Fit Review! My Christmas present to myself - Naked Cashmere Rowen and Ava Snood

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Did you all shop Lululemon's Boxing Day Sale? If you did let me know what you got! I myself received Lululemon gift cards from my family. I haven't purchased anything yet and I'm waiting for the next upload. In all honestly I have so much Lululemon from collecting the last 6 years that I have A LOT and probably more than I should need. Here's a photo of my collection in tags. This isn't even all of it because I have purged quite a bit from my collection over the years.

Speaking of purging, I have listed a few items on my Poshmark account and will be listing more every so often. Feel free to add me or make me an offer! I'm new to Poshmark and so far it's been an interesting experience. There's a lot of haggling which I'm not used to. 😆

Let's get on with today's fit review. This is my Christmas present to myself this year. For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size XS in Naked Cashmere. I also typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops.

Rowen Adobe Size XS

Just for some back story, around 2007 or so I purchased this cashmere/merino wool cardigan from Joie for $500. At the time this was SUPER expensive for me (still is) but I loved that cardigan so much I literally wore it to pieces over the next five years or so. I even added patches to the elbows to try to extend its life. Eventually it went in the trash because there were just holes everywhere. It was my favorite sweater and to this day I still think about it. Nearly 10 years later since I trashed that Joie cardigan, I think I've finally found its replacement. Here is Naked Cashmere's Rowen Cardigan

I discovered Naked Cashmere earlier this year and I have to say it's one of the best discoveries I've made in a long time. They make high quality cashmere pieces that should last for many years if taken care of properly. This cardigan checks all the boxes I was looking for. The color Adobe is a gorgeous shade of taupe brown. I debated going with Sheepskin but worrying about it being so light in color it gave me anxiety and I needed a color I wouldn't worry about showing every single mark. The fit is oversized but this is exactly the look and feel I'm going for. I want to be wrapped up in the softest cashmere and feel warm and cozy.

The cable knit detail of this cardigan is really something special. The price is high, and I was a little skeptical about about keeping it, but after seeing this in person, it's worth it. This is a medium to heavy weight cashmere. The shawl collar with the patch pockets is perfection. If this wasn't so expensive, I would get the Sheepskin color as well!

Also wearing Ava Snood in Mink

If you're looking to dip your toes into Naked Cashmere and want to give it a try without breaking your bank account, the Ava Snood is a great piece to start with. I wear this around the house when it gets a little chilly. It's lightweight, but adds warmth without the bulk. The mink color is the perfect neutral that will look good with almost anything. I'll even throw this on with my hoodies when I go out.

That's it for me! Hard to believe this is the last week of 2021. Let's make it a great one.

  1. This is such a pretty and luxurious cardigan, Leslie! I love everything about it - shawl collar, cable knit pattern, and the beautiful taupe color! I honestly think it looks perfect on you!

I used to wear a lot of sweaters but not so much in the last ten years or so. Bought a handwash only cable knit sweater from MUJI last winter and after washing it once at the end of the season, I've decided not to wear it again. Just too much trouble taking care of it LOL.

I'm a scarf person and love snoods as well. I have a few of them and love that they are effortless to put on. The Ava Snood looks so cute on you and goes really well with the Rowen Cardigan. I think you've got yourself the perfect Christmas gifts, Leslie!

    1. Hi Andrea! Thank you so much, it's such a special piece and looking forward to wearing it to pieces!

I used to feel the same way having to handwash or dry clean until I discovered Dryel. Have you heard of it? It works on wool and cashmere. Basically cleans it using steam and your dryer.

Hope you had a happy Christmas!

    2. I used Dryel over 15 years ago and not sure if the product I used is the same as what you’ve mentioned. I remember having to put a Dryel sheet together with the sweaters into a special bag and throw it into the dryer. I never knew if it did a good job or not! :D

    3. Oh wow 15 years ago! I never heard about it until a few years back. I think if the clothes just needs to be freshened up and they are not heavily soiled or stained, Dryel is probably fine. Otherwise I'd get it professionally dry cleaned if need be.

  3. This is the cardigan of my dreams?? The chunkiness, the color, the length, the knit pattern. OMG! I cannot afford that cardigan rn but maybe some day. I'd rather buy other things (that'll probably add up...). But I will admire. It's so beautiful and perfect on you!

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
