Fit Review Friday! Align Crop Cross Waist, Align Pant Wrap Waist, Catch A Moment Zip Hoodie

Happy Friday everyone! I have a bunch of new fit reviews for you all! I stopped by the store over the weekend and tried on the new Align bottoms and Catch A Moment Zip Hoodie.

For reference I'm 4 feet 11 and typically a size 4 in Lululemon tops and bottoms.

As you can see in the photos, this pair runs SMALL. I could barely get these over my hips and the waist is at least a size too small. The fabric is a very tight knit and medium weight fabric that apparently does not have a lot of stretch to them. I would say to size up one or two sizes for this color way. I didn't have time to try on a bigger size. The waistband is also pretty high up especially at the sides and back. I personally did not find this to be flattering on my petite frame.

Next up we have the Align Pant 28" Wrap Waist. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and these fit much better. These are true to size. This version is very flattering. It's hard to see in these photos because of poor lighting, but take my word for it, if these were the right length for me I would have bought them. I should have tried on a lighter color, sorry!!

If these came in a crop length I would consider adding a pair to my Align collection. The $118 price tag is steep though.

Here I'm wearing the Align Crop 21" Cross Waist in antique bark. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and these definitely fit better than the mini space dye herringbone. This pair still ran a little smaller than my regular Align crops.

Align Crop 21" Cross Waist Antique Bark Size 4

I love the antique bark color. It is a very pretty neutral. I'm not 100% sure I like the ruching at the waistband. It kind of just makes it look like the waist is too small. I prefer the wrap waist tie.

Last but not least I tried on a new hoodie. I've been thinking that my Scuba Hoodies are too restrictive these days. I'm looking for a more comfortable hoodie, especially one that isn't tight across my wrist and forearms. Anyone else have that feeling with your Scubas? I find I want to push the sleeves up and I can't! Very annoying.

Instead of going for size 2, I am wearing a size 4 and I have to say, it is very comfortable. I actually like the textured fabric, but my husband says it looks like a napkin or something like that. This hoodie has a relaxed fit- perfect for running errands or lounging around on a weekend.

Sleeves are a little long, but nothing too crazy. I like the size of the hood. Not too big and not too small. I'm not 100% sure I like the seam going across the mid section, it sort of makes my belly look poofy.

There is one caveat, the pockets are very shallow. I would not advise putting your phone in there because it will definitely fall out. Normally I wouldn't care about pockets, but since I carry my phone with me everywhere it is definitely concerning.

The back of the hoodie has a rounded hem that mostly covers your bum. Even so I still give this hoodie 4 stars out of 5. If it hits WMTM, I might add it to my hoodie collection and sell off a couple of my Scubas. What do you think of this hoodie?

That's it for me! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I'm heading to NYC to visit my family for Thanksgiving but will still post updates from there. Oh and here was my outfit of the day: I was channeling the Olsen twins. 😂

  1. I have to agree with your husband, I'm not a big fan of that hoodie. That seam across the middle is not flattering. I think you can find better.

    1. I'm trying to find better hoodies! I'm even eyeing the Athleta Triumph Luxe Hoodie. Might try that next.

    2. I tried the Athleta Luxe Triumph Hoodie and promptly returned it, the only places that are line in the soft fur are the back and hood. I didn’t care for the material it was made of either, kind of slippery feeling and not very cozy, in my opinion.

    3. Ack that's too bad. Thanks for saving me! Have you tried the Tugga Long Sherpa jacket? I tried the short version and didn't like it. The longer one looks cozy.

    4. I did purchase the Tugga long sherpa jacket! I got it in black. It’s a little on the long side but is so soft and marshmallow-y that I don’t care. Super warm too. Size down for that one, it’s a definitely a bit big. But, a keeper in my opinion.

  2. I like the hoodie on you! I’m so jealous of tour outfit today! I couldn’t pull it off! That cardigan looks great on you!
Thanks for saving me time on those aligns they look nice but not petite friendly

    1. Thanks! Yeah I really did like that outfit, it was very comfy too.

I haven't been buying as many Aligns now that the lengths are longer. They need to go back to the shorter lengths for us petites.

  4. Thank you so much for doing a fit review on the Align Crop Cross Waist! You know I was interested in getting it in the Space Dyed Pattern but was holding off because of the price tag. Now that I know the fabric doesn’t feel as comfy and luxurious as regular RULU, my wallet is safe. It also sucks when sizing is inconsistent with different fabrics.

I love my Scuba Light but have to agree that it’s annoying not being able to roll up the sleeves as the wrists are soooo tight. The Catch A Moment Zip Hoodie is not that petite friendly in my opinion. The texture is a no-no to me and like your husband said, it looks like a napkin LOL! The seam across the body is not flattering at all, and neither is the rounded hem. Save money for the Scuba Hoodie Plush! :)

Have a happy weekend and hope you’ll have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family in New York!

    1. I was very surprised that the sizing was so small on the Space Dye pattern. I couldn't believe it.

Yes I'm actually looking forward to the Scuba Hoodie plush! I hope it arrives today before my trip so I can take it with me. Thank you so much for reading my reviews!

  5. Usually Lulu does pockets so well so if the pockets on that hoodie are too shallow that would be a no go for me right there. Thanks for the reviews!!

    1. Thanks for reading my blog! Yes pockets these days are sooo sooo important.

  6. I just purchased the Lululemon All Yours zip hoodie in Spanish oak and am surprised about how much I like it. It’s a bit on the longer side but is so soft and comfortable that the length doesn’t bother me. I also find that my Scuba hoodies feel somewhat constrictive and the All Yours hoodie is much more relaxed and gives me room to move.

    1. Really? I may have to check that out. It looks like it runs big? Would you recommend sizing down in this one? I was thinking XS, but maybe the XXS might be okay.

    2. Yes! Definitely sizing down would be good.

  7. Stumbled across your blog looking for pictures of people wearing lulu merch to see how they fit on people who aren't tall slim athletic models like on their website, thank you for posting these! So helpful, keep up the great work :)

We tried HelloFresh for the past two months - Here's our review

Hi everyone! This post is written by my husband. Some of you may know he does all the cooking around here. 😅 We noticed we were spending a lot of money on food and eating out every month and wanted to see if a meal kit service would save us money and time. After looking at a few meal kit services we settled on HelloFresh. Without further ado, here's Jared's review. (Original post date Aug 2022). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may have seen from Leslie's Instagram stories for the past 2 months, we've been using HelloFresh for most of our meals. The main drivers for this were to better track what we eat and because on the advice of my doctor, I should be eating more home cooked meals. Before I go any further, it should be noted that my original career path was in culinary arts, but twists and turns in life changed that. So I do have formal cooking experience. A little background story. Over the years, I've developed
