Happy Friday! Hope you're all doing well. I'm still adjusting going back to the office even if it is only three days a week. It's tough waking up at 6:45 am, especially since I am NOT a morning person at all. The commute is long and not ideal but once I'm at the office, I'm fine. Hopefully after a few weeks I'll get used to the new routine. You can tell I look exhausted in these pictures even though I was actually very excited to review the Alicia Keys Hoodie.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size XXS/PXS in Athleta tops. For bras I generally wear size small. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and size 6 for bras.

After perusing the Athleta X Keys collection, I was looking forward to trying on the Keys Seasoft Hoodie the most. The color is a beautiful mauve/brown which is right up my alley. The fabric is super soft and smooth and very similar to Lululemon's Softstreme but more lightweight. The thinner fabric drapes beautifully especially down the back of the hoodie.
I'm wearing size XXS in these photos. The sleeve length is nearly perfect and it's very petite friendly. The cropped hoodie hits at the high hip. The hardware has a light gold finish. I absolutely loved everything except for the elastic hem at the waist. The elastic band is very small and not stretchy enough. I was hoping it would be adjustable, but sadly it is not. This hoodie would have been perfect but because this is meant for smaller waists, it is unfortunately not for me. The only way I could wear this hoodie is if I left it unzipped. Considering the high price point of $139, this was a deal breaker for me. I am so disappointed they went with this design and cannot imagine why they didn't make it cinchable/adjustable. I'm pretty baffled.
This hoodie looks amazing on, but it's just not comfortable to wear. 😞 I can't tell you how sad I am to have to return this hoodie. That said, I do have one more Alicia Keys item on the way, and that is the Keys relaxed Crop Top in Magnolia White. Here's hoping it works out better than the hoodie. Next up we have the Elation V-Neck Crop in Tawny Rose.

This tank reminds me of the Align Tank but it's so much more comfortable and it's flattering. The cut of the front is very similar to the Align Tank but the back has a deeper V shape. It's so comfy, it feels like a bralette. It doesn't dig in anywhere and the straps are adjustable! Hallelujah! You can also wear it with the straps cross crossed but I did not try that. The fabric is Powervita which is similar to Nulu -buttery soft.
This bra is meant for low impact workouts. I've already worn it twice and absolutely loved it so much I went and ordered it in two more colors- Black and Elfin Purple. The price is $54 and I think it's well worth the money since Align Tanks are now a whopping $68. 😱 You can't go wrong with Tawny Rose. In fact it looks a lot like Lululemon's Smoky Red. I also tried Athleta's Renew Bra in Exotic Fuchsia. I'm wearing size small.

The Renew Bra reminds me a lot of Lululemon's Ebb To Street Bra, in regards to style and fabric. I was kind of sad Lulu isn't releasing more colors in the ETS, and happy to see something similar from Athleta. This is a new bra from Athleta, so there's only three colors to choose from at the moment. I purchased this in Black and Exotic Fuchsia. The size small is very similar to Lulu's size 6. It feels a little more roomy in the under bust.
For those of you who are interested, there is an upcoming 20% off sale starting on March 19th for Athleta card holders. On March 24th it will be open to the public. I've already started looking around to see what else I want to try but will hold off checking out until the sale starts! Get your shopping carts ready. That's it for me! hi Leslie! What a beautiful hoodie! It's disappointing that the waistband is not stretchy because this hoodie looks really great on you. To me, this colour is perfection. Not too girly, neutral enough and very flattering on your skin tone.

Hi Karen, yes I am so sad about the elastic around the waist. I wonder if there's a way to replace the elastic with something else. Something more stretchy perhaps? I don't know, it's a little too expensive to mess around with.
DeleteI'm not gonna lie, I was kind of hoping that hoodie wouldn't be petite-friendly so that I wouldn't pine for it anymore, but wow, it is lovely! The color reminds me of Lulu's Lunar Rock, which is one of my all time favorites! It is too bad about the waistband though, but it looks really flattering on you! Would a size up be better perhaps?

Hi Lola, the color is so pretty. I honestly really love the hoodie. I did try the size up, XS but it was much too baggy everywhere else. The XXS really is perfect fit but the waist. I don't know if the elastic would stretch out over time? I'm not sure but it is pretty wide like almost an inch wide and seems very hard to stretch. I wonder if the elastic is replaceable. I don't usually like to mess around with clothing though. And I do not know of a good tailor here in Atlanta. I'll keep you posted when the Crop Tee arrives! I think it arrives today.

ReplyDeleteFrom WMTM, I picked up the boxed set of LLL sparkle socks I've been watching since the holidays. Woohoo! Also, the Sonic Pink Swiftly LS Race and 2.5" Speed Ups were both in stock this morning, so I bought them to see in person. They need to be absolutely perfect at $78 and $68!

I stopped by this morning and picked up Momentum LS in Heathered Grey (more substantial than other colors!) and Run With It Skort in White with 20% off and some reward points. I am so in love with the skort. It is similar to Lululemon's HH skirt but better and more flattering IMO. I may have to pick up the fuschia one too.

Hi Andrea! I did not do a review of the Studio Pant because of the wide leg. I'm a little too short for the inseam as well. It's 27 inches and would drag on the floor for me. If the inseam works for you, I think you should give it a try!
