Fit Review! Get Centered Crop Hoodie Misty Pink

I cannot believe it's already August! Normally for the month of August- I go on a shopping ban and I really seriously should because the last few months I've bought so much quarantine clothing- even my husband is starting to give me the side eye every time a Lululemon package arrives at the door. 😅 I debated if I should do that again... but I've decided that I'll ban myself from Lululemon and Athleta, but if it's a small business like Werkshop I will support them if there is something I'm eyeing. I've been seeing a lot of businesses that are closing because of the pandemic and I'm sure we will continue to see a lot more closures if things don't get better soon. I'm pretty confident Lululemon and Athleta will make it out of here, but again nothing is for certain these days. Anyhow, I've decided to support smaller businesses for the month of August! I'm also going to edit my wardrobe and do a closet clean out. I know this may disappoint some of you that look forward to my Lululemon reviews.  ðŸ˜• I will however make a purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that's coming up. I was shocked when I heard Neiman Marcus filed for bankruptcy and who knows, Nordstrom could be next.

That said I do have a couple of items I will be reviewing that are Lululemon/Athleta purchases that were made last month. This is one of them.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops.

Ever since I purchased the Soft Ambitions Crop Crew I've been obsessed with the feel of the fabric. The  Get Centered Crop Hoodie is made of the same material. I was debating between the misty pink and gray sage which looks like the perfect mix of green and gray. It's also a nice neutral and a very safe color for me. I decided to go with the pink because this top looks like it's fun and flirty with the peekaboo window and pink is the perfect girly color.

This is a cropped length but it still hits slightly below my waist. The sleeves are long, but not overly huge. The sleeves are less billowy than the Soft Ambitions Crop Crew. There are no thumbholes. The hood has drawstring ties which I don't 100% love. I think I would have been fine with just a hood without the drawstrings. The fit is slightly boxy but it's the style and overall I find this to be true to size. The fabric once again feels amazing! Super soft and buttery smooth.

Let's talk about the peekaboo window. I thought it would have hit me at a weird spot (too low) but it actually works on my petite frame. I'm wearing the Ebb To Street Bra and the bra stays completely hidden. The window is also not that large which I like. It's small and doesn't really show much skin. I think most people wouldn't even notice it at first.

The color misty pink is a very pale shade of pink. It's the kind of pink that's soft and pretty. I think it's a cute top. For $128 plus tax- it's a little steep. I'm not 100% sure I would reach for it often enough to justify the price tag. Maybe if it's on WMTM? I'm on the fence about this one. I'm turning the big Four-Oh next year. Part of me feels like this is something geared towards the younger crowd. I don't feel like I'm getting older but it's definitely in the back of my mind. What do you guys think? Can I pull this one off?

That's it for me! Hope you all have a fantastic week!

  1. thanks for your review! I think the hoodie looks very cute on you! You can totally pull it off! I personally wouldn't be able to justify the full price, but if it makes it to WMTM, perhaps it's worth it~

    1. Thanks! The price really is a bit high. If it ends up on WMTM - maybe it would be $89 or $99.

    2. If you have not returned the hoodie and would like to sell it, I'd love to purchase it from you!! I can't find it anywhere. :(

    3. Hi, sorry but I already returned this. I hope you find one.

  2. Personally I think the hole ruins the shirt, but you should keep it if you love it :).

I have been spending a lot of money on lulu since the pandemic started. I am sure that we are not alone based on how fast things sell these days. I have sold a few pieces on ebay but I need to do a deep purge of my collection. Do you mind sharing your closet cleaning and selling tips on the blog? I can use some support and inspiration. Thank you!

    1. Sure, I can definitely do a post on closet clean out and selling tips. I'll try and have that up soon! I'm planning on doing a deep clean this coming weekend. =)

  3. I agree with Amherstlulu that the “window” ruins the design. The hoodie would’ve been cute without the “window”, and the pink color is soft and pretty. I wouldn’t keep it if I were you, especially at that price!

    1. The pink color really is pretty. Sigh. Decisions, decisions!

  4. I like the Get Centered Crop Hoodie on you! I think the fit is spot on for you. I kept mine in the black color and I can’t wait for the cooler weather to arrive so I can wear it. I like the small cutout on it personally. It is a bit overpriced but the softness of it can’t be beat.

