How is everyone doing? Omicron seems like it's everywhere. I was hoping to visit my family in New York for Lunar New Year but that is now out of the question. Sigh. At least Christmas is only 5 sleeps away. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm out there!
I have an Allbirds review for you today. Just a reminder I've partnered up with Allbirds. Click on my link for a free pair of Trino socks with your purchase of shoes or apparel. Offer will automatically be applied at checkout if socks are added to your cart.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wearing size XS in Allbirds. I also wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.
R&R Hoodie True Navy Size XS
I've been curious about their new loungewear line and wanted to give it a try, especially if they're anything like their footwear (crazy comfortable). The color selection isn't great, there's only a handful of colors right now. I opted to go with True Navy for the hoodie and plain old Black for the sweatpant.
The fabric is made of 50% organic Peruvian cotton, 30% hemp and 20% Tencel. It feels like brushed cotton on the outside and soft terry on the inside. This is a medium weight hoodie and very cozy. The fit is relaxed without looking sloppy. I'm wearing size XS and find it to be quite petite friendly. My husband said the hoodie looked flattering on me. I was almost tempted to keep this one, but I am hoping for other colors that will pull at my heartstrings.
Allbirds uses their signature shoe laces as their drawstring for the hoodie which I thought is a really cute detail. There is a tiny logo on the back of the hoodie that you can only see if the hood is up. There is also a small decal of the carbon footprint on the bottom left of the sweatshirt. If you're curious, the number is 22.6 kg.
The price is $118 for this hoodie, which I find to be a little steep. They do have a sweatshirt without the hood for $98. That said, if they come out with a really nice color like a dark teal or a dark purple I would get it. Although, I am sort of digging the Natural White, but I'm too scared I'll stain it.
For the R&R Sweatpant I'm wearing size XS. The length is a bit long, they measure 28 inches. On my short frame there is a bit of bunching at the ankles. My preferred length is 26 inches. The waist is a bit too tight on me. The size chart states size XS is for a 24-25 inch waist and I think that's accurate. I'm more of a 26 inch and these are just a pinch too snug for my tastes. They do have a little bit of stretch but it's not very comfortable. I would do better with a size small but it would be too big everywhere else.
R&R Sweatpant Black Size XS
The color is a deep black but it definitely catches a lot of pet hair, which is why I steer clear of black clothing. Below are some close up photos but they are washed out to show the details. Similar to the hoodie, there is a decal of the carbon footprint of 19.4 kg near the front pocket.
Allbirds logo on the back side near the pocket.
The price of the sweatpant is $98. They are very well made and the quality is there. The fabric is the same as the matching hoodie. This is a medium weight sweatpant and would work for lounging as well as chilly weather.
Overall, I would definitely recommend trying them out. The quality is definitely there. The hoodie is very petite friendly. The only downside is the price tag. That said, if Allbirds released these in a color that I absolutely love, I will probably buy it. 😆
That's it for me! Have a fantastic Monday!

hi Leslie! Thanks for the fit review! I also think the hoodie fits you well and navy looks good on you! The price tag is steep, but seems in line with Lululemon prices. Do you think their quality is better? Have a good week! Just a few more days until Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I would have to keep one and see how it washes and dries. (Will it shrink? Pill?) So far from what I saw, it was very well constructed. The quality was on par with Lululemon. I will say I do like that they are a Certified B Corp. Seems like they care about the planet and their workers, and that does rack up extra points with me.
DeleteFew more days until Christmas and Boxing Day! =D
Yes, I think Athleta is as well? I think many of us would like to see Lululemon do more to protect their factory workers and the environment.
DeleteYes, Athleta is as well. Love what they stand for, especially the Power of She. I think it's great for younger girls to see a brand really back their female athletes!
DeleteThanks for sharing that Allbirds now make clothing! That's really new to me as I've only known about their shoes!
ReplyDeleteHi Jean! Let me know if you end up trying anything! I love their shoes so much. It's pretty much all I wear these days. Comfort is so important!
DeleteThe hoodie is cute but not a scuba 1/2 zip or LLL jacket cute! Maybe the materials will hold up really well? The joggers are also nice but not super cute at that price range. I would buy on sale or for maybe $20 less on each item
ReplyDeleteI agree, there's so much competition for similar prices, they really need to do something different to stand out. I say better colors at least.
