tighter than what I'd like. It looks like a perfect fit in the photos, but the seam going across my lower waist digs in my hip just a bit. The fit is high rise and they definitely cover my belly button.

The Black Camo print is done really well. I'm fairly picky about my Camo pieces and this pair looks really good. The fabric feels very soft and almost like brushed suede. The fabric is also fairly thicker than Nulu. I would say it's about double the thickness. These shorts are supportive and have lightweight compression.
The fit is very comfortable but it's not the same naked feeling of Aligns. There is a pocket on the waistband but it's not big enough to hold a phone.

The inseam measures 6 inches which I think it's the longest length I would like for this style of shorts. Price is $54. Sometimes when Vuori has their end of season sale, you can find these for $39. I ended up returning both pairs and my search for a good Align Short dupe continues!

Performance Jogger Shade Heather Size XS - 25" inseam
also wearing Aritzia Boyfriend Hoodie Size XS

I think these are my 8th pair of Performance Joggers? I love them that much and these have been my favorite joggers for the last two years. I'm wearing my usual size XS. The color Shade Heather is a summertime blue. The fabric is super soft and I rank it up there along Nulu. The best part is, it's not as delicate as Nulu and washes really well. My oldest Performance Jogger is still pretty dang soft. It's lost some of the buttery feel but I've probably washed it 50 times by now so I can't complain.

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fun start to the week!

  1. Thanks for another great review, Leslie! Now that the weather is slowly warming up, I will be reaching for my Align Shorts soon! While they are buttery soft and really comfy, I don’t think I’ll be investing in another pair because of the pilling. They are not cheap and I expect better quality.

I really Ike the Clean Elevation Shorty Smoked Plum Heather on you. The color is simply gorgeous and it complement your skin tone. Do you choose to return both shorts cos they fit a bit too tight? Other than that, I personally think they look perfect on you! Hopefully the fabric doesn’t pill like Nulu!

The Performance Jogger looks comfy. Do you find it fitting looser than Athleta’s Balance Jogger? The latter is buttery soft but I find it a tad too tight in the rise and the legs. I like joggers that fit slightly loose but not baggy. :)

    1. Hi Andrea!

Yes, I ended up returning both because they were slightly too tight on my hips and also because they are slightly compressive and I prefer the naked feel of the Aligns. So far with Vuori, I have only experienced very minimal pilling across all items. I can't complain.

I took out my Athleta Balance Jogger in PXS, Vuori Jogger in XS and size XXS and laid them on top of one another. The Athleta Balance Jogger PXS and Vuori Jogger in XS are almost the same exact cut.

However the Vuori XXS is definitely slimmer in the leg and slightly smaller waist as well. when compared to Athleta PXS Balance Jogger. The rise on the Vuori seems to be lower than Athleta Balance Jogger. I would say you can always try a size up with Athleta, sometimes that makes all the difference. For Vuori if you prefer high rise, you might not like these. Definitely mid-rise.

    2. One more thing Andrea, Vuori Performance Joggers are thinner than Balance Jogger, they are not lined with fleece, so definitely not as warm either.

    3. Thank you sooo much for comparing the joggers for me, Leslie! I never thought of sizing up cos the waist and hip fit me perfectly, but maybe I should. Will wait for the next sale. :)

  3. Have you ever tried Align dupes from Ali-express. They work very well bought watermelon red last summer similar colour to Lululemon rustic coral. Also bought sage grey shorts when Lululemon sold out. Dark burgundy, red wine lot of colours very similar only different names.
Worth a try for 1/4 the cost i suggest try the 2.0 Shinbene shorts are exactly as align shorts.

Another store align leggings i bought two colours tide blue which is tidewater teal from lululemon. Also bronze and sand color leggings. Ask and the lululemon logo will be stamped on the back of the waistband for few $. Bought lo free of charge, option maybe not available,

    1. Hi Mack, I have not shopped at Ali-Express before. I have tried a pair of leggings and joggers from Amazon but wasn't too impressed. Do you have a specific link for the 6 inch short version? I would give those a try.

Almost exactly like align shorts only problem i found with these slightly loose at the waistband the other newer versions links above lot tighter fitting.

  4. Aritzia has TNA Butter Cheeky (V seam like aligns) shorts in 5" 7" and 9"! I read they're really similar but the white is sheer in a review. I am very curious and they run at $38 each and have tons of colors! I am going to try those but wish they had more colors in the 5" in stock.

The Vuori jogger color is one of my faves I've seen! Definitely your color!

    1. Hi Janessa! Those are definitely on my list to try. I see only a few colors are in stock with my size though. Hopefully they will have more soon! I am looking for the 5 inch ones also.

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
