Fit Review! Twist Back To Front Pullover & Scuba Hoodie Light Cotton Fleece Heathered Hawaiian Blue

How is everyone doing? Bedroom update- it's completely done, but we're waiting for new nightstands and the bed frame to arrive. We just rolled out the new rug and it's still uncurling. The bed frame is made to order so I'm hoping it comes faster than the estimated delivery! Let's get to the fit review.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops, but for today's review I deviated from my normal sizing. Details below.

This pullover definitely runs large, I sized down to a size 2 and it's still pretty loose. There's a really good chance I could have sized down to a size 0 and it would still fit. This is a relaxed fit top made of the same fabric as the Soft Ambitions Crop pullover from last summer that I love. However, this one is noticeably thinner fabric than the Soft Ambitions line. It feels the same, but it's very light weight. I do think it does go with this type of top, it's meant for warmer weather. The fabric feels very soft and cool when you first put it on and then it warms up to your body temperature.

The sleeves are super long and baggy on my petite frame, it doesn't look flattering. This top can be worn two ways, but neither version really worked for me. The color pink mist totally washed me out. Even the camera was making my skin look really yellow. I tried color correcting the photos. The wide neckline allows you to wear this off the shoulder which is very 80s to me. I ended up returning this one.

Also wearing Quiet Within Bra - old

I'm normally a size 4 in Lululemon tops but for the Scuba Hoodie I like to size up to a 6 because of the tight wrists. I wear an Apple Watch and the size 4 is too restrictive around the wrist cuffs. Sometimes I find the size 4 to also be too tight across the shoulders and armpits. So, size 6 it is! It's much more comfortable and that's what I'm all about these days.

The hood itself is big, but I love it. Let's talk about the color, it's amazing and gorgeous. It's basically the reason why I decided to keep this hoodie. The color just absolutely did it for me. It's also the perfect spring color! I had to have it and I'm not surprised it's almost sold out in every size. Question is, is it really heathered? Barely. It's very subtle. You have to look extremely close to see the heathered specks. It looks solid from a short distance.

That's it for me! Let me know what you think of the Twist Back to Front Pullover. Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

  1. Nice reviews as always! That blue color is stunning on you! I did not order the Twist Back to Front Pullover since 1) I did not like any color and 2) the cut looks too baggy and revealing. Have a great week!

    1. Agreed on both points.
The Hawaiian blue is amazing. Thank you!

  2. So glad you got the Scuba Hoodie in Heathered Hawaiian Blue. Isn’t the color gorgeous? You could hardly tell it’s heathered and I hope it holds up better than my solid ones that faded after just a few washes. Have you noticed that the material is slightly thinner than the previous ones? Not complaining cos it’s perfect for warmer days.

The Twist Back to Front Pullover has a weird cut in my opinion. The dropped shoulders make the body look very boxy, and it’s too short in proportion. Not flattering at all.

    1. Yes the color is amazing, after JennyFromThe Block commented about hers, I had to order one to see for myself since you also mentioned it's a keeper. I did notice it's a little thinner than my other Scuba from last year, but I've had a few Scubas with different fabrics before, I just figure this is for their spring, summer weather. Fine with me! I wore it all day Saturday, it's so lovely.

Agreed on the Twist Back To Front Pullover, it's not very petite friendly. Would definitely have to size down at least 2 sizes!

  3. The Twist Back to Front Pullover was a hard no for me, I got mine a few days ago in the light sage and it was sloppy looking and the color wasn’t my favorite. It went back an hour after I tried it on. And I also love my Scuba Hoodie in Heathered Hawaiian Blue!! The color is so bright and pretty. You can’t not see that blue and be sad. :) Thanks for the reviews!

    1. None of the colors were that appealing to me either in the pullover. It's a good reminder for me to stay away from light pinks. =)

The Hawaiian blue is gorgeous! So happy I ordered this one.

  4. I love the idea of the twist pullover but it does look too boxy and frumpy! I think the twist in the front looks kind of strange even in some other fit pics. Maaayybee a mark down piece to try... if it ever makes it. I love how it looks with the twist and the Quiet Within bra though. The Hawaiian Blue color is so pretty and happy! :D

    1. I think it is hard to pull off with the twist in the front, it definitely looks better on the back. The Hawaiian blue is definitely a keeper!

  5. Thanks for another great review! I agree with everyone that Hawaiian Blue is a nice colour for spring! I didn't consider getting the Twist Back To Front Pullover because it doesn't seem very practical. I don't think I can pull off the look anyway. Have a good week!

    1. Hi Karen, I don't think I can pull off the Twist Back to Front Pullover either. It looks cute on the model, but didn't work on my short frame. But the Scuba Hoodie made up for it. =)

  6. My opinion is probably an unpopular one but I love the twist back to front pullover. I went with my regular size 4; it is on the boxy side but I don't mind. Love the pretty back! (With the twist on the back). Maybe I'm a bit biased as I love anything with a unique open back and I love green fern as a color. Hoping for green fern in pushing limit bra next! (Available on Asia site ATM)

    1. Hi! I'm glad it worked out for someone. The back is very pretty I will give it that.
Let's hope for a good upload today!

  7. I purchased my first scuba hoodie during last weeks WMTM sale and love it! It's also a light cotton fleece. I love the idea of the twist back to front but just wish it was a lighter material, which probably wouldn't work because the twist would just look lumpy

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...