  5. I tried on the hoodie recently and I love the material and quite like the cut of it, but I have mixed feelings about the window and the price. Do you think you'll reach for the hoodie more or the soft ambitions crew?

Someone also spotted an All Yours Hoodie in the same material in the product picture for the OTF 7/8 pants in black (https://shop.lululemon.com/p/women-pants/On-The-Fly-Pant/_/prod8431463?color=0001)!

    1. Thank you Evelyn for sharing that! I'm excited to see it in the All Yours Hoodie. I'll probably try that when it's released. Hopefully it's not this month... lol!

As for your question I would definitely reach for the Soft Ambitions Crew more often. I am still not 100% sure on the window. I'm now leaning towards returning it since the All Yours Hoodie in this fabric is more my style.

  7. I think that shade of pink looks really nice on you, but for the price, I think if you're not 100% sold on it, I say return it. (Btw, I thought the Soft Ambitions Crew you reviewed earlier was adorable! I'd love to get one too, but the price is a deal-breaker for me). Thanks for all the cool reviews!

    1. I'm leaning towards returning it and waiting for something I love. The Soft Ambitions Crew I definitely love. And I just noticed they released it in a lighter gray! Tempting...

Review! Coach Soft Empire Carryall 40 Merlot

I am super excited about this review! This has been the most anticipated Coach bag since The Rogue came out. At least for me. When I first saw this bag on the purseblog , my eyes widened and I was immediately obsessed. The Soft Empire Carryall comes in four sizes. Size 48 is ridiculously big, I cannot pull it off, but the 40? Perfect. Size 35 and 26 just doesn't give off the same wow factor. This bag is meant to be a statement piece and head turner. Kudos to Stewart Vevers for creating another hit that everyone will be obsessing over for a long time. I hear that more colors will be released soon, and I am hoping the distressed lived-in version will not be exclusive to size 48. In case it doesn't happen, I'll be using my Empire 40 as much as I can to give it a distressed look myself.  For reference I'm 4 feet 11 inches tall and please check out my video to see what fits! Coach Empire 40 Merlot This bag is huge, it's definitely the biggest bag in my collection. ...

Did You Know There Are Two Different Ugg Companies? Review - UGG Lowmel

So I was shocked when I learned a couple of months ago that there are actually two UGG brands. The original UGG since 1974 is the original Australian brand that are made from sheepskin. The other is an American company with the big G uses synthetic fabric and are made in China/Vietnam. Here are the two different logos.  The one the left with the big G in the middle is the company that's made in China/Vietnam. The one on the right is the original UGG since 1974. Each pair is made in Australia! I had no idea and feel so duped. I didn't learn this until after I bought the Lowmel's which are very popular at the moment. But I will order a pair from UGG since 1974 so I can support the original brand. Plus I really want to experience the real thing and I will report back my findings. 😅 That said, I still actually really like the Lowmels. UGG Lowmel Sand   Size Kids 4 I typically wear size 5.5 and I decided to try the kids size 4 which actually fit well, if just a smidge large...

First Impressions! On Cloudmonster Void

Happy Friday! I've been branching out into other brands for footwear. I mentioned in a previous post I just don't think my Allbirds are cutting it anymore. Allbirds are more of a casual walking shoe. Anything over 10K, my feet start to hurt. I have tried Hokas, and they seem to be decent so far, I can walk 12K steps a day and haven't had issues. However, I am loving the On Cloudmoster Void even more! For reference I typically wear size 5.5 in Allbirds which is my normal street size for sneakers and I am also wearing size 5.5 in On Cloudmonster Void. On CloudMonster Void Ivory | Wolf Size 5.5 (Currently on sale for 20% off -  $135) I'm not a huge fan of logos on my shoes. I decided on this colorway because I love the light gray and lilac combo and it does have a big On logo, but it blends in nicely with the colors. It still has a minimalistic vibe.  This shoe has a 6mm heel to toe shoe drop. This is a good height if you're a heel to toe striker which I am. This is...
