Review! On Cloud Tide Magnet & Photos of the New Office

How is everyone doing? Have you seen the meme going around that says "I really enjoyed the five minutes between Covid and World War III?" or "We survived the pandemic to be rewarded with WWIII? It's awful to see what's happening to Ukraine. It makes things like reviewing clothing and accessories just seem superfluous at times like this. I've donated to a few places that will help aid the people of Ukraine. If you can help, please do. The company I work for has offered to match every donation so definitely see if that's something available to you as well. I will link a few charities to donate to at the end of this post for those who may be interested.

In other news, the weekends always feel too short. On Saturday I usually end up doing errands. Sunday- I try to relax and take a moment but it makes me sad that Monday is around the corner. I've mentioned in my previous post that my office moved to a new location. The new space is very nice. I shared some photos on my Instagram stories but for those who may have missed it, I'll include a few here.

These are photos of the social space. It reminds me of a swank hotel lobby. Everything is brand spanking new. There are a lot of amenities here. There's a gym with a Peleton Bike for tenants to use! It's super walkable with a movie theatre, retail shops and a lot of restaurants in the area. It's actually kind of dangerous for my bank account with everything available right at my finger tips.

I went to Avalon today and saw that the old Lululemon store will become an Allbirds store! 😱 That's going to be so dangerous! I'm very excited to have one kind of close to me.

I also stopped by the new Lululemon store and saw this top on the mannequin caught my eye. It's really pretty and quite stunning in person. I just finished a long walk and was quite sweaty so I didn't want to do a try on. I think I might like it if I saw it in a tank top. 🙏

Before I go into the fit review, just FYI, I will have a proper Fit Review Friday coming this week. I finally received some of my orders and will take photos tomorrow. I'll post a sneak peak on my Instagram stories for you. That's enough rambling from me, let's get on with the review! I'm sure you're all quite sick of my Allbirds reviews, so I decided to try some new to me brands. On Clouds caught my eye after seeing Frills and Drills has a giant collection in her closet, I had to see what the hype is for myself.

On came in a very simple cardboard box and tissue paper. I am very happy to see more companies foregoing plastic in their packaging. I really hope Athleta and Lululemon follow suit.

No plastic anywhere!

(Comes with extra set of traditional laces.)

I ordered two pairs to try. Tide | Magnet and Shark | Pebble. I wasn't sure about the sizing so I ordered 5.5 and size 6 to try. I wear a size 5.5 in Allbirds Tree Dashers and the 5.5 fit me best in the On Cloud. I love the speed lacing system! It is so much better than traditional laces. However, if you do prefer traditional laces, they do come with a set for you to switch out. The fit is snug and I'm one of those people that is very lazy when it comes to tying my shoes so these bungie type laces are amazing. The Tide | Magnet reminds me of Tidewater Teal a little bit, but more blue. The Shark | Pebble is gorgeous I have to admit, but it does border on gray when not in direct sunlight.

Since size 5.5 fit me best, I ended up keeping the On Cloud in Tide | Magnet. I figure if I really like them, I'll just get them in another color! These shoes are best meant for all day, everyday wear. They are super light, even lighter than my Allbirds Tree Dashers.

I've had these for a few weeks now and have done some long walks in them. Verdict? While they do the job and are comfortable, I have to say they are not as comfortable as my Allbirds Tree Dashers. I have very thin feet, so I feel every single rock if the soles are on the thinner side and these are just a little too hard for me. Allbirds has the perfect amount of bouncy cushion that I love.

The mesh upper definitely keeps your feet cool, so these are great for warmer temperatures. The quality and construction are top notch. I love the colors that are offered, and I wish these were as comfortable as my Allbirds. But maybe it's better that they aren't because my bank account would have a big problem with me. 😂 I could totally see another collection in the future, but Thank God I prefer my Allbirds. That said, I'm pretty sure many people would disagree with me and love On Clouds.

Do let me know if you have a pair of these and a pair of Allbirds. Would love to know what your thoughts are between the two! That's it for me! I'll see you all back on Tuesday. It's going to be a big day as it is International Women's Day!

  1. Thanks for the review, Leslie! Looks like these are comfy shoes and I love the bungee type laces cos I also hate tying shoe laces! :D. That said, I do prefer the simple look of AllBird shoes which is great for an everyday casual look.

I’ve been looking at Vessi which is a Canadian brand but I simply do not like the shoe designs. Am I the only one who like things to be classic and simple? :)

    1. Hi Andrea! I never heard of Vessi, but took a look and the Everyday shoe looks a little bit like Allbirds design. They look comfy. I definitely prefer the Allbirds look.

The new social space looks very nice but I would still rather be on my couch with my kitties! Hahahahah.

  3. Your new office social space looks so nice, Leslie! I'd like to try the bungee cord system for shoes but my husband said he tried a pair but they become loose overtime? Do you find that to be the case?

So cool that you have a new Lulu store! Also love visiting new stores:D

    1. Hi Blueberries - so far I haven't noticed the stretching of the laces but I've only had it for a couple of weeks. Did your husband say how long it took to stretch out? I wonder if you can buy replacements.

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...
