Hello! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I've been in a decluttering mode. It's unbelievable how many things I've accumulated in the past 5 years of moving to Atlanta. There is a challenge called 30 Day Minimalism Game. It's more fun if you do it with a friend. Each person gets rid of one thing on the first day, two things on the second day, three things on the third day and so on until you reach the end of the month. I've found that if you are able to keep tally and stay ahead of the challenge it really takes the stress off. It's Day 18, but I'm already up to Day 25. Oh, and anything goes. Clothes, shoes, towels, bedding. I've found a lot of items in the bathroom and in cabinets and drawers. I've found that the bedroom is the best room in the whole house because of how minimalist it is. I am now trying to achieve this in every room. Let me know if you have tried this challenge or a variation of this challenge.
Today I have an Allbirds review of the TrinoXO Tee in the Classic Fit and Relaxed Fit.
For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and wear size XS or Small in Allbirds. I typically wear size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

This is the TrinoXO Tee Classic Fit in Ironbark. I really love this color. It's such a pretty blue. All of the reviews mentioned this tee runs small, so I went up a size and purchased the size small. Definitely the right call. I prefer my tees a little roomy and found the size small to be perfect. The crew neck is not too restrictive and the short sleeves hit right at the biceps. The fabric is super soft and silky to the touch. I would absolutely purchase another one of these tees in a different color. These tees are easy to care for as well, machine wash and tumble dry low.
The TrinoXO Relaxed Fit tee reminds me of Lululemon's Cates Tee, but more boxy/oversized and not as cropped. The length is a bit longer offering more coverage. The sleeves are also longer, they nearly reach my elbow. For this style, I stayed with my usual size XS, no need to size up.

The fabric is the same material as the Classic Fit tee. Between the two styles I prefer the Classic Fit. I find it to be more versatile and flattering. For some reason the Relaxed Fit tee comes in more colors. Both tees are very comfortable, you really can't go wrong with either one!

In other news, I recently threw out all of my old make up and decided to start fresh. My first make up purchase are Laura Mercier's new RoseGlow caviar eye shadow sticks.
I'm a fan of her Caviar sticks in general and two of my favorites from her collection are Amethyst and Rush. Amethyst is a very pretty soft mauve and Rush is violet duo chrome with a hint of red. It's really pretty and probably my favorite.
From left to right - Bed of Roses, Rose Thorn, Kiss From A Rose, and Wild Rose.
I decided to try four out of the six colors from the RoseGlow collection. I avoid most red based eye colors. They're the least flattering shade on me along with yellows and oranges.
Bed of Roses - is my least favorite. It has too much orange/red and didn't find it too flattering with my skin tone, so I am returning it.
Rose Thorn- a shimmery plum purple. It's dark but will be used as an eyeliner.
Kiss From A Rose- very pretty shimmering pink. This actually makes a really nice base color for layering.
Wild Rose- shimmering champagne rose. This would be a great shade to wear on its own. Probably my favorite of the four I tried.

I like both tees on you - that blue is really pretty! Question about the Caviar Sticks: how easy are they to work with? Are they easy to apply/blend? I've never tried eyeshadow in that form, but I'm intrigued now!
ReplyDeleteHi Lola! I think they're way easier than using palettes or quads. There's also zero fall out. I use my fingers to blend or you can use a brush if you prefer. You do have to be quick but it's literally so easy you can't really mess it up. It also stays on really well. I'm never going back to using the powder eye shadow. I would try one and see if you like it!
DeleteI'm loving thee blue shades of the tee! Like cousins of Tidewater Teal! I've tried her caviar sticks before and they're amazing! I have been downsizing and replacing my makeup products but I don't want to throw out some items... even though they need to be tossed. I have some I keep just to look at because of cute packaging
ReplyDeleteHaha I feel you Janessa, I went through the same thing. In the end I just tossed it quick and shut my eyes! Started new.... I have some cute lipsticks coming... will report back on how I like it.
